The Affinity For Darkness

Chapter 5: Preparations

The fight between Lucifer and the two Metal statues had begun. The statue without sword punched at him with all its strength and Lucifer clad his fist in darkness before he punched the statue. The two fists collided with a powerful shockwave and during the impact Lucifer felt his arm broke in three places. He jumped away and leaped into the air with all his strength. With a flying kick he landed in the chest of the statue and came out through its back with a large red gem the size of a stove in his hand. The light in the statue's eyes vanished and it fell to the ground motionless.

"As expected," Lucifer said, understanding the situation. "You have a core and without your core your death...Huh?"

Lucifer noticed that his darkness swallowed the core and suddenly his strength started to rise at a rapid pace.

'Is this the power father was walking about? Is this「Gluttony 」?' he asked himself.

The darkness dissolved the core until there was nothing left and returned back into his body. He realized that even without the darkness he still had the strength of the statue. With his eyes closed he turned and glanced at the statue that swung down its sword at him. The dust cleared away and Lucifer wasn't there. The statue looked around for him only to find him standing on its shoulder.

"Looking for me?" Lucifer asked.

Lucifer then kicked off the head of the statue and even with its head gone it still moved around aimlessly. Suddenly, it stumbled and like a large tree it fell to the ground. Before it could get up again Lucifer punched a hole in its back and ripped out its core.

"Die!" he ordered maliciously.

After dissolving the core and absorbing its power Lucifer's power increased again and decided to check out the statues. He examined the cape on the statue closely and checked to see if it's a material suitable for making clothes.

'I guess it could work, fighting naked isn't my thing.'

The entire time since his evolution and his battle he has been naked. He decided to use the material to make some clothes. 12 hours later he made clothes using the cloth he took from the statue. A black suit with black undershirt, black pants and jacket. All With a lime green tie and lime green outline. Using a needle made from a thin shard of metal and he sowed himself with a sock.

"There," he said, adding the finishing touch.

Lucifer placed the socks on his left foot and placed his foot in a black shoes with lime green laces. He stood on his feet and checked the results of his hard work.

'This material is not only durable but light and comfortable. Now then, I need weapons,'

Lucifer walked over the metal body of the statue and examined.

"This should work," he concluded after he examined it.

So he lit a fire and started to melt a piece of metal but it didn't get hot. Lucifer figured out that ordinary flames wouldn't work so he headed out to look for something that can produce flame. As he walked he kept checking his surroundings.

'This cave is bigger than I imagined, I wonder if I'm going to find what I'm looking for here. Huh?'

With his eyes closed he noticed that there was a stream up ahead and rushed over.

"Water at last," he rejoiced.

He got on his knees and started to drink water. He suddenly noticed that something was watching him and looked ahead. An alligator leaped out of the water at him and Lucifer jumped away quickly. The alligator walked on the back of the stream and it was as big as a minivan. There were six glowing red eyes and a jaw that could swallow a cow whole.

"I don't have time for this," he yelled, angered by the alligator's interruption, then he became bewildered. "huh!"

Lucifer noticed that the alligator was acting strange and a massive amount of heat was accumulating inside its body. The alligator spat out flames at Lucifer and he quickly dodged.

'The hell—how can something that lives in the water breathe fire?' he thought to himself in bewilderment.

The wall behind him was turned to lava.

'I've found what I'm looking for'

Lucifer runs to the side of the alligator and dash towards it. He punched the alligator with all his strength and it burst in two. Lucifer was surprised to see the inside of the alligator flying through the air and his body bathed in its blood. He looked at the blood on his body and was undeterred by it. Using「Gluttony 」he absorbed the body of the alligator.

'I can feel its power flowing into me and becoming my own,' he thought to himself as he was amazed.

He gained all of the powers of the alligator such as 「Nature Fire Manipulation 」The skill to create and control natural flame

「Fire Resistance 」The skill that gives resistance to flame.

「 Oxygenate 」The skill that allows one to breathe underwater.

Lucifer channels his inner Magicles to create a small orange flame in his hand.

'Perfect,now I can forge what I need.'

Suddenly the darkness covered the flame and turned into a black flame in his hand.

'Black flames?' he was bewildered.

Getting what he came for, Lucifer returned and began to work. The Black flames melted the iron within seconds on his first attempt but after multiple adjustments he was able to regulate the heat of his flame. Hours after hours Lucifer forged the metal and whenever he got hungry he would eat the flesh of another fire breathing alligator.

His perception of time was off so he didn't know what day it was or what time it was but whenever he got tired he would sleep and start working again when he woke. After a long, long time Lucifer finally finished forging his ideal weapon and it was a silver desert eagle gun.

'Thank goodness my grandfather is a gun expert who lives in the country...Now I have to test it.'

Lucifer concentrated the energy floating through his body. From his core he channeled energy all the way to the palm of his right hand and compressed it to create a small bullet made of magicles. Lucifer loaded it in the gun, aimed it and pulled the trigger. Suddenly, the gun exploded in his hand and broke his fingers. As usual Lucifer didn't feel any pain and the darkness repaired all of his injuries.

"A failed attempt...Okay I'll try again."

Lucifer made another gun and tried again, this time he controlled the Magicles density inside the bullet. He aimed his gun and pulled the trigger and the bullet flew to the wall and exploded ripping a massive hole in the wall.

'I'll have to regulate the output of my powers as well as make the guns tougher,' he thought to himself.

After many trials and adjustment Lucifer finally got the gun working as he intended. He test fired it on some targets he had made. The cartridge was loaded with bullets Magicles and once one bullet is fired he creates another one to take the missing place. Lucifer can fire them continuously while reloaded as long as he has enough magicles to spare.

Lucifer just finished making another matching pistol and polished his two new twin pistols. After getting a good sleep Lucifer packed a small back bag with food and water. He buried the bones of his adopted father Black Dragon of Darkness Indura.

"Farewell Father," he said his goodbyes.

He took out a black snowboard and stood on it. Suddenly green flame shoots out from the bottom and slowly lifts Lucifer in the air.

'Now adjust the heat and output,' he instructed himself

The angle of the flame changed and pushed Lucifer through the air. Thanks to the small gliders it glided through the air smoothly. After reaching the stream he decided to go upstream hoping it would lead him to the surface. He followed the stream to a waterfall and easily glided over it.

While he kept a good 360 degree view of his surroundings. Suddenly he senses something approaching him at rapid speed. It was a pack of gray demonic wolves chasing him along the river banks. One of them leaped on a rock and leaped in the air towards him.

Lucifer wasn't afraid of the wolf that flew towards him with its jaw wide open. He took out his twin pistol and pointed at the wolf without glancing around or opening his eyes. Lucifer pulled the trigger and shot a gaping hole in the head of the wolf killing it. Another jumped at him and met the same fate.

One of the wolves howled loudly and moments after being chased Lucifer came to an area where there were hundreds of wolves waiting for him. He parked his glider on the ground and glanced around with his eyes closed at the wolves that surrounded him.

"So it called for backup, no problem....The more the merrier," Lucifer said coldly as he readied his weapons and pointed them at his left and right. "Now come!"

One of the wolves howled and sent all of them charging at him with the intent to devour him and Lucifer started firing bullets.
