"What's what?” Marcus asked, his tone nonchalant. "I only asked you to be my maid." Amayah shook her head, her eyes wide with disbelief.

"Nothing, it's just..." She trailed off, hesitant to reveal her true thoughts. Marcus's expression turned stern.

"Deal or no deal?" he asked, his voice firm. Amayah's heart raced as she nodded, swallowing hard. "Deal." She needed to go through with her plan.

Marcus nodded curtly, his expression unyielding. "Good." He turned and walked away, leaving Amayah to follow him, her bag dragging on the floor. She stumbled, almost falling, but Marcus didn't offer a helping hand. He pushed open a door, revealing a stark, empty room.
