The Hook...
Kara kept typing, trying to decipher where the place could be found, but it was becoming really hard, and time is not waiting patiently for her, since it was now the next two days. She sighed remembering the faces and still wondering how she saw something, or someone she's never seen before.Everything she's seen, she has always been there at that spot, but this time...it's different. She has no clue whatsoever."Hey, Kara!" She heard making her look up from her laptop."Layla." She responded with surprise, seeing Zoey beside her. "And you're here."Zoey nodded. "Yep. My class took longer than usual.""I know you guys will not be busy by four. I need your escort." Layla told us."To where?" I asked with furrowed brows."A club. I was invited by a friend to an underground club called The Hook." She informed.Kara's eyes widened at the information. "The Hook." 'Big coincidence.' She said in her thought.Layla nodded. "According to my friend, it's a club that only special people know." She said with a proud smile on her face."So you're saying it's unknown?" Zoey asked with a duh tone.Layla nodded again."If it's unknown, then it's illegal," Zoey stated the obvious.I nodded in agreement. "True."Layla rolled her eyes with a huff. "Come on you guys, loosen up for once. We're only going to have fun, not doing anything illegal.""That friend that invited you, who's he?" Kara questioned inquisitively.Layla sighed loudly, giving her a duh expression. "You mean she? She's just a new friend from school.""Then she could be involved, and you could be in danger," Zoey warned."Is that a journalist instinct?" Layla asked with raised brows.Zoey just sighed, shaking her head."When is the..." Kara trailed off trying to think of what to call it."It's two days from now," Layla answered getting what she wanted to say."Don't tell me you're thinking of going?" Zoey asked Kara with a raised eyebrow.Kara nodded. "I will.""Why?""Great!" Layla squealed joyfully and dropped two tickets. "Those are the tickets in case you change your mind, Zoey." She said enthusiastically, and cat walked out of the room."Are you serious?" Zoey asked Kara with deep furrowed brows.Kara nodded. "Yeah, but undercover.""What do you mean?" Zoey asked in confusion."I don't want to betray Layla, but things won't go as planned for her." Kara made known."I'm guessing we're taking the camera then," Zoey stated, fully understanding what Kara meant.Kara smiled at her. "Just under the radar."...."Why are you doing this? What are you up to?""You know the problem, Mr. West. Don't you think I've helped you enough for you to confide in me?"Mr. West chuckled in disbelief. "Wow. Why did you even help in the first place? I never even asked.""What are you hiding, Mr. West? Let's work on it together."Mr. West sighed. "It's none of your business, Stark. We're not that close.""I could rid you of everything you have with just a snap of my fingers, Mr. West.""Are you threatening me?"Mr. Stark shook his head. "No, I'm not. I'm just letting you know you're swinging in my pockets.""I know there are things you know about me, Stark, and that's why you got close, so you should also do yourself the favor of the warning." Mr. West said and walked out.Mr. Stark blinked upon hearing his name, and he looked up at who called."Mr. Stark." The guy called again.Mr. Stark sighed loudly and brought a paper out from the stack of papers on his desk. "What do you have for me, Vincent?""Mr. Stark, a call came for you from a guy who refused to say his name. He said he needs you there ASAP."Mr. Stark leaned on his office chair rummaging on the information. "Unknown guy wants to see me ASAP? Why didn't you forward the call?"Vincent gulped. "I...I wanted to, Sir, but he said to just give the information, and you'll understand."It absorbed Mr. Stark into thoughts about who that could be."He said something about two days from now."Mr. Stark looked at him, and he immediately understood. "Oh. OK. You can go back to your post."Vincent immediately nodded and left the office...Hunter walked away from where he hid after listening in on their conversation. "Two days from now, ah."He walked farther away and dialed a number on his phone, and after two rings. It picked."Hello, Sir.""I got a job for you.""Mommy! Mommy! No mommy please!" The little girl cried aloud seeing her mom's head separated from her body, and blood gushing all over. Her cries were very loud knowing her mommy has left her. Her mommy is dead.In anger, she glared at the monster and stood up to pursue the monster away. It must go away. The fire monster must go away!!"You..."She sighted her dad shake his head in disapproval. "Ca.."But before she knew it, she found herself flying with her scream all over the room, and then she rose from the bed like someone with a heart attack. Her breathing was incredibly fast, and it made her wonder when she'll ever stop having nightmares about that unfortunate day. After a heavy gulp to completely steady her breathing, she got a glimpse of her surrounding, and her face scowled as she looked around. She got off her bed wondering why she was in the middle of the road, and a seem to be empty city.Funny thing is, no matter the time, Capital City is never empty. She kept looking aro
"I was able to slightly decipher what that club 'The Hook'' is about, and I got something," Zoey informed Kara as she noticed Kara walking in, her eyes fixated on her laptop screen.Kara stopped beside her and nodded slowly in slight disbelief knowing how much she tried to. "Okay.""It's owned by a very weird name, but I'm sure it's a guy who calls himself Leopard."Kara frowned. "Weird name. How?"She raised her ticket up. "The serial number written on it. I traced it, and discovered it was faked, and not from a company.""You didn't confront the guy who faked it, right?" Kara asked her.Zoey shook her head. "Of course not. That would be stupid. Anna did that for me.""Anna Gray?" Kara asked loudly with a sudden frown and a distaste in her voice.Zoey nodded. "You know how she'd do anything for money. I paid her to help me get close to the guy since I discovered one of his weaknesses was women, and she was able to get this one information from him."Kara sat down. "A weird name, not
"Do you already have something you're researching about, cause I'm surprised you haven't met me for a scoop?" Nora asked looking at Kara as she stole a piece of cupcake her mom baked to give out to the orphanage tomorrow."Kara," Nora warned seeing she was disturbing her arrangement, and shortening the cakes."Last one," Kara promised with the food in her mouth and gulped it hard into her stomach."Be careful how you eat, Kara."Kara took water from the fridge and drank it."So answer my question."Kara nodded and closed the water. "Yes, kind of.""What kind? Not a dangerous kind, right?" Nora asked her.Kara sighed. "You are the one doing the dangerous work, mom, not me.""Tell me what you're researching about." Nora cajoled."Don't even know. Still working on loose ends, hoping it becomes something."Nora nodded. "I get that.""When is Sofia coming back?" Kara asked."Oh. She didn't tell you?""Tell me what?" Kara asked confused."She's sleeping over at Kate's. She won't be coming b
"How much longer do you think you can hide, Percillia?"Percillia shut her eyes closed for a while. "It means I don't want you to find me, Trick."Trick stood waiting for her to finish what she was doing, and then all her eyes opened. "What invited you to my abode?""Don't I have the right to come here?""I no longer owe the king anything, but I've known I'll meet one of you on my doorsteps one day. I warned about that last chance to be used wisely, but instead, Gordon was sent to do the job.""That was one flaw we'll always regret.""I'm sure it took some guts to come to me again. I owe you guys nothing."Trick nodded. "Well, you'll be surprised to know we owe you something. I'm sure your three eyes didn't help you to notice something of yours missing.""What did you do?" Percillia asked with clenched teeth like she was realizing something."I took something important of yours. Your eggs."Her eyes widened. "No!!""You do as I say, or your eggs hatch in my abode."....Zoey kept g
"Fourteen more days for the eggs to hatch. I'm sure Percillia will come around soon. She won't leave her eggs to die." He said looking at the eggs that sat still in his lair."Hmm. The eggs would have been a great addition to hell."Trick looked at him. "Lucifer, Lucifer. I'm pretty sure your dumbness is what got you sent out of heaven.""What do you mean by that?" Lucifer queried with a frown on his face."Truly the eggs would have been a great addition, but these eggs are programmed to die if their first sight isn't Percillia. Mama dragon made sure of that before she died.""Then it's useless then," Lucifer concluded.Trick shook his head. "Not useless. These are another of mama dragon's descendants, so I'm pretty sure Percillia will make sure her descendants don't go into extinction. It was a promise she made to mama dragon.""Don't you think there could be a way to reverse mama dragon's curse on her children?" Lucifer asked.Trick tilted his head at the eggs. "Hmm. Probably. But l
"The whole jazz square of this club is turning my eyes!" Zoey yelled so she can be heard. "And I can't help it, but move accordingly. Can you see me, Kara?" She was beginning to talk to herself since Kara didn't hear the second part. She was more focused on looking for Renard, or even Julius. Anyone of them could lead her to the spot she saw in her dreams."Hey, you guys!" Layla walked up to them looking kinda drunk. "Do you care for some white magic?"Kara furrowed her brows at what was on her hand. "What's that? Are those drugs?" She asked with a frown on her face."You only get to rebel one day!" She said out loud, dancing and moving to the rhythm of the jazz.Kara was only nodding to it. She wouldn't like it if she get too carried away like her friend Zoey who seem to have forgotten they were here on a mission. But then she stopped and furrowed her brows in suspicion, and thoughts. She then turned to look at Zoey as she just danced like there was no care for the world, forgetting
"What the hell is happening?""Was that a gunshot?"Everyone in the club was panicking and running out.Zoey, now a bit sober, kept looking around and walking around looking for Kara, and Layla. Just one drink, Zoey. Just one. She sighed, as her head was pounding. She frowned wondering where they are. She couldn't leave without them. It was too late. Her eyes widened as she saw Layla sitting on a stool close to the counter with a guy. "Layla!" She yelled, but Layla was completely out of it.Zoey pushed the guy off her. "Stay away from my friend."The guy chuckled and backed off."Layla!" Zoey kept calling her, but Layla was in a different world."I had so much fun, Zoey. So much!" That was all she said in a triumphant manner.Zoey just nodded. "OK, but what about Kara? Where's she?"Layla let out a short cackling sound. "Who cares?"Zoey just shook her head at Layla and kept looking around wondering where Kara went to.She furrowed her brows as she saw Philip Stark walking hastily out
Kara got home very late and entered her house. She met her mom, and siblings worried. They were obviously wondering when she was gonna get home."Mom, do you think she's involved with that club?" Ellie asked.Nora shook her head. "I'm not sure. Your sister won't involve herself in such. Besides, I didn't see her, or any of her friends."They all nodded still waiting.Nora sighed broodingly, remembering what she did. She was even lucky she was the one that caught Layla, and Zoey's phone on the ground. It was wrong of her, but somehow she knew Kara was involved. The problem is where she's at because she was the one who called 911.Kara silently walked up the stairs not knowing what else to do to ease them. She shook her head and walked back down. It's best to start really thinking about how to become visible again. How did it happen? How did it happen? There should be a way to reverse it.She stood still for a while in deep thought, and after a few seconds, something clicked."I wished
