Arriving in the nick of time

Dressed in an impeccably black suit, Aiden smirked as he remarked. “Well, well, quite unfortunate, don't you think so?... I did warn you that I'd teach you a lesson. Since you dared to reject me, then you can forget about seeing the end of today, and as for your family, they don't care if you live or die; they just want you gone. As a replacement, your sister seems to be smarter than you, picking the obvious choice.”

Though Alice was currently in a coma, a tear slid down her cheek, causing her to appear even more pathetic.

Madison glared at Aiden before suddenly lunging at him and grabbing hold of his collar. “You bastard, it was you that put Alice in this condition!... How could you!... Why would you do such a thing?... Hasn't she suffered enough already?”

Her cries quickly turned into uncontrollable wails as tears streamed down her cheeks while she pounded her fist against Aiden's chest.

In response, Aiden slapped her across the face, before forcibly grabbing her wrist, causing her to wince in pain.

“Let this be a warning, don't you dare think that I can't touch you just because you are a doctor. If I wanted to, I'd violate you right now and no one would be able to stop me!”

“You are a monster.”

Aiden gave her another slap, even harder than the first but that didn't stop Madison as she grew even more aggressive.

“You are a devil!... A sick bastard that deserves to be locked away forever!... I swear I'll call the cops, I'll make sure you pay for this!”

As she spoke, Madison continued to struggle even as Aiden tightened his grip on her wrist, causing her even more pain.

Slapping her for the third time, Aiden grabbed her hair before pulling it back, allowing him to see her swollen, tear-stained cheek.

With a menacing tone, he remarked. “You think you can go against me?... Foolish. Let me tell you, with just one word from me, your entire life would be ruined. I'd turn you into a tramp with a snap of my fingers and as for your family, I'd make them hate you for going against those above your level.”

“No…” Madison weakly muttered with Aiden grinning wickedly.

“Best believe I will make you suffer until you take your own life.”

Just then, someone spoke up, catching the two by surprise. “Let her go, Aiden… your quarrel is with me.”

Aiden chuckled, amused at how pathetic she looked.

“As you wish.” He said before tossing Madison aside, causing her to fall weakly to the ground.

Even then, Madison didn't run away, instead going on her knees to beg Aiden. “Please, Mr. Leroy, spare Alice. I'm willing to do anything you ask, just let me save her.”

As she spoke, she repeatedly banged her head on the floor causing blood to flow.

Aiden snorted at the sight before squatting down and firmly grasping her cheeks. “There's no need for this. All you have to do is look away and nothing is going to happen.”

“I can't…” Madison replied. “I can't abandon Alice. Not now, not ever.”

“Is that so?” Aiden grinned wickedly. “Alright then. I'll give you ten minutes to freshen up and apply some makeup. I'll be waiting outside in the car. Remember, you are only going to stabilize her condition. Try to save her and I won't hesitate to end your family while you watch.”

Then, he left and approached his subordinates standing at the entrance.

With a wicked glint in his eyes, he intoned. “Once she leaves, finish the job. That bitch dared to reject me and now, I'll make sure life rejects her!”

“As you wish, boss.”

Inside the emergency ward, Madison quickly stabilized Alice's condition with the latter staring at her with pain in her eyes.

“Don't do this.”

“It's fine, Alice. You protected me once before as well, right?... Now it's my turn to do the same for you.”

“Maddie…”

“I'll be back soon, okay?”

With that, Maddie left for the restroom, applied makeup, and groomed herself, hiding the scars she'd received from Aiden.

Then, she stared at herself in the mirror, struggling to hold back the tears in her eyes.

Just before she left, she picked up a fruit knife and hid it in her handbag.

She quickly arrived at the hospital entrance where Aiden was waiting in a luxury car.

Holding her bag tightly, she took a deep breath and got into the car.

Moments later, the car took off.

Meanwhile, in the emergency room, Aiden's henchmen rushed in to finish the job, ensuring that they carried out the assignment Aiden had given to them.

Their leader stepped forward and remarked. “You can only blame yourself for going against Mr. Leroy, now die knowing that you are alone.”

Then, he forcefully took off Alice's oxygen mask, destroying her chances of surviving.

Alice began to gasp for air, reaching out to take the oxygen mask back but the henchman laughed at her while raising his hand higher, mocking her for even trying to take it away from him.

Just as she was taking her final breaths, a thunderous roar erupted at the hospital entrance, drawing everyone's attention.

Before they could figure out what was happening, a tall and dashing man exuding an aura of authority forcefully kicked open the doors of the hospital, sending it flying.
