CHAPTER SIX

Jake opened his mouth to ask him that when a loud voice echoed from the stairs.

"Who the hell is causing a ruckus, here!?" A man climbed down the stairs, walking towards Jake. When he saw Shane, he quickly scurried over, bowing courteously.

"Mr Adlon, I didn't know it was you." He greeted.

"Yeah, manager. I'm the one."

Shane smiled boastfully, feeling like some big shot. Jake sneered in his heart. Pompous and stupid! He thought.

The manager glanced at Jake and when he saw how shabbily dressed he was, he scowled at him. "Who the hell are you to disrupt the flow of activities? I saw you through the cameras." He said. He looked at Shane and quickly added, "How dare you even raise your voice at Mr Adlon. Do you have a death wish!"

"No! Mr Brown, don't yell at him. He's actually a friend to me." Shane said, suddenly sounding different.

Pretender! Jake hissed, his eyes flashing with anger. "Look here, manager! I'm not his friend. I only came here to withdraw cash, but your staff started acting hostile towards me and accused me of being a thief."

Since Shane had called Jake his friend, the manager didn't want to insult him so as not to get on the bad side of their biggest investor. He looked at Jake with disapproval, even so, struggling not to sound too rude.

"Mister, we do not cash out small amounts in our bank. Are you sure you still want to proceed with the transaction?"

Jake knew he was treading on a dangerous oath. His heart was beating frantically in his chest as he nodded his head, refusing to back down. "And who said I was going to withdraw a small amount?"

The other customers were watching the unfolding scene with all their attention. It was getting more and more interesting. Most of them were laughing at Jake, wondering why he was really bent on ridiculing himself.

Shane decided to unmask his disdain. "Jake, you probably don't understand the gravity of the situation now. I'm sure you don't even have up to a million dollars in your account let to talk of the least amount you could withdraw in this bank."

Jake glanced at him casually. "That's none of your business. Let the card speak for itself."

He handed over the card to the manager, making the manager gasp in shock. "what!? A premium green card??"
