Kara stared deeply at the newspaper byline. "Truck swept woman, and child to death."

Apparently, it was already investigated why the woman died. She got herself into the ordeal. She wanted to die because she no longer had anything to live for.

Kara scoffed. "What a woman! If only the child has a say on it." She uttered, although still deep in thoughts about everything.

"Horrible right?" Zoey commented getting a seat beside Kara.

Kara looked at her as she sat down, and dropped the article on her desk. "Indeed."

"Funny how it happened in front of the Daily Research," Zoey stated.

Kara just nodded. "We need to find a scoop. Something to write about, 'cause I sure as hell wanna leave this basement." She said looking around with a slight frown on her face.

Zoey nodded in agreement. "And you sure as hell ain't the only one thinking that way. Everyone wants to leave. It's a competition"

"Right from high school, we've ruled the journalist world, and it's all thanks to the fact that my mom is a detective. I don't think it'll be hard." Kara said proudly.

Zoey nodded slowly. "Yeah, though have you....have you heard from..."

"Don't go there, Zoey. He's now an old flame." Kara cut her off, knowing what she wanted to ask.

"What about Midlane? Our home town. Won't we ever go back?" Zoey asked again.

"Of course, we will, Zoey. We're connected there. Some of our friends are still there.

Zoey just nodded. "Alright."

All done with the experiment, Dr. Chang injected the substance he was holding onto a rat.

He waited for the effect, and suddenly the rat shook uncomfortable while Dr. Chang watched with furrowed brows as he studied the behavior of the rat, making her voice note with a recorder in his hand.

After half a second, the rat blew up with a shriek, its blood splashing all over the glass he locked it in.

"Let me guess, that didn't go as planned."

Dr. Chang looked at who talked. "Mr. Philip Stark." He said, switching off the recorder and placing it on the table.

Philip walked toward him. "What's the progress?"

"I could say it's going well, Mr. Stark."

"I'm also guessing that wasn't your only test."

Mr. Chang nodded. "The first test, the specimen melted, and then the second, it blew up to instant ashes. This is the third." He said pointing at the glass of a dead rat. "It just blew up."

"It's obvious the substance no matter how little destroys things." Philip figured.

Mr. Chang nodded again. "It does, Mr. Stark. It really does."

"We could use it as a weapon then. A kind of weapon like this could sell in the open market." Philip told him.

Mr. Chang nodded. "Indeed. But as you know, that ain't my field."

"I brought something," Philip informed bringing out two vials of blood.

Mr. Chang took them and sized them up. "Blood?"

Philip nodded. "Extraordinary blood. Test them, and see what they're capable of. Trust me."

"Different blood. Are they from different people, humans?" Mr. Chang asked curiously.

Philip nodded. "Yeah. Just test them, and tell me what you got."

Mr. Chang nodded, although feeling somehow about it. "On it."

"Please don't. Don't kill me. I tried to do what you asked for, but I couldn't...I couldn't raise the money. Have mercy please." He desperately begged on his knees.

Two words shone brightly at the back of the bad man that just sat without remorse as the other guy kept pleading for mercy.

A phone was checked, and a date and time showed clearly as the man began to sob knowing his life could, or will end at that point especially seeing the gun pointed at him.

"You are now useless to me."

And then a gunshot, causing Kara's heart to skip with a blink.

She sighed looking around where she was. She was in class, but she saw something....something not here.

She furrowed her brows as she remembered the words she came across behind the man that pulled the trigger, and turned the back of her notebook to write it down.

The Hook.

"The Hook?" She muttered to herself.

She could also recall the date and time, and luckily it was three days from now by six.

Every vision...which she decided to call it...she had always come true, so if this could be true, then someone is about to die.

She needs to find that place, and save that someone. Just finding it alone could confirm how legit her visions her. She was still in doubt and if the vision turned out to be true...she doesn't even know what to do.

But for now, it could be a very big story, and the leap she's been waiting for.

Although, is escaping death inevitable?
