Wanda frowned, not only because he saw the hickey, but because of how he asked about that.

“Mr. Ashford, may I know why are you speaking to me in that tone?” She asked, seriously.

“You have a damn hickey!” He was furious and it stonished her. “Damn, Wanda!”

He was calling her by her first name. She clicked her tongue and glared at him.

“Just to clarify things: we are not in a real relationship aaaand if we were, you wouldn’t be able to talk to me the way you just did.”

“If you’re going to be my wife…” He started, but she cut him off.

“Your wife is still a human being and as such, needs respect. I am nor I will be, the property of no man.”

Her chin was up, defiant. Gideon felt something in his lower parts, for the first time for another woman since he met Lucy. It confused him, especially because even though Wanda’s eyes reminded him of the other woman, they had a different fire. Not even after Lucy was changed she had that, it was different.
