Chapter 7

Seeing the escalating commotion made Rihanna very worried. Her gaze fell on Kaiden who continued to defend her. Although this seemed strange, but Rihanna could not hide the excitement in her heart. For the first time, she finally had a defense in her life.

Rihanna held Kaiden's hand, this made Kaiden shift his gaze until he was now staring intently at Rihanna's face. "Stop all this. I believe in you." Rihanna stated seriously. And this made Kaiden feel happy too.

"Please stop this argument. I don't want things to get bigger just because you're defending me." Rihanna was still persuading Kaiden. Even she still didn't understand why Kaiden kept defending her.

Rihanna sighed again. "If I'm honest, I don't want to attend any parties either. I feel like I don't deserve to be there." Rihanna looked insecure.

All this time, she had never hung out with strangers. And if she was really going to get an invitation, she probably wouldn't know anyone.

Kaiden was still staring at Rihanna's face. From the look in his eyes, he could see that Rihanna seemed to be deliberately avoiding him. He felt sorry for Rihanna's life. It was even possible that Rihanna's life was much more difficult than he had imagined.

In fact, Kaiden could clearly see how the two people continued to exert pressure and bad press that Rihanna could not possibly refuse. They did not even hesitate to threaten Rihanna if their request was refused.

Kaiden shifted his body, that stern face looking at Rihanna seriously. "You will still get the invitation and you should come." he assured Rihanna.

Rihanna shook her head. "Maybe I don't deserve to be among people with high positions. I'm pretty sure that there will be a lot of tall people coming." Rihanna showed her disbelief again.

Although Rihanna also came from the Adams family, she had never been considered until she felt very strange in her own family.

Suddenly, laughter could be heard from Kyra. He laughed loud enough to make Kaiden and Rihanna look at him coldly.

"Oh this is a very funny show. You should be ashamed when what you're arguing about isn't real at all." Kyra laughed again.

Kyra gave Rihanna a dismissive look. "Besides being a loser, apparently you're also very stupid. How can you trust this lowly man? Are you currently dreaming of being invited by the Calderon family? What an idiot! Of course he's just deliberately lying to you to make her look powerful, but look at hi,."

Kyra gave her ex-husband a dismissive look. Even his appearance is not convincing. "This man doesn't have any standing. He was just an ordinary soldier who was just a frontline soldier. Perhaps, he was even a little lucky that he didn't die during the war. Oh, or maybe he deliberately hides whenever the war goes on? That's disgusting!" Kyra again couldn't stop herself from laughing.

Lucas gave them a sharp look. "Do you think we'll believe you? Of course not! A lowly man like you, of course, wouldn't gain any trust within the Calderon family."

Lucas raised a hand and patted his bulging chest. "I'm Lucas Adams, everyone knows that I have a high position and I didn't get the invitation. So how can you speak so confidently. You even created drama as if you could actually bring her to the party." 

Lucas sneered. He smiled along with Kyra.

"Did you fantasize a lot after parting with Kyra?" Lucas insulted him again. "Even if you could, this woman doesn't belong at the party."

Kaiden was certainly not happy with Lucas' remark. "You're such a bad grandfather!" Kaiden emphasized his words.

Kaiden gave him a sharp look, but he was still calm. At this moment, his gaze fell on Rihanna again. "You don't need to worry, you don't need to listen to what they say."

"He's a useless grandson. He had never had any luck at all. Then instead, he's just getting bad luck." Lucas said it without hesitation. This made Rihanna sad.

"Once you get that invitation, we'll get out of here." Kaiden assured Rihanna.

Kyra laughed. "Never mind, stop this charade. What are you waiting for? It's just a waste of time. I know that you'll never be able to do it. You only talk like that, because you want to show that you're great, but you never realize that you're really bad."

"Getting an invitation from a great family like the Calderons is no easy feat. So stop blabbering or it will embarrass yourself." Kyra spoke in a firm voice. She was really fed up with all the arrogant behavior of her ex-husband.

"Because I'm really going to get that invitation for Rihanna." Kaiden spoke with conviction.

Lucas was not happy. His gaze looked even sharper. "If you really could, then the invitation should have come with your phone."

"But look, nothing has even changed here. You've been talking nonsense ever since. So go away and stay out of our business. I can get that invitation on my own." Lucas gave Kaiden a stern warning.

Lucas' gaze fell on Rihanna. "Don't believe that guy. He's just putting on a show. You'd better get ready. You must go tonight with the manager of the Calderon family. That's the only way we can get the invitation." Lucas said it forcefully.

"I'll pay off the hospital after you manage to get the invitation from the Calderon family manager." Lucas gave a squeeze.

Kaiden gave him a sharp look. Of course he was not happy with what Lucas said to Rihanna. He was going to make Rihanna his wife, and Kaiden wasn't going to let Rihanna do that. And as he stared at Rihanna, she didn't dare to resist at all. He looked depressed.

"I will never forgive you about this matter for the rest of your life." This time Kaiden made his threat. His face looked very stern and filled with anger.

Lucas laughed. "I don't need an apology from a loser like you. Even you will remain a loser for the rest of your life. Then how can you speak as if you are a man of authority."

The butler suddenly appeared, making everyone's eyes fall on him. Lucas furrowed his brow. "What's wrong?"

The butler's face looked troubled. Sweat flooded his forehead. "Sir, there are a lot of people coming. They're from Warlord."

"Warlord?" Lucas repeated the butler's words. He looked surprised.

There, another man also came, he is Butler, a messenger from Warlord.
