Ellie entered in with looks of nervousness around her features. She did something she knows was wrong, and is scared if she'll be able to avoid not getting caught.
Kara and Sofia looked up and saw her entering with lowered head."Ellie!" Kara called.Ellie's eyes flashed, her heart pounding, and she looked at Kara, and Sofia as they stay seated on the long couch. "Uh, yes.""Where have you been?" Kara asked."At a friend's." She gushed out "I told mommy I was going to meet a friend, so why care?"Kara nodded in a kinda unsure way. Her attitude was way above the charts. "Okay. You can go.""Of course." She said and immediately left upstairs.Kara's eyes followed her as she went upstairs."What's wrong?" Sofia asked.Kara looked at her. "There's something up with her. She's acting weird."Sofia sighed. "You know Ellie. She can be like that."Kara nodded, her head still trying to wrap up what she found wrong about Ellie. There was something different. Also that familiar attitude."So, what do you want to tell me?" Sofia asked."Uh, yeah. I saw Ace today."Sofia's eyes widened. "No way!"Kara nodded. "Yeah. And he hasn't changed."Sofia looked at her with a sad face. "You still love him, don't you?"Kara's eyes drooped. "Don't know.""The only way to get over him, Kara, is to get a rebound boy, or get someone you can fall in love with."Kara looked at her. "Cause that's easy.""Don't wallow in work, and school Kara. Create time for your love life. It's advice."...."What are we going to do with her, Ava? No sooner, they'll find out who she is."Ava nodded. "You're right, Ken. We have to bring her close now. We have to train her for what's coming.""How am I going to persuade her? How am I going to make her understand? She's obviously still in the level of denial.""Then bring out the parents' card, Ken. I'm sure if something is going on with her now, it'll make her want to know more about them."Ken nodded, getting her point. "I'll do just that."...."So you checked the box at last. I never thought you would." Nora said looking at the picture Kara attacked her with."I just want to know why Philip Stark is in the background. And also this boy..." She said pointing at the picture in her hand and dropping it on Nora's lap. "I wanna know who he is."Nora sighed and looked up at Kara as she stood impatiently. "They're part of your past, Kara.""Then I want to know mom. I want to know what part they played in my past life."Nora sighed again. "What exactly do you want to know?""Who was Philip Stark in my life?"Nora looked at her. "Your father's friend."Kara frowned. "My father's friend?"Nora nodded. "Yeah. Back then when...when you guys were living in Singapore."Kara's frown deepened. "Asia?"Kara nodded. "Yeah. Asia. That was where everything happened, Kara. Just so you know, you weren't born there. You were born in the US, but your parents moved there, so after they died, and after you recovered, I moved you here to Kansas.""So, you're saying Philip Stark equally stayed there?"Nora shook her head. "Believe me, Kara. I don't really know much. Yes, I was a friend of your parents, but I didn't exactly stay anywhere near their zip code."Kara nodded. "And the boy?"Nora looked at the picture. "Yeah, I remember him. He was kinda your only friend, then. Always with you. You played together all the time. He's um,..." She paused and looked at Kara. "He's Hunter Stark. The only son, and child of Philip Stark.""Wh...what?"Nora smiled remembering things. "I remember you were always happy with him. You used to call him Neo. It was the name you gave to him."Kara blinked, and then she was beginning to get flashes, and flashes of a little girl running and playing with a boy, but then it was interrupted."You know you can't cross me, Felix. You don't want to end like Anton and his grandpa."The Felix nodded. "Sí..sí, Sir.""Go back to tilling."Felix nodded. He looked at the scary big guy beside him. "Just give him a clean death."The guy nodded and shot Felix in the back.Felix yelped and fell to his knees..dead.Kara blinked again, and then she lost her steps and fell on her butt. "Ow."Nora's brows were furrowed on her. "Are you..are you okay?"Kara nodded. "Uh, yeah. Just remembered something." She said and stood up."What did you remember?""Mainly flashes of me, and that boy." She took the pictures. "I gotta go." She said and left upstairs to her room leaving Nora in a confused state.Getting to her room, Kara dropped the pictures on the vanity and collapsed on her bed. Another vision. The guy she saw resembled the picture she saw of Bernard Greene. And the place looked like a house, and the dead guy was obviously heading towards a farm to till where she was sure he wasn't the only one working there. The gunshot was loud, so they could have heard it.It could mean the workers see they die, but nobody dares report it. Why?"This better be good news, Dr. Chang." Mr. Stark walked into his lab."Have I ever called you for bad news?"Mr. Stark nodded. "What is it, then?""The types of blood you gave are unique, Mr. Stark. They contain genetic materials that are not of this world.""You mean they're aliens?" Mr. Stark asked.Dr. Chang nodded. "They are.""What can you do with them, then?"Dr. Chang smirked. "Watch this experiment."He opened a small glass space containing a rabbit, and cut his fur with a knife, bringing a shriek out of the rabbit."What are you on to?""Just watch."He injected a little bit of the white serum inside the rabbit. "Watch closely."Mr. Stark furrowed his brows at the rabbit. His eyes slowly widened as the rabbit's wound closed. "Did it just..""Heal? Yes, it did." Dr. Chang confirmed.Mr. Stark gaped. "Wow. And..and the other blood?"Dr. Chang sighed. "The male DNA is gonna need a lot more than rodents to experiment on.""What do you mean?""The blood is different from that of t
Kara blinked still trying hard to look away from Hunter but finding it difficult. "Um, you...you look familiar. Why?" She asked in wonder."Cause we met yesterday. The other guy with your ex." Hunter informed.Kara raised her brow in realization. "Oh. You're friends with him."Hunter shook his head. "Not actually.""Why am I here, then?""I'm guessing why I'm here is why you accepted to meet."Kara narrowed her eyes at him in thought. 'I don't think he knows why I accepted to meet him. I mean he was a friend of mine. A childhood friend. Why else would I...why else would I...Oh, God! He's a Stark. Damn it!' She pondered in her thoughts."What do you want? I mean, honestly, I still don't get you." Kara told him truthfully.Hunter nodded. "The article you wrote about the vile drug lord. I want to know more about it.""Neo! Neo!" Cara fell to the ground crying."What is it, Cara? Why weren't you careful?""I...I just didn't...I didn't see it....""Miss. Rogers? Miss Rogers!"Kara blinked
Percillia frowned looking at her eggs. It was meant to hatch, but it hasn't. What's wrong? She blinked beginning to fire a million worst scenarios in her head. But then she shook her head. "It is impossible. They should know nothing can be done. There's no use. What is happening?"She looked back at the eggs with looks of worry evident on her face. What's happening?...."Thank you so much, Draco. You saved those dragons."Draco looked at Trick and shook his head. "No, I didn't. I just postponed their hatching period until I find a way to do what you want."Trick smiled. "You believe it's possible, right?"Draco nodded. "With a lot of incantations, I should be able to reverse the curse Glenda made on her babies. The dragons will live, and work for you."Trick nodded. "Good, 'cause I gotta go." Then he left Draco with the eggs.Arriving at the gathering, he walked to sit in his seat after bowing to the king."Why so late, Trick?" Gordon asked."Just taking care of a business.""From
"What if they find it, and find her, Ava?" Ken asked, worry laced in his voice.Ava shook her head. "They won't. It'll be hard to detect in her body.""But they'll feel it."Ava nodded. "They'll feel it's close if a searcher is used, but what they don't know is the inhabitor is not just any human. She's half among the dead, and half among the living, and it can only be found in her as a phantom."Ken blinked. "So, you mean it can only be clearly detected when she's a ghost?"Ava nodded again. "Yeah, Ken. If they have rights over the other side, then they can get her there. Luckily, it'll take time for them to realize that, and begin to figure out a way to get her to the other side, cause you can't kill what is already dead."Ken sighed. "I just...I still don't get it. How did she live?""I can only say she was split, but the story will be til when she comes. I told you I don't want to narrate it twice."...Emily looked at her roommate and sighed. "I don't really know why you're bei
Nora blinked, her eyes teary, and her face pouted in sadness at Layla's dead body."By the look on your face, you know her." Her partner, Evan Griffin noticed.Nora nodded. "Layla Gates. She goes to Cap. U with my daughter. They're friends."Nora frowned at the disgusting sight and squatted in front of Layla's dead body. "Who..who the hell will do this?""Rogers, Griffin! I got an ID. Layla Gates." Officer Ross came to them with a purse.Nora stood up, and they nodded. "By the looks of that. Nothing was stolen."Officer Ross nodded. "Nothing at all. The coroner will be taking the body to forensics. Something was taken from her, we just don't know what."Nora let out a brooding sigh looking at Layla. "I guess that's one way to start the investigation. Who found her?""Let me take you to her." Officer Ross offered and walked. They followed him and went to the lady standing with other cops."Hi." Nora greeted. "We're detectives from the CCPD police department." They showed their badges.
"What did you get from your mom?" Emily asked curiously.Kara looked at her. "Did you know Layla was pregnant?"Emily furrowed her brows in obvious shock and shook her head. "No single idea, and she wasn't showing any symptoms."Kara sighed. "Well, she was. And whoever killed her knows.""They took the fetus?" Emily asked in disbelief and with a frown of disgust written on her face."Believe me, I was as disgusted as you," Kara told her.Zoey sighed. "I just...I just can't believe it. Layla just died."Kara looked at her. "Well, you better. We just need to find who murdered her.""To use to boost yourself at work, or because she was a friend?" Emily asked.Kara looked at her. "A friend she was indeed. Somehow, whatever got her dead, she was responsible."Emily looked away noticing her sarcasm about the friend part. "Well, she was my friend. I need to help.""Just do your thing, Em. Just don't go kill yourself." Kara retorted in a warning gaze."This isn't a joke, Kara!" Emily attacked
Hunter shook his head in anger at the man he came to meet. "What on earth are you yammering about?"The man gulped, let out a breath, and nodded. "Dos niñas. Vinieron aquí. Nos estaban mirando. Los enviaste? (Two girls. They came here. They were watching us. You sent them?)"Hunter shook his head in confusion. "No, no lo hice.(No I didn't.)""Creo que estaban investigando. (I think they were investigating us.)"Hunter furrowed his brows wondering about his statements. He wondered who, and somehow he got a thought. It was random cause he wasn't sure, then he brought his phone out, did something with it, and show it to the man. "¿Esta chica es una de ellas? (Is this one of them?)"The man immediately nodded. "Si. Si. Ella estaba. (Yes. Yes. She was.)"Hunter sighed. "Hmm. Okay. So, cuantas pruebas tienes? (So, how much evidence have you gotten?)""Todavía no he visto a tu padre, pero... (I haven't yet seen your father, but...)" He brought out a document and handed it to Hunter. "Robé es
Kara stared at her ceiling hoping an answer would just appear mysteriously on it, but it was a joke. She wondered if she could avoid it, but then she knew she just can't. That curiosity spiraled in her to know. To just know.Makes her wonder exactly who professor Kenneth Hall is. The things he knows. And the answers she's really seeking seem to be in his palms. He happened to know more about her life, and it kinda sucks. But for some reason, if she wanted to know the truth, the whole truth, then going to him will be the next act.He was just so specific, especially about the fire monster that killed her parents. He was so specific. She narrowed her eyes suddenly beginning to try, and remember what her parents called the monster. She was sure he was called something. She sighed and decided to sleep. There's a long day tomorrow..."Don't face my wife, Gordon. Face me instead. Don't face my wife, Gordon, face me instead."Her dad's voice and her mom's cries kept going on and on in her
