Chapter Eighty nine

John arrived at the killer's house, his heart racing with anticipation. He knocked on the door, but the silence was deafening. He tried the handle, but it was locked, and a sense of unease crept over him. Where had the killer gone? He pulled out his phone and tried to call, but the number rang out, unanswered. Nothing was making sense to him.

The possibility that the killer had kidnapped Don to demand a ransom crossed his mind, but that wasn't part of the plan. John's mind raced with worst-case scenarios. Had the killer deviated from the script?

Jack had exhausted all his connections, pleading with everyone he knew for assistance, but to no avail. Don's disappearance remained a mystery, and Jack's frustration was reaching a boiling point. His men entered the room, and he glared at them, his eyes blazing with desperation.

"Any progress?" he demanded.

The man hesitated, "Sir, we've hit a dead end. The hotel manager claims the CCTV footage is missing."
