Well, yeah. If you do not believe me, why don't we make a deal? If i am able to pay for the items i pick, you two are to get the fuck out of here immediately, and if i fail, i will be the one leaving." Henry sounded with a smirk.
Elena had her eyes fixated on the young man that stood in front of her in bewilderment. The Henry she knew back then wasn't this confident and anytime he was being mocked he would only remain mute and bury his head down in shame.
But for some reason their hateful words weren't affecting him in any way which made her shiver a bit. She could tell something was different about him.
"Haha, quit embarrassing yourself now, Henry. We both know you came out here to stalk me and not to buy anything. Even if you save up your entire salary you get from your crappy delivery job you wouldn't be able to purchase a single outfit here, let alone a bunch of them." Elena finally regained composure and voiced out with a sneer.
"Yeah, bro, give it a rest and move on with your worthless life. She never loved you, so just move on and get the fuck out of here." Danny snorted while glaring at Henry in disdain.
Henry glanced at them with an emotionless look as he stuffed the outfits he picked into several bags and took out his Atm card.
"You said I came here stalking you, I said I am only here to shop. You said i can't buy any of the outfits here, i said i will pay for each outfit i picked and if i fail i will leave just like you want." Henry sounded in a cold tone.
Danny scoffed before responding, "We do not have time to waste while watching you embarrass yourself, so I suggest you leave before I call the securities."
"Go ahead and call the securities..we'll see who gets thrown out. Me or you." Henry bellowed with the same expressionless look.
Danny clenched his fists in anger at the confidence of Henry. How can such a trash like him be so confident even after what happened that night in his apartment.
Henry went through a lot that particular night. He found out that the girl he was willing to die for was only using him, and on top of that he got the beating of his life from Danny's guards.
Why then wasn't he testified at the sight of Danny?
"Security! Security!" Danny voiced, and his high pitched tone caught the attention of everyone there.
Seconds after Danny made the call, two bulky men in blue uniform arrived at their location, and the owner of the mall also came since he could sense tension amongst them.
"What is the matter, sir?" The owner questioned Danny politely.
"This sniveling cunt here is stalking my girlfriend and I. I need him out of here right now." Danny informed, holding Elena's hands.
The owner then turned to face Henry after hearing the words of Danny. "I am sorry, sir, but I think you should leave now." He said in a calm tone.
"So, you are asking me to return all these goods and leave? Seems y'all already made too much profit." Henry shook his head as he attempted to place the outfits back where he took them, but the owner held his hand.
"Don't believe this trash! He is only lying to cover up the fact that he is stalking us!" Elena spat in disdain.
"Is this how yall treat customers here? Geez, I regret coming here." Henry frowned, his arm was still gripped by the man.
"I am not saying you are not capable of paying because I am not the type of man who judges a book by its cover, but please pay for these so we can all be certain and know who is right." The owner requested politely as he let go of Henry's arm.
"Oh please, this guy has no penny in his account. How do you expect a common delivery boy to pay for all these?" Elena interjected.
Henry didn't bother saying another word to her as he shifted his gaze to the owner.
"Bring the portable Atm machine so I can make the transaction with my card." Henry uttered. The man nodded as the mall's cashier walked towards them with a small machine.
The card was swiped, Henry imputed his pin, and the transaction was completed within a minute. The owner's phone glanced in his pocket, taking it out, the credit alert flashed in his eyes.
"I am sorry but you two have to leave now." The owner turned to face Danny and Elena with a stern look. "You were harassed by a customer, please leave before I ask the security to throw you out!" He added.
"Impossible! Don't believe this guy! I do not know how he pulled that off but it's all a lie! This guy is worthless trash!" Danny roared in anger while pointing towards Henry who just stood there with a grin.
"You really are shameless, Danny. Calling me trash even after what happened? You are the real trash, Danny." Henry uttered in a menacing tone and his gaze fixated on Henry.
Danny gulped after catching a glimpse of the look on Henry's face and images of how Henry pounced on him and beat the crap out of him that night. If not for his guards that backed him up, the beating he got would have been much more.
And now, the guards weren't around since Danny didn't bother to bring them along. He only thought he would be going for a nice and peaceful shopping with Elena and didn't imagine running into Henry.
With the guard not being around, Danny refrained himself from going too far and ended up angering Henry. However, if he remains mute Elena would only deem him a coward and loser.
"Who do you think you are calling trash!" Danny voiced as he charged forward.
"Wait, hold on." The owner uttered, causing Danny to halt his steps, he glanced at his phone to see the name of who had just credited his account.
"What did you say your name was again?" The owner questioned.
"Henry Barlow." Henry responded, then the man shifted his gaze back to his phone with a puzzled expression.
"I am sorry, but the name here isn't Henry Barlow but Johnathan Daniels." Seconds after the owner said those words a plump-looking man with several bags walked towards them.
"Sir, please confirm the transaction I just made to your account. My name is Johnathan." The plump man informed.
Hearing the words of Johnathan, Elena broke out in scornful laughter.
"I told you he was a fake! This guy has no penny in his account!" Elena voiced.
"B-but I just made the payment. Check the machine." Henry blurted with a puzzled expression.
The cashier then shifted her gaze to the machine and noticed Henry's transaction actually declined. She didn't bother to check since the owner confirmed a credit alert, but it turns out it wasn't Henry's transaction.
"It declined, sir." The cashier informed me.
"Are you sure?" Try it again." Henry frowned as he slipped his card again and imputed his pin, but was met with a bold red "Decline" notification.
"You see, sir! I told you this guy is only here stalking us!" Danny finally regained his confidence and voiced out with a sneer, while Henry just stood there with his gaze fixated on the card in confusion.
Luther did give him the card and informed him about one million dollars there, but for some reason it declined which made him confused and surprised.
Could Luther have lied?
"Drag this trash out of here!" Elena retorted in disdain.
"Hold on, let me try the card once more." Henry requested with an unpleasant look and his heart racing slightly.
"That will be enough for you now!" The owner shouted. "Drag him out of my mall, security." He then signaled the security.
The bulky men surrounded Henry and began to drag him outside like a piece of trash while the crowd present in the mall laughed mockingly as they recorded Henry being dragged out.
They dragged him across the floor and tossed him outside the mall and he landed face first beside a dumpster. Henry clenched his fist as he picked himself off the floor with his blood boiling in anger.
Henry exited the Mall's location and began to make his way back home with a heavy heart and his mind filled with thoughts. Just when he had the chance to show off in front of Elena and Danny, his card failed him and instead he was the one who got humiliated in front of everyone.Luther did say there was a total of one million dollars in the ATM card, yet the transaction declined. While Henry was walking through the streets, his phone began to chime in his pocket. He chose to ignore it and kept on walking, but the phone rang again.Henry slid his hand into his pocket and took out the phone to glance at the caller. It was an unknown number."Hello?" Henry spoke after answering the phone."Mr. Henry Barlow, your presence is requested by Mr. Luther right now." A deep and rugged male's voice sounded over the phone."I don't even know how to get to his place." Henry responded."A ride will be sent to you immediately after I hang up this call." Saying those last words, the call was disconnec
Hearing the words of Henry, Luther rose up from where he sat and walked towards a table meters away. He picked up a piece of document and walked towards Henry."Here you go. Sign this." Luther informed, handing the documents over to Henry. Henry retrieved the documents and pen and examined it closely."All you have to do is sign. Once you put in your signature you get a signing bonus of ten million dollars." Luther informed with a smirk.Henry gulped at the sound of the amount. He said signing bonus, not salary. If a bonus can be this grand he wondered just how much his salary would be.Henry read through the contract for a few minutes before signing it and handed it back to Luther. Luther glanced at it and nodded his head before making a transfer.DING*CREDIT ALERT: $10,000,000Henry glanced at his phone and saw the alert of the signing bonus instantly."Oh my God, this is..." Henry was truly speechless. He has never had such a huge amount of money in his account before. Before he m
While Henry was being restrained by the security, the remains of the chain fell to the floor and landed in front of Mr. Pedro. Mr. Pedro picked it up and glanced at the symbol on the chain."What have you guys done to my guest!" Mr. Pedro voiced out in anger. All heads in the area turned and they saw Mr. Pedro, the owner of the company walking towards the ongoing scene with his face bright red in anger. Catching a glimpse of his father, Danny stood up from the floor with his nose bleeding and rushed up to him."Father, look at what this lunatic here did to.." Before Danny could finish his complaints, Mr. Pedro slapped him real hard on the face and caused him to stumble backwards."How dare you all harass an important guest like this! Do you have any idea what punishment might befall this company with what you all have just done now?!" Mr. Pedro voiced with boiling rage.He recognized the symbol on the chain as Luther's empire and was fully aware of what would happen if he knew one of
Luther’s men went over to Pedro’s company and began tearing down the place. They scared away the workers and clients. They broke the revolving glass and used spray paints all over the building.“Dad I have called the police” Danny rushed into his father’s office. Pedro turned away from the window and walked to his desk.“It’s useless Danny” he said sitting.“Dad! How? How could you be calm when the company is going through chaos” Danny paced his father’s office. He was boiling in rage. He clenched and unclenched his fist. Henry was now a threat.“ You should have thought it through before you attacked that man” Pedro sighed. The calm he had on was pissing Danny off by the minute. “what?” Danny stared at his father with wide eyes. What the hell does that mean, he thought. He walked to his father’s high rise window and looked down. The police had not yet arrived and damage those men had caused was getting bigger. They had successful taken down the huge signboard of his father’s compan
Henry wanted to scream his innocence, but doing that could warrant something that looked his death, so he looked away. In his life, he had been accused of a lot of things but none of them had seemed so true like how it was now.He sighed inwardly wondering if he had made a grave mistake by joining Luther’s group. He gulped and focused on the conversation between Luther and the Russian man.“ Just a little advice, you have to weed the bad ones out” the Russian man looked at the goods and smirked.“ You are in no place to tell me that, why don’t you begin to weed yours—" and just like that, hell was let loose. There was gunshots blaring from the other side. It was like a dominos effect, everyone began to shoot. Henry ducked lower and didn’t peep anymore as he panted. His eyes wide. He saw as the others shot at the center and he did same. He wondered where Luther might have gone. The shooting went on for the next 5 minutes till everywhere went silent. Henry’s heart beat loud in his e
Henry opened his eyes. Call it shock or death, he didn’t understand why he dropped to the floor. The warm breath fanning his arm made it known to him that he wasn’t dead.He recognized the floor. He was still in Luther’s house. And clearly he wasn’t dead. He noticed some wet liquid on the floor. It smelt like iron. Then it clicked.Blood.He sprang up like one that had been stung by a bee. It was then he saw everything. Staring at the floor in front of him was Luther. He looked deadly. Ready to kill. His eyes glazed red and his nose flared. Henry followed Luther’s gaze and flinched. There was a dead man on the floor. He had blood oozing from the wound on his head. It’s his head. Obviously he was dead. When Henry looked away, he faced Luther. “Clean this up and all of you get out” he snapped and sat back in his chair. The men walked out of the sitting room. They went outside and some of them carried away the body. Luther wanted to know where they would dispose of the body. On a s
Henry stepped on the gas as he saw the sign of the hospital in sight. Relief washed over him. Henry knew that taking the front gate would warrant attention so he swerved onto the next street and took the back gate. He knew that hospital like the back of his hands. He knew the owner. This was because he was the one who had operated on his father and mother after the accident. Windsor was a good man. There was no way he would turn him down.“We can’t go there!” Damien turned in his seat. Henry watched as Damien’s eyes roamed through the brake and ignition of the car. Then when his eyes caught sight of a half dead Luther, his shoulders slumped. “ We can” Henry said. He didn’t know why Damien was against him. Was that owner of this hospital rivals with Luther? Henry wondered.“do you know him ?” Lukas asked.“ yes…he’s a long time friend” Henry stopped in front of the entrance. The security men stooped and stared into the car.“ Special delivery” Henry said. The security man turne
The sun has just gone down as Henry and the other two men sat in the car. They were waiting. This was the job Luther had wanted to do before he had the accident. “ What time is it?” Henry asked as he put on his sun glasses. The sun was so hot that Henry began to sweat. He just wanted this job to be over. A lot had happened since today. He realized that he had by involved with the Mafia since childhood but the innocence that came from with being a child, didn’t let him see that. Is Luther testing me? That question kept ringing in his head. On their way here, the other two men said Luther never gave out jobs like this to new members. “It’s just a minute past six “ Damien said. “ He should he be out any moment from now.” Henry sighed as he dug through his pocket for his lighter. “ You can have mine” Damien threw the lighter at Henry and he caught it.“Thanks” Henry said as he took a long drag from the cigarettes. It’s been a while he smoked and right now he was tensed. He needed a
