The officer's question broke the silence. "Ma, did you say anything?" Sandra shook her head, her voice barely audible.

"No." Her voice quivered as she swallowed hard, her eyes fixed on the floor. She grasped her bag and began to walk away, her legs trembling beneath her.

The officer's concern was palpable. "Ma, are you okay?" But Sandra didn't respond. She continued climbing the stairs, her mind racing with the image of the CCTV footage replaying in her head. She knew she wasn't mistaken. She knew it was Marcus. She was all too familiar with his distinctive walk, a trait that had once drawn her to him.

The memory of his confident stride now haunted her, and she couldn't shake off the feeling of betrayal. Her thoughts swirled with questions. Why would Marcus break into her office? What was he hiding?
