Grooming himself and getting dressed in the finest clothes in his wardrobe closet, Luke looked like a new man. His hair was freshly combed, and the shirt he had chosen to wear was immaculately pressed and starched. The tie that rested comfortably at his neck was neatly tied without any wrinkles or loose threads anywhere to be seen. Luke had spent the last hour making sure every single detail of his appearance was impeccable. With all of his preparations complete, he stepped into the bedroom to show off his new image for Ella.

As soon as he opened the door, Ella greeted him with a round of applause and a huge grin on her face. "You look amazing!" Ella exclaimed with excitement. "You remind me of some fancy assassin from one of those movies."

"You've been spending too much time with Aria again," Luke replied with a playful smirk. "She's probably rubbing off on you."

"Oh whatever! I bet you're happy to be compared to a movie star. You're welcome for the compliment by the way." Ella te

Arriving outside a massive open space filled with tables and chairs. All of the guests were already seated and waiting in anticipation for the presentation to begin. Standing in front of the audience is a single large white podium with two empty seats located on either side of it. Luke walks around the outside of the room, remaining out of sight until he arrives at the backside of a curtain neighboring the podium. With a quick peek through the curtains, Luke can feel his heartbeat speed up as he realizes just how big the crowd waiting on him is. Hundreds of faces with their focus solely on him, as well as the countless amount of cameras that would be recording the event. While Luke tries to remain calm while looking at the crowd, Ella had already taken center stage as she walked towards the podium with ease. After climbing up onto the stand, Ella gave Luke a quick wink before addressing the audience with a warm smile. "Good morning everyone. Thank you for being here today to see the

"What they hell!" Luke's mind raced while still holding onto the microphone in wonder of what was happening. "What are you just sitting around for? Shut down the projector!" Ella Stood from her seat and ordered the team in charge of handling the screen. Although she had ordered them to shut down the projector, The team was unmoving. They continued to stare at the screen as if they were in a trance. All except Lee, who was just as confused by the circumstances as Luke and Ella. As the team remained frozen in place, Ella made her way towards Lee while trying her hardest to not scream out loud in frustration. "What is wrong with you all?" Ella asked while glaring at them with an angry frown on her face. "Lee, go and shut off the projector. Apparently you're the only one with any semblance of common sense left in this place." Ella shouted out as Jonathan began laughing from the room's speakers. "Isn't this just the best. So much better than that awfully boring presentation. Things sh

With the room now emptied aside from the three people left behind, Ella and Luke stared at each other for a moment in a cold silence. "What the hell does she mean, 'we have to kill her'!? What kind of game is that?" Ella shouted while looking to Luke for an answer. "And why is everyone just following her orders like some mindless sheep?" She questioned while shaking her head in disbelief at what she had witnessed. Luke stared silently while still trying to piece together what had happened. He knew something terrible was taking place and the only thing he could think about was the 'New Genesis' Program that his father had supposedly built. That was the only thing he could think of that would explain how any of this was possible. Just like how he was controlled by his father, Jonathan and Marilyn must have taken control of everyone on board. The question now was how long ago did they plan this. They would have had to inject everyone with the same virus that he had. and even with all

With his body still weak and exhausted after his tussle, Luke found himself stumbling around while Ella helped him to the one and only exit to the room. "Once I get out of here. I'm doubling my gym routine. *Cough* Scratch that, I'm tripping it. No pain no gain, right Ella? *Cough* That's what they all say." Despite being in pain from the damage the man had inflicted on him, Luke continued to try and brighten the mood. They may have been in a tricky situation, but Luke wasn't going to let it bring them down, or make them look for pity. He felt that if they kept pushing forward, things would work themselves out in time. That's how it had worked in the past and there was no reason that it couldn't work now. Standing in front of the imposing metal door, Ella reached over to the panel beside it with her free hand and watched as the door slowly slid open to the darkened hallway beyond. "Well that doesn't look very inviting. Let's hope we aren't met with any surprises." She said while

The chase went on for longer than they would have thought but things looked to be going in their favor. They had exited the interior of the ship and were now running along one of the open decks outside. Unfortunately, although the open space allowed for Luke and Ella to pass by the large crowd, It also made the stampeding group far more noticeable than they would have liked. They had lost the cover provided by the ship's walls and were now on full display for anyone within sight see and capture. Their pursuers however had yet to notice this fact, and continued on with their chase as if everything was normal. Soon enough, there was a growing army that had begun to chase after Ella and Luke creating a symphony of disharmonious Footsteps echoing throughout the air. The noise was deafening but neither Luke nor Ella could care less about it as they continued to run for their lives. Everyone was clearly running out of steam as the group ahead of Luke and Ella had slowed down considerably

  • The Abandoned Son's Rehabilitation   The Break Room

Luke and Ella carefully stepped forward toward the room ahead of them. The room was pitch black without any light emanating from within. Without knowing whether or not they were alone inside the room or not, It was obvious that they had no choice but to proceed into the darkness. "Alright, let's take it slow." Luke whispered in order to make sure they didn't trigger anything unsavory. Moving as quietly as possible, they entered into the room as the door behind them shut and locked itself tightly shut, sealing them inside. Once the room was locked, a single bulb of light flickered on from the ceiling illuminating the room. It didn't provide much light but it was enough to at least get a feel for what was going on around them. The room was incredibly large to the point that it felt as if it could fit two dozen people in it at once. There were various pieces of equipment that sat scattered around the room on top of wooden platforms which were connected with thin cables. There was als

The next few hours went by slowly as Ella worked on getting the woman free of the bindings that held her in place. Although things weren't looking very good, There was nothing in the room to help them break away but there were multiple different monitors that seemed to have been hooked up to the woman somehow. While Ella attempted to make sense of how they could be used, Luke watched over his mother with a bit of curiosity in his eyes while trying not to think about why he should care about her well-being in the first place. Despite not wanting to help her, he wasn't so sure about simply leaving her here to die. He might have been the one to kill his father, but it was never his intention to do so. If given the chance, he would rather not have to do it again. Especially with how pathetic his mothers condition looks. "I know that you're still conscious right now. How about telling me how you got yourself in this mess." Luke demands while staring into his mothers eyes. Slightly rais

As the room was filled with the silence provided by death, Luke had remained still with Ella standing uncomfortably behind him. His eyes were fixed on his mothers body as his heart slowly began to ache at the sight of such a painful scene playing out before him. Ella placed her arms across her own stomach as she tried to keep herself together while also feeling extremely guilty about having to witness this entire thing play out right in front of her own eyes. Luke couldn't understand why this scene was causing him so much grief, and he knew deep down that there was probably something deeply wrong with him for feeling this way about his own mother after all she had done to him. Yet, there was also a part of him that couldn't help but feel some sort of strange relief knowing that his mother was finally able to rest peacefully after so long. "Hey, Hey!" A familiar voice called out from above them. The pair quickly turned their heads away from the woman's remains and looked toward the s

Why did you have to show up now!?" He growls angrily. "That's a silly question. I'm just here to pick up my brother and his companion." His older brother explained, "why don't you have a seat so that we can catch up. It's about time that we have a talk." Jonathan suggests with a grin while gesturing with his hand out towards the passenger seat. "Don't get your hopes up. I wouldn't ride in the same space as you if you paid me to." Luke retorted coldly. "How about you run on home and wait for me to tear you down, just like I did with Marilyn." Luke tells him with a scowl. "I'm sorry to hear that, but I don

Luke watched on in shame at the mess taking place in front of him. The room was already cluttered as is with the bodies of the guests scattered about, but now Ella and Le were making an even bigger mess of things. And all over a single bottle of liquor. "Haha, your going to have to try harder if you want to catch me." Ella remarked as she kept away from Lee while holding on to the bottle loosely in her hands. "You think you're funny!?" Lee huffed in frustration as he attempted to tackle her but she effortlessly dodged him and quickly disappeared behind the bar. "Ha Ha Ha! Very cute Lee." She taunted him as she tipped the bottle upside down, allowing the liquid to flow down into two glasses. She handed one of them to him with an amused look before downing her own glass in an instant. "Hey! You can't just drink it like that! It's not a shot!" He said while pointing his finger accusingly at her. "Oh yeah? A week and a half passes and Luke, Ella and Lee are now able to see land. It wouldn't be long now until they were back on solid ground. "Ahhh, Doesn't it just look so nice?" Ella exclaimed joyfully while looking out the transparent plane covering their room. Her eyes were fixated on the land as if it was the most beautiful thing she had ever seen. Luke couldn't help but laugh at her enthusiasm, but he also found it somewhat amusing seeing her this way given how much she had been through recently. "When I get back I'm going to take a nice long bath with extra bubbles and candles. Maybe even light some incense while I soak under the starry sky. Then I'll get out and dry off slowly while laying out by a pool somewhere in the desert with an ice cold beer in my hand." Ella continued on with her fantasy. "What about you half-pint? "So how long do you think it will take before we set foot on solid ground again? I'm starting to get a little nauseous." Ella said while looking down at her stomach. "Not too long I hope." Luke replied while staring ahead at the transparent plane covering the room. It's been a little over a week since we set off, so I would guess that it would take around the same time going back" He told her while scanning through different screens on the walls. "At this rate, my boredom is going to kill me before Jonathan can get the chance. I can only sit here so long without going insane." Luke complained with a groan, as he sat down in one of the seats. "I need something to read, or do... anything would be nice" Luke added as he began scanning around the room for any kind of entertainment that might be lying around. Searching the cluttered floor, Luke spotted a few different magazines that were spread open on the ground. grabbing a few of them, Luke tossed one of them over to Ella as he began

Covering their eyes to shield themselves from the sudden increase in brightness, The duo enter into the vessels bridge. "This thing looks like it's straight out of the 2000's." Ella mumbled aloud as she followed behind Luke, staring down at the small computer consoles on the wall before them and their array of buttons and dials. Luke turned around and nodded while he scanned through the screens and monitors displayed in front of him on the wall. "I hope this isn't as complicated as it looks." He said as he reached out his hand and pressed a few buttons on the panel in front of him, causing the ship's lights to brighten up. "I guess I know what this does now. Hmmm, Let me check on some things real quick." Luke tells her

Turning his back to his sister's unmoving form, Luke walked over to where Ella stood and wrapped his arms around her. Holding her close to him as he tried desperately to hold on to what little sanity he had left. He had acted confident in the moment, but had yet to fully realize what he had just done. Once again, he had managed to find his way back to the path that his brother had set for him. He was finally beginning to take control of his life and destiny and yet, once again he found himself on the verge of losing it all. "What is wrong with me?" Luke whispers into Ella's ear while tightening their embrace. His hands shaking as he attempted to calm himself down, but the thought of what he just did continued to plague his mind and make him panic. "I killed Marilyn. Marilyn let out a small laugh at her statement before turning her gaze down to Ella and giving her a smile that was meant to look kind and welcoming but instead gave the girl chills. "Oh, sweetheart! Don't you know that there are more important things than living or dying. Everyone here is doing their part to ensure a brighter future for everyone. Even you." She said as she stood up from her seat. "But you see, I don't have any plans for you today dear. Your time hasn't come just yet. The only one I need is my dear brother. As the screen fades to black, Luke can hear the sound of heavy machinery above him. Swimming up with his key in hand, Luke pops his head out of the water to find a thin catwalk extending from the wall opposite of the door. It continues to extend until it reaches the door, creating a path for him and Ella to stand on. Although out of reach currently, The water continued to rise which would soon allow them to reach the door if they wanted to escape. With a glance at Ella, Luke can only shake his head as he watches her playing in the water like a child. She's definitely enjoying herself way more than she should have been. Watching Luke play must have truly bored her. Once the water level was high enough, Luke grabbed hold of the catwalk's railing and pulled himself up. After taking a quick look back towards the water, Luke reached his hand out to pull Ella up from below. "Why, thank you kind sir." Ella replied sarcastically as she placed her hand in Luke's grip. Pushing to finish this game in the next round, Luke raises his head and takes a deep breath, as the water was now high enough to cover his face. Turning to his side to check on Ella, Luke could see her floating away on her back while giving him a thumbs up. He could tell that she was having fun despite the obvious danger approaching. But at least this meant that she trusted him to pull through. Finishing his breath, Luke dives under to see what was happening on his screen. His starting hand turned out to be a 15 made up of a 7 and an 8. Unfortunately, though. It seemed as though player 1's turn was taking much longer than usual. The same thing happened last round, so it wasn't unusual. Luke was just in a bit of a hurry considering his circumstances. Finally taking his turn, Player 1 instantly used the cover option and ended his turn with a Hit. Putting his cards count at three and locking down anyone's ability to manipulate his cards was most likely the best alternative. With playe
