CHAPTER 5

"A cleaner? What are you talking about Mom?" Anna blurted, stunned to hear that.

"Yes, dear. We thought there was a mistake, but the manager showed him the contract he signed, revealing that he signed with them as a cleaner and not the CEO's partner," She cried in embarrassment.

"You need to see how people were laughing at your father. He couldn't even bear the shame and ran away, " Mrs Blackwood added, pointing at her husband.

Indeed he was lost. The old man couldn't take out the embarrassment.

"I told my friends to watch the live program. I told them to watch it, " He said, looking at the news.

The screen shows how Mr Blackwood ran off from the event in shame, with his wife following him, covering her face from the cameras pointed at them by several journalists.

Annoyed by it, he ordered that the TV be turned off.

"I don't want to see it!" He yelled, rising from the couch and rushing up the stairs.

"Father!" Anna called, making an attempt to follow him.

"Let him be," Ken said, acting all mature.

"I can understand how he's feeling. Just give him some time to heal," He said, walking up to the screen to turn it off.

Ken smiled devilishly when he saw Mr Blackwood running away on the screen. He felt much better than before.

"Mr Rosario won't make someone like you a partner. You are unworthy to work with us. So stick to your cleaner job," Mr Hardy said on the screen, leaving Ken chuckling inaudibly.

"There has to be a mistake somewhere. Was Mr Rosario there? " Anna asked her mother.

Mrs Blackwood revealed that the CEO, Damien, wasn't even present at his own party.

"It was just his staff, the manager, and business partners. Then the media as well, " She added.

Anna feels upset about this, seeing it as an injustice to her father.

Mrs Blackwood decided to go and meet her husband, leaving Anna and Ken alone.

"This is unfair. They did father wrong," She said, groaning in anger.

Ken scoffed and said to her, "I knew it was too good to be true."

"What is that supposed to mean, " She asked, glaring at Ken.

Ken doesn't hide his feelings at all. He said, " Your father who doesn't have much skills like me, was suddenly chosen by a trillionaire to be among his partner? I knew it was all a sham."

"Are you saying my father doesn't have skills? " She sparked at Ken, throwing her fist at him.

He grabbed it and pulled Anna close, pinning her against the wall. She looked into his daring eyes as he said, " Yes, he doesn't. And you too know that."

She groaned at him.

"Think about it, Anna. He was called over without proposing, then he was invited to a grand party just to be humiliated. Isn't it obvious that this CEO was actually using your father to play games?"

Anna reasoned what Ken just shared and became all mad.

"That bastard! He made my father a laughing stock before all for entertainment? How dare him?!" She roared getting mad.

Ken kept adding salt to Anna's wound, so she'd know how he felt when she was bragging about her father being a partner at D. F company.

It made Anna feel low before Ken's feet after everything.

But now she was out for a fight.

"I'm going to see that ungrateful man and give him a piece of my mind. I'll make him regret ever hurting my father, " Anna promised.

Ken, who also had a score to settle with the trillionaire, decided to join his girlfriend.

"You can not see the boss. He's not available for any visitation," A secretary had said to Anna and Ken.

The two came over to the company to find the CEO and rage at him.

"Don't tell me that nonsense. It's an important matter, so get him on the line now," Anna demanded.

But the secretary wouldn't attend to her.

Ken decided to give it a try by telling the secretary who he was and how important it was to see Mr Rosario.

Since he showed proof of himself as a business owner, the secretary allowed them in.

Anna and Ken stormed into the lift, waiting for it to arrive at their destination.

When they stepped out, they spotted the CEO's office ahead and made their way towards it.

"I'll make that man pay for humiliating my father, " Anna vowed, walking faster than Ken.

But before they arrived next to the door, the door came open, and someone stepped out.

When Anna saw this person, she was shocked.

"You?!" She exclaimed.

The one who came out was Damien, all dressed in a nice suit while talking on the phone.

He was also surprised to see Anna and Ken at his company.

"Oh, if it isn't the filthy man," Ken mocked Damien, referring to that night.

"What are you doing here?" Anna asked him, looking at his appearance.

"I should be asking you that question. Who allowed you two in here?" He questioned, glaring at them while ending his call.

The tone he used, got Anna annoyed.

"Don't tell us you came here looking for a job. You look so ridiculous in that suit. It doesn't fit you one bit, " Ken mocked further, laughing at Damien.

"Yeah, you look stupid. I'm sure you got kicked out by the CEO when he saw you," Anna added, smirking at Damien.

Damien smirked back at them, placing both hands in his pocket.

"It's clear that you didn't get hired by the CEO. He must have thrown up on seeing your poor face. Step aside and let those with business minds meet with the CEO, " Anna said, walking forward.

But Damien stood in her way, saying, " I can't allow you two to step in here."

"And why?" Ken asked.

Just when they asked, Mr Hardy came towards Damien, calling him Mr Rosario.

This shocked Anna and Ken, who looked at Damien at once, uttering, "Mr Rosario?"
