Jack turned, his demeanor instantly shifting as he sized up Alex.

Puffing out his chest like a blowfish, his fists clenched, and his eyes narrowed with hostility.

"So, you're the one extorting and harassing my sister, huh?" Jack sneered.

"Let me warn you: a pathetic man like you had better stay away from her. Keep pestering her, and you’ll be digging your own grave."

Alex snorted, amused.

"Don't you have any manners, kid? If you did, you'd greet me properly as your brother-in-law."

Jack’s face darkened instantly.

"Brother-in-law?!" he growled.

"Who do you think you are, you ignorant fool?  Do you even deserve it? My family should've hired you as a servant instead!"

Alex chuckled.

"You're as foolish as you look."

Jack’s temper flared,

Gustav was yanked forward by Count Oskar, the man’s grip cold and unbreakable.“Call your father,” Oskar growled. “If you don’t pay a single cent, I’ll sell your organs one by one.”“I—I’ll call him! I’ll call my father right now!” Gustav stammered. With no escape left, he fumbled for his bracelet phone, terror shaking his fingers as he dialed. As this unfolded, Alex stood quietly on the side, watching Count Oskar. No one else noticed it—but Oskar lowered his head slightly, a tiny nod of respect.Their oath to hide Alex’s real identity still held. Whenever they crossed paths in public, they kept their connection distant. For Alex, who had just obtained Prussian citizenship, the stakes were high.Any hint of involvement with the criminal world—or any violence traced back to him—could get his citizenship revoked. He needed at least three clean years without a single stain on his record. So Alex left quietly. Felicia and her husband had already gone home ahead of him. When Alex arrived,

Felicia didn’t catch the name of the count—she just exploded“How dare you hit Count Gustav! Who the hell do you think you are?! Do you know the punishment for striking a noble? You’re dead!”“You bitch! How dare you insult Count Oskar! I’ll rip that filthy mouth right off your skull!” Viscount Friedrich roared back. He grabbed Felicia by the neck and slapped her across the face.It was like lightning tore through both Gustav and Felicia at the same time. Their rage vanished. Their minds snapped awake.Count… Oskar? The man in the immaculate suit standing in front of them—calm, unreadable, watching—was that Count Oskar of Winchester? The man who ruled every inch of the underground world. The man whose name alone made criminals tremble. The man who unified the entire underground in just two years—through blood, corpses, and fear—turning himself into a living legend. The man no one crossed.Because everyone who tried… died.Color drained from Gustav and Felicia’s faces instantly. They w

The people began closing in around Felicia, desperate, anxious, half-strangers acting like lifelong friends.“Felicia, we’re all your friends, right?” one woman pleaded. “Can you ask this handsome man to help us too? The credit union wants to take our organs—this is insane! It’s illegal!”Some were real acquaintances. Most were just passersby pretending to know her. Others were just hoping proximity could save them.Felicia lifted her chin, smug and untouchable.“Oh, that’s not up to me. Count Gustav is here to help me. He doesn’t know any of you. Why would he help total strangers?”The crowd shifted toward Gustav like water finding a new path.“Mr. Klein, please! Be merciful, help us!”“Yes, we’re Felicia’s closest friends!”“We always treated her like a sister!”Gustav found them irritating—people who borrowed money and then cried when the bill came due. But Felicia’s glowing pride amused him, so he offered a smooth smile.“Well,” he said, slow and casual, “if you’re Felicia’s frien

Felicia hated being looked down on. But today, it felt like the entire street had gathered just to spit on her pride.Even strangers were pointing at Alex like he was some circus mistake.“See that man?” a woman sneered loudly. “That’s Alex the dunce—the walking error. He doesn’t even understand basic math, let alone advanced.”She turned to her young son and jabbed a finger at Alex.“You know what you’ll become if you’re that stupid? A dog wrapped in human skin. Just like him.”The boy frowned. “But… I heard he already escaped from being Rosenheim’s dog?”“Oh, sure,” the woman said, her voice dripping with poison. “Escaped to do what? Be a gardener for the Eden Group? A glorified cleaning service.”“Plucking leaves. And look at his mother-in-law—showing up here screaming about a loan she can’t even pay back. Do you want to end up like him, or have a mother-in-law like that?”Felicia’s face flushed a violent red.It burned—humiliation, rage, disgust—like someone had smacked her with a

Alex walked past the assassin as if the man didn’t exist. He just kept walking toward the restaurant—calm, steady, and untouched, as if nothing at all had happened. The assassin did the same—gliding by him like nothing had happened—yet sweat soaked the inside of his coat. His hand still trembled from what he’d just done.A moment earlier, he had meant to drive his knife straight into Alex’s heart.Instead, the blade jerked backward as if ripped by an invisible force, and he stabbed himself—deep in the shoulder, slicing nearly halfway through his own arm.The assassin bolted. He slapped a quick bandage over the wound while running, blood soaking through his sleeve. He stumbled into his flying car, slammed the door, and shot into the sky.But he wasn’t alone.Another flying car rose right behind him, tailing him with smooth precision.A voice message crackled through Alex’s bracelet a moment later.“I’m right on his tail. I’ll track him and find the mastermind,” the operative reported.

Alex was stunned for a moment. He couldn’t believe this woman still had the nerve to taunt him.He nodded slowly. “Of course. Of course.”Alrun turned with a triumphant smile, certain that her taunt had finally shut him up. In her mind, Alex was still the same pathetic dog from Rosenheim—loud when he barked, but crawling back the moment she snapped.“Mr. Ernest,” Alex said suddenly. “Did you know Miss Alrun here is my friend?”Ernest blinked, caught off guard. “Miss Alrun… you’re Mr. Saint-Claire’s friend?”“Yes! Yes!” Alrun blurted, almost tripping over her own words. “Alex and I were great friends for three years!”That was all Ernest needed to hear.“Well then… starting today,” he declared without a second of hesitation, “you will take over as the General Manager of the entire Imperial Amber Houses.”It was a massive jump—four tiers in a single breath. A general manager’s salary, benefits, and authority were on an entirely different level. They controlled staff across multiple bran
