Mr. Usborne didn't look like he was bluffing or making a joke. He was serious and everyone there was about to watch him embarrass the Blackwood family.

“What do you mean sir? I know you might be angry so please don't make a decision based on your emotions, it might be dangerous.” Mr. Blackwood was pleading with Usborne, it was not a funny sight everyone was scared to their wits.
