3: Place a call

Leo was beyond speech. He couldn't believe the level of being shameless which his Mother-in-law had ascended to. He had known her to be a cheap person, but not certain cheap to this level.

This woman was literally selling her daughter for money and wasn't even wavering at the thought. Rather she was proud of her decision.

"I can then rest assured once it's you my future son-in-law. Unlike someone who Obviously can't offer anything solid, I know you can certainly take care of us. All that's need to be done is marrying off my daughter to you and all is done! So you... Don't waste my time and sign this"

"What do you think you're saying.. Ma'am?" Leo was too shocked at her mentality that he had to ask "Don't you know that you're selling off your daughter like this?"

Leo was too offended that he continued lecturing her "This isn't right Ma'am. How can you do such a thing like scooping so low to selling off Your daugher all because of money? That's a disgusting thing to do"

Mrs Watt now Seemed annoyed at the lecture which Leo had given her. She had angrily picked up a glass of wine on the table and emptied it on his face!

Leo was stunned with wine drooling down his face and cloths!

"The nerves you have. do you still have the right to speak on behalf of my daughter? You're unworthy of it. A worthless son-in-law like you simply can't be kept by anyone's side. Not as a husband and not even as a human being!"

"You're really too ungrateful for my liking! You wanted some damn money because you had nothing. And you had clearly come here to beg for money which is the best you could do. So why don't you sign this and hand over her to me!"

Hand over her to him? Leo hated the fact that they were discussing her like an object. and Mrs Matt wasn't even bothered.

"Look, Unlike you, My future son-in-law Ray Ed is the heir of the Ed enterprise limited. He's a Millionaire who is partly handling his family business and will obviously take over business soon! And do you know even know about Ed Enterprise Limited?".

Mrs Watt had her hands folder as she glared at Leo "It's A well known company owned by his family. one of the millionaires in the business world! So Ray has a bright future unlike someone like you! Your future is dim!"

Leo was offended..He was offended for himself and was also offended on behalf of his dear wife who had such a shameless mother.

A mother shamelessly selling off his daughter for some money. It was really a thought provoking idea.

He had his fist Clenched in annoyance as he glared at them. 

"What's with the looks? Aren't you gonna sign it?" Ray questioned as they looked at him with a cold and Intense expression.

"Hey..You better sign this if you want to save your dying Mother. This is your last hope and if you don't grab it it might be too..." Before Mrs Watt could finish his sentence, Leo got up to his feet.

"I won't be signing anything" He said "You might have Agreed to sell your wife but I won't agree to scoop so low like you and sell my wife like this"

Leo had stated as he turned and zoomed out of the restaurant.

They both sat there staring at him as he left.

"And what the hell does he think he's doing?! Is he playing the good guy or something? Playing hard to get?" Ray questioned.

"Don't worry about that. It's not like he has any alternative or any others means of paying off the money. Is he gonna rob the bank or something?" Mrs Watt expressed with a smile.

She Continued" When he has nothing left. He'll come running back to me. Begging on his knees to give it to him" She smirked.

Leo stood outside the restaurant still feeling annoyed by what his Mother-in-law had done. He couldn't believe she'd do something so disgusting. Well he guessed he should have expected it from someone of her nature.

The Family which he had married into were like that, The Watt family.

They were not a well known rich home. But they were well-off and capable of providing for their needs.

If Leo could recall right, they were almost heading towards becoming a Millionaire. Potential millionaires. This was due to the connections they shamelessly obtained while clinging to higher people!

Leo knew the family as gold diggers who would go lengths to rise and gain more money and status!

They had their little company which they handled.. The Watt enterprise. And they had started this company from the connection they made and had also Shamelessly clung onto hot shots to help them maintain it!

Leo never imagined himself getting married into a family with a golddigger father, Mr Watt, Mother, Mrs Watt and their son, Gabe who was Married to a materialistic Lady who was also a shameless gold digger, Mia.

Only their daughter, Katy was different. She didn't appear like them and that was probably why he liked her. And with the help of The Watts late Grandpa who had taken fond of Leo, They had gotten Married .

But after the death of Katy's Grandfather who always supported Leo, They had all taken out their harsh behaviors towards him! Enslaving him overnight!

Except his wife who always supported him.. But sadly her wife was the one with the lowest say at home! She also wasn't treated rightfully by her own home!

Leo sighed as he thought about his mother. If he didn't get the money for the surgery, Then things would go terribly bad!

He didn't want to lose his mother. He didn't want to see her death.

Leo was thrown into a long dilemma at the moment. Thinking back and forth, he didn't seem to have any choice left

It seemed like his last chance to save his Mother, so he got out his phone and scrolled through the contacts until he found the one..

After thinking twice, he called up the contact which was saved with.
