Diane's POV

It was night time. The night was void of the moon, but there countless display of stars.

I look out of the window through my bedroom, I looked down, there were no guards patrolling this area right now but they rotated around the castle every now and then.

I've been monitoring them for days and I know the right time when someone would show up and now they had left, I had eight minutes to be exact to escape.

I lunged away from the window towards my bedroom door.

It was pitch black in the hall way, I had instructed the maids not to light the candles in the hallways that led from my bedroom.

I was wearing a black dress and immediately I left the handle of my door and walked into the darkness, the dimness clothed me and I became it.

I was in the pit of it's cold empty belly, walking forward, determined to escape this palace.

One step at a time and one foot in front of the other was my motive.
