Let's Kill a Wendigo (I I)

That same night, the cops arrived at the crime scene, terrified by the massacre before them. Sheriff Cole West, a tall, well-built black man, and his assistant Inspector Dwayne Sydney, a young white man arrived, inspecting the crime scene. They looked closely at the claw marks, surprised.

"The Wendigos? I thought we drove them out of town?" Sheriff Cole asked with a shocked look on his face.

"I'm equally surprised sir. It seems they used this as a warning cos not everyone here had missing body parts. Some were just murdered." He explained, pointing at a few bodies drenched in cold, now black blood.

"Shirley, what do you think happened?" Cole asked as a young, white-blond walked up to both men.

"I think there was a brawl here." She replied, cocking her head in a different direction.

"Why do you think so?"

"There are boot prints opposite these two footprints of obvious beasts. Then, the bootprints have changed positions, equalling the footprints. Also, there were palm prints that belonged to the owner of the boot prints but there were no fingerprints."

"Perhaps the human was wearing gloves and was fighting against those monsters. But something surprising is, the prints were obvious in this arch and are no longer visible outside...Meaning they either flew away or disappeared." She explained, wiping beads of sweat off her forehead.

"This is true forensic work. Good job Shirley." Sheriff cole commended.

"My pleasure sir." She replied in appreciation.

"Shirley, what do you say to us going out for lunch tomorrow?" Dwayne asked with a boyish grin.

"One reason I'll never date you is that you ask the right questions at the wrong time." She replied with a scoff.

Sheriff Cole chuckled, watching both officers argue with each other. He laughed as he remembered how he adopted raised both of them. Now, both were old enough to make their decisions.

"Let's leave this for the rest, I need to rest. I'll have to inform Alpha Alfred." He said, leaving.

"Okay sir, we'll remain here and probably come to see you tomorrow." They replied in unison as the Sheriff left.

"Now, back to what we were discussing," Dwayne said, facing Shirley.

"Again, NO" she replied, stressing the no.

DYCHE'S MANSION

Alfred sat on the cushion, facing the now unlocked seer who had a deep scar running down his cheek.

"So, you mean the chaos wolves are about to strike terror?" Alfred asked, feeling agita.

"Also, the Dragon's soul too would be unleashed." Seer replied.

"Oh no, lots of powerful creatures are here but the Multibreed is the real deal." Alpha Alfred replied, now calming down.

"You have to guide the boy, he needs to master his abilities quickly." Seer warned, peering his eyes into the darkness.

"I'll try my best, I would," Alfred replied, calming into a moment of depth.

The seer had his kind of shady appearance, I knew he was a good guy but the way he behaved showed he had a terrible past or secret but that was none of my concerns, my major concern was mastering my abilities which everyone showed high anticipation next day, I woke up and had breakfast with the family.

It was kind of fun but I felt weird, my Mom. I was missing her. After breakfast, I made to leave, thanking Mr. and Mrs. Dyche for their hospitality.

"It's our pleasure, ensure you come again. You have to be ready for responsibilities." Mrs. Dyche replied after my thanks.

"Okay ma, I have to take my leave," I said, walking out of the compound. As I got out, wondering, someone appeared beside me. Startled, I looked beside me and saw it was Sharon.

"Hey, Witchie" I taunted, smiling.

"Hey, doggie." She replied, cocking her face upwards.

"Okay, I don't wanna argue, why are you following me?" I asked with my gaze fixed on the ground.

"I just feel like walking you home. You got a problem with that?" She asked, raising her eyebrows.

"No," I said and silence followed.

As they walked through the half-empty streets of Bartlesville, they had thoughts running through their minds. Suddenly, Sharon turned, shooting a beam of light in Abel's direction. The latter squatted, evading the beam that passed over his head.

"Shit" he muttered as he saw what Sharon just hit. A being, red and human-like with fangs protruding at every opening of his face, excluding the eyes, ivory sharp ears, and nose... A Wendigo.

"We need to move fast," Sharon yelled as the people on the streets dispersed, all searching for safety.

Abel looked at the wendigo as it rose again. He smiled as his eyes took a shade of black with his muscles protruding and expanding. Gradually, he morphed into a full-fledged Lycanthrope.

"Now, this is some action." He exclaimed, marveling at his transformation. The Wendigo charged, bringing his claw downwards but Abel rolled sideways, grabbing a streetlight pole, swinging it in the Wendigo's direction.

The pole slammed against the wendigo, slightly throwing it left. He growled, spearing the wendigo which dug its claw into Abel's back, making the latter shriek in pain. The wendigo got up, grabbing Abel by the throat, smashing him on the tarred road, causing a crack on he ground. Abel groaned in discomfort, feeling short of breath.

Immediately, long hair wrapped the Wendigo, sending it into a wall. The impact shattered the wall, creating a fog of dust. Telekinetically, the wendigo was raised in the air, sending it a few yards behind. The wendigo crashed, then respawn.

"That's what you get for messing with a friend," Sharon said, smiling. Abel got up and looked at the wendigo.

"Thanks, partner." He thanked, breathing heavily.

"Anytime." She replied and flew in the Wendigo's direction.

The latter smiled and his additional fangs shot at her, piercing different parts of her body. Suddenly, she went numb, unable to move or speak. It looked in Abel's direction but couldn't find him there. A balled fist hit him by the ribs, amending him To the floor.

Then a claw swipe followed but it was so smart to evade the kick, knocking off Abel's limbs. Utilizing his opportunity, it grabbed him and sent its claws unto Abel's neck. The latter also went numb, unable to move a muscle.

"So this is the Multibreed? How pathetic and weak." He mocked with an evil smirk on his face. He dropped Abel, turning in Sharon's direction.

"I'll get the girl first." He said, taking slow strides towards her. He bent before her, about to deepen his claws into her.

A furry fist suddenly hit him, sending him meters away. A half-transformed werewolf appeared followed by another. They were Sean and Dean who had angry countenances on their faces. Dean lunged, pouncing on the Wendigo.

He drove a punch into the Wendigo's chest, pulling out its heart. The wendigo screamed, obviously in pain Dean shoved its heart into the Wendigo's mouth, shutting it up as it died. He turned in Sharon's direction and lifted her. Sean did the same to Abel and whooshed back home.
