Chapter Twelve

“If you may, indulge me?” Mael quested, having a seat on one of the staged executive chairs.

Snow gulped salivas through his throat, two-minded with letting his boss know of a personal secret or risk having to deal with his wrath.

He had no right, no audacity to give back the job to whom he specially sacked. But he had to, and to explain that would means letting him in on a little secret.

“She once aborted for me, meaning we once had an affair. And she threatened to let my wife know of the little secret if I chose not to give her back her post. I wouldn’t have if she knew I wasn’t in charge anymore, but I couldn’t risk getting that secret out also. So I kind of sorted it out on my own. I propose a sincere apology that I be forgiven.” He conceded, having no choice than to allot the secret.

Mael gawked in silence, quite amazed by the truth shared with him. He was about responding when his phone began ringing, he held up an index; to indicate for him to be excused.
