Sixteen years later.

Kara woke up and sat up from her bed with a loud deep calming breath coming out of her mouth. She gave her head a little exercise and got off the bed to the bathroom. She had a place to be and needed to be there, ASAP.

A knock landed on her door.

"I know. I'm awake!" Kara hollered out for whoever is knocking to know before entering the bathroom.

Completely naked, she stared at the mirror in her bathroom and the scar on her hand. For some reason, she always did since she couldn't forget how she got it.

It was a memory she couldn't forget no matter how hard she tried to.

Her adoptive sister, Sofia nodded as they stood in front of Kara's door. "She's already awake."

"So, is the plan set?" Ellie, Sofia's sister asked.

Sofia nodded with a smile on her face. "She won't know what's coming to her."

Ellie chuckled, shaking her head. "She's really got a problem."

"And we know what that problem is, Ellie. Let's go downstairs." Sofia told her, and they walked downstairs to meet their mom in the kitchen.

"Is she awake?" Their mom, Nora asked.

They both nodded.

"I'm pretty sure she's bathing." Sofia made known.

"Well, at least she's excited about something." Nora laid out.

"You think she'll get accepted for the internship?" Ellie asked her mom.

Her mom sighed. "Help me set plates on the table, Sofia." She said, ignoring the question.

Sofia nodded and began to arrange the plates in her hand.

"Take that to the table, Ellie, and after that go wake that lazy brother of yours," Nora told Ellie, and she nodded with a frown on her face.

Completely setting the table, Kara came down the stairs wearing a black pantsuit, white singlet, and black blazers with white sneakers completely ready for her interview. She entered the dining and smiled at the delicious food her eyes met.

"Wow. Breakfast looks serious." Kara remarked in awe.

Sofia shrugged. "Just take it as a good luck charm, Kara."

"OK, quickly eat so you guys don't get late. And besides, Kara, you know that if you get the internship, it won't be easy balancing college, and work." Nora stated the plain truth.

Kara nodded and sat on her side of the table. "I know, mom. I also know I can do this. It's my dream."

Nora equally nodded. "OK. Start eating so you guys can be on your way."

"Where are you, Kara?" Zoey Daniels, Kara's friend asked over the phone.

"Chill, Zoe. I'm already here. Just about to walk in." Kara said as she walked, her gaze fixated on the building that was her destination.

"Well, be fast. The interview is about to start." Zoey told her and hung up.

Kara just sighed, walking more faster to get into the door, but for some reason, there was like some kinda change in the atmosphere that made her stop in her tracks. It made her turn around with furrowed brows, her face masked in confusion.

She didn't know what she was seeing, or why she was looking, but her eyes were just fixated on a particular lady carrying a child, and wanting to cross to the other side of the road.

She turned to her left towards an incoming truck, and back at the woman. She didn't know what was happening. She didn't understand what was going on.

The truck got closer, her eyes widened as the woman moved. It made her wonder if the woman was in her right mind as she watched in horror, her heart beginning to skip. She wanted to look away but she couldn't.

Then Kara gasped, her heart started beating faster than normal as the truck knocked the woman, and her baby off the road.

"Oh my God!" Kara exclaimed in shock, but then she blinked, and there was nothing, making her furrow her brows and looked around in confusion.

The only thing she could see was people looking at her like she was crazy.

"The hell." She muttered with a frown on her face and looked back at the road where an accident supposedly happened, but there was nothing.

She sighed trying to ponder on what just happened, but her phone began to ring again. "Oh my God. I'll be the dead person." She said running off towards the door of the company.

But then she turned her back and saw the woman and her baby she was sure she saw dead about to cross exactly the way she saw it, but then she ignored them and walked inside the company to do her business.

Getting into the elevator and clicking the button of the floor she was heading to, a scary accident sound was heard coming from outside making her blink in fear. The sound was familiar, and everyone stood up with a gasp, and they all ran outside to see what happened.

The elevator closed, and all she could say was. "What the hell!"
