Chapter 4: You Will Regret It

As soon as Dilan arrived at the restaurant, Halton immediately approached him and said, "All the raw ingredients in the kitchen were eaten by the rats, Dilan. Those are our last raw ingredients. Now, we have nothing left to cook!"

Even though Halton looked panicked on the outside, he was actually smiling contentedly on the inside. With this, this small restaurant will be completely destroyed. He would get a big bonus from Charlie.

"How could the rats get into the kitchen? Shouldn't the kitchen be locked tightly before the restaurant closes?" asked Dilan calmly.

"There's a small cavity in the kitchen roof, Dilan. No one realized that before today," Halton replied in a reassuring tone.

Dilan looked at Halton coldly. This bastard is trying to come up with a reasonable excuse to cover up his crime? Did he think I would just believe him?

"Give me CCTV footage at all points in the restaurant. I want to see what really happened."

Hearing that, Halton was quite surprised. Dilan doesn't believe him? This was the first time Dilan didn't believe him. Even though Halton was wrong about this, he was still offended by it.

"You don't believe me, Dilan?! Even if you don't believe me, there is nothing you can do other than accept the facts I say. CCTV was disabled last night. This is to save electricity costs."

CCTV was never disabled. Luckily, Halton made the right decision. He deleted all CCTV footage last night to remove all traces of his crime.

Dilan ignored what Halton said and went straight to the CCTV room. When he looked at the related information about it, there was nothing he found. CCTV was completely turned off when the incident occurred.

"You won't find anything, Dilan! CCTV had been disabled when the incident occurred. Why don't you trust me who has worked for this restaurant for 15 years?! You really disappointed me!" Halton said with a cold expression on his face.

Right behind Halton there are five employees who also work at this restaurant. They showed cunning smiles on their faces. Dilan has finished here. The restaurant has gone bankrupt. Why didn't he immediately close this small restaurant so they could immediately receive the bonus from Charlie?

Still ignoring all of Halton's words, Dilan said to R13 in his mind. "Can you recover the CCTV footage at my restaurant last night? I'm sure they've removed it."

[Received, Supreme Lord. CCTV footage is being recovered.]

Only three seconds later, files related to last night's CCTV footage appeared on the computer screen. After opening the file and digging through it, Dilan found what he was looking for.

Halton and the five were seen carrying a cardboard box containing lots of rat, around 20 of them. They are spread around the kitchen so they start to make a mess.

Seeing the recording, Halton and the five immediately shuddered in fear. Hasn't the recording been deleted?! How did this bastard do it?!

At this point, Dilan looked at them coldly, "What is this?!"

Halton realized that there was no longer any reason for him to dodge. It's time to show his true face.

He suddenly laughed before finally saying with a condescending face, "Yes, I was the one who scattered all the rats! I did it so that you would go bankrupt and suffer! You deserve it, Bastard!"

“My grandfather and I have treated you well. We even help with your daughter's school fees! Is this the reply you gave?" asked Dilan calmly. To be honest, he was very angry at Halton's betrayal. He placed great trust in Halton. However, Dilan had let it out yesterday, and all that was left now was disappointment and disgust.

"I never asked you to do that! You did that voluntarily. It cannot be considered a debt! After all, I've done a lot for this restaurant! Think of it as breaking even! Now, I've decided to go! I resign!"

Halton tried to take long steps to leave. He has done his job well. He will still get a bonus from Charlie even when his cover is blown by Dilan. As long as he didn't say that all of this was ordered by Charlie, everything would be fine.

However, how could Dilan just let Halton go?

“You trying to run away after what you did to my restaurant, Halton? Kneel down and apologize to me! If you don't do it, you will really regret it!"

That succeeded in making Halton laugh loudly again before finally roaring angrily, "What can you do to me, Bastard?! You want to take me to prison?! By only having this small restaurant, do you think the police will be willing to investigate this case?! They will ignore the report you provide as if it is just trash that will one day be thrown away! There's nothing you can do, Dilan! You can only cry about the bankruptcy of your little restaurant!"

Dilan was nonchalant as he replied, "So you won't kneel and apologize?"

"Even when you bring the grim reaper before me, I still won't kneel for you!" Halton replied immediately with a condescending expression.

Dilan then turned his gaze towards the five and asked, "What about you all? Aren't you all also willing to kneel and apologize to me?"

"It won't! I never even knelt for my father! Why should I do it for you?!" replied one of them, followed by nods of agreement by the others. Just like Halton, they looked down on Dilan, as if he was a pathetic bastard.

The great arrogance they showed made Dilan smile condescendingly. He had given them a chance, but they just threw it away. What fools!

"Okay! Stay tuned because something interesting is about to happen!"

Then, Dilan took out his cell phone and called Bastian.

"Come to my restaurant right now. You have work to do!" said Dilan as soon as the call was connected.

“Yes, Supreme Lord!”

Immediately, Bastian called his two best accomplices, Eldon and Jimmy, to go to Dilan's restaurant, Peace Restaurant.
