Chapter 18

"You sent for me, Percillia."

"I need the eggs."

Trick shrugged. "You know what you need to do. And time is running out."

"Trick.."

"Show me what I need to see."

Percillia sighed and nodded. "I will, but first I need to see the eggs."

Trick nodded and made the eggs appear on his hand.

Percillia let out a sigh of relief.

The eggs disappeared, and Trick smirked. "I'm waiting."

Percillia covered her eyes slowly, and then shut them while Trick just stood, and watched.

And then her eyes opened wide in horror. "It's on earth."

"I know."

"Not in Singapore, but Kansas."

"U.S?"

"Yes. In a city. Capital city."

"Did it walk there, cause Singapore is where it was, and where Gordon mainly searched."

"Actually it did, but...but...I'm kinda being blocked out. I'm be...being blo...blocked out." Her eyes were beginning to twitch as she was trying to fight what was blocking her out.

Trick frowned. "Say it, Percillia. Say it!"

"It's in someone!" She forcefully said followed by a huge gasp and blinked.

"Who?"

Percillia shook her head. "Don't know."

"Then find out more!" Trick roared in anger.

"I can't. I was blocked out. I have an idea who."

"Hmm." Trick grunted in anger.

"Although, the someone I saw is a female. I just couldn't get a name."

"Then we are gonna find who. We'll pay a visit to Capital city, Kansas."

Percillia nodded. "So the eggs?"

Trick waved his right hand, and the eggs appeared on her desk beside her throne.

"Thanks."

Trick smirked, and walked out.

"Your daughter told you all that?"

Nora nodded. "She's been working on it even before we even know of the case."

"How did she know? What got her into it?"

"It was probably a story, Captain. She told me she was working on a story, she just didn't tell me what because she wasn't actually sure where it'll lead her."

"I'm guessing until she went to the hook." Captain Josephine Blaze figured.

Nora nodded. "Yeah."

"What you did..."

"I know, captain. Twas very wrong. I...I didn't know why she was there, and I didn't....."

"I understand, Rogers. But don't let it happen again."

Nora nodded. "I won't."

Josephine nodded. "Since your daughter is a journalist, and a very good one, I might add. I won't stop her from working more on the case. She could be of huge help in solving it."

Nora nodded trying to contain a smile forcing its way out.

"It's okay. You can smile. If I were you, I would have been really proud."

Nora smiled. "Yes, captain."

"I've gotten the search warrant for Leonard Vander, so you, Griffin, and other officers can go, and bring him to justice."

The smile was still on Nora's face as she nodded, and left the office. No matter how worried she can be about her children, she was indeed proud. Very proud of them.

"Come on, Ellie."

Ellie shook her head. "No Jack. I can't."

"Just come to my house. You can tell your mom you're sleeping over at someone else's. Please."

"I'm sorry, Jack. But I'm just too young for this. I gotta go." Ellie told him, and left the hallway with a frown.

The frown wasn't at Jack, but at the fact that she wonders when she'll be old enough. Four years is just too far to get to adulthood. To live a life where she can do what she wants just like every other girl.

Kara isn't all that holy. She did hers at seventeen, so why wait?

She sighed. 'I love Jack, but I could lose him because of my juvenile attitude.' She thought to herself.

She needed to come to a conclusion because it was up to her. Nobody has to know.

Bernard Greene.

Lives at 13 Burbay street, BayLane, Kansas.

Hispanic.

Mid-age.

And a farmer at BayLane close to his house.

Kara frowned. "Are these real or just G****e make-believe? The name doesn't even sound Spanish."

"What's not real?" Zoey interrupted sitting on her desk and looking at her.

Kara glanced at her nervously. "Um,.." She gulped trying to come up with a lie. "I just got some intel about a guy from Bay lane."

"BayLane? Who?"

"His name is Bernard Greene. He's a farmer."

Zoey nodded. "What kind of intel? A bad or good intel?"

Kara blinked and looked at her. "I think it's bad."

"Hmm." Zoey breathed out. "Is it worth a story, cause our recent one is taking too much time?"

Kara smiled. "We're going tomorrow to speak with Julius. Let's see what he got to say, or if he'll still keep his lip shut."

Zoey nodded. "Although I think you should begin typing about it. I have a feeling that very soon, we'll be publishing."

Kara equally nodded. "Okay."

She looked back at her screen. 'Bernard Greene.'

"You know if we can't pin Mr. Stark, I think as long as we know Leonard Vander, he could take all the blame."

Kara's eyes drooped at the information, and she looked at her. "I guess you're right. If we wanna keep searching, I don't think we'll go anywhere since we got no single evidence against Philip Stark. Let's publish it." Kara dropped.

Zoey's eyebrows twitched in surprise. "Um, now?"

Kara nodded. "Why wait any longer? My mom is already on her way to catch Leonard, and after she calls, we'll do it."

"Well, it'll actually be easy since he doesn't know the cops are in on him."

Kara nodded again. "Exactly. Once my mom calls. I'll publish it. I'm sure right now reporters, and journalists are standing by in front of the station waiting for the big scoop. The one right in front of us." Kara said with a smirk.

The smirk was contagious because Zoey smirked too.

"I should go there too as your camera girl, so we can get a good picture of Leopard handcuffed, and escorted by the cops. I'm guessing one will be enough.

Kara nodded, and Zoey stood up and left.
