Chapter 5

Ordinarily Rose would have left out the detail of the poor man who tried to feel rich but she felt like if she told Mr. Rogers about it then he would punish the man further and commend her for handling the situation. This would also give her admiration and confidence from the guests that filled the lobby at this time.

However, when Ric was brought before Johnson, he was bleeding from his nose and mouth and he was barely able to stand from all the beating. 

Mr. Johnson was shocked to see who the man Rose was referring to was. Ric had a striking resemblance with his father and Johnson immediately recognized him.

Johnson Rogers had diligently served Lord Maximilanno during his stay in Westmoreland county that when Johnson relocated to Avrilla city, Lord Maximilanno had put him in charge of most of his property in the city. That was how Johnson became a very Rich and influential man in Avrilla city.

"Excuse me Sir, Are you Mr. Ric Maximilanno?" Johnson asked Ric.

Although Ric looked nothing like the man he was expecting, the resemblance made him inquire from Ric politely.

What!?

Was it possible that Mr. Rogers was being polite to this beggarly looking man?

Mr. Rogers was known for his ruthlessneess, he didn't tolerate nonsense at the slightest bit and he was very prestigious too.

"Yes, I'm here to see Johnson." Ric nodded weakly as he gave his reply.

Immediately Johnson got the confirmation from Ric, he bowed himself ninety degrees before him.

Rose and everyone else were surprised as they watched the scene that unfolded before their eyes.

Leo and Lisa were equally shocked.

Did the mighty Mr Rogers just bow before that Poor looser?

Who was he?

Ric was a little startled by Johnson's behavior too, he never expected Johnson to be so respectful to him in public.

"Young Master, I'm Johnson Rogers and I sincerely apologize for the misunderstanding." Johnson remained bowed as he tendered his apology to Ric.

At this time everyone in the hall started whispering.

"Uncle Rogers, what are you saying? This man is just a hillbilly posing as a rich man." 

Leo was arrogant enough to confront Johnson's apology to Ric though everyone else in the lobby thought so too, but no one dared voice it.

Slap!

Johnson gave Leo a tight slap across his face as soon as he heard his words. "You b*stard I'm sure you're the one that instructed my staff to do this to the young Master." 

Slap again!

Johnson slapped Leo again in anger, he couldn't think of a worse punishment for Leo that would appease Ric.

Leo covered his face with his hands as he was filled with grievances at this time. "I'm sorry Uncle, I didn't know who he was. I must have mistakenly acted out of character."

Johnson was still fuming at Leo's statement. "I don't think you like your life or my partnership with your father, else, you would have protected the young Master with your life."

When Leo heard that Johnson made mention to his Partnership with his father, he immediately fell on his knees before Ric and begged for his forgiveness.

Even though Leo was from a wealthy background, all the wealth his family accrued was because of their partnership with Mr. Rogers. If his father heard that he had offended him then he was surely going to kill him.

"Please Young Master, have mercy. Forgive me. Please do not take any actions against my family." Leo grovelled at Ric's feet shamelessly with tears in his eyes.

Ric stared at him coldly without saying a word.

"Security, throw him out! Young Master, shall I cut off all dealings with his family?" Johnson instructed the guards as he inquired further guidance from Ric 

"Wait!" Ric interjected.

"Don't cut off any dealing with his family. He was nice to me earlier. So I have decided to serve him the same plate as he did me." Ric continued.

Leo was relieved that the young Master was a kind hearted person who wouldn't seek revenge on his family. However Johnson and everyone else were shocked at Ric's response.

Everyone waited on Ric for his verdict.

"Since you were generous to me earlier, I would let you sleep in the dog house when the dogs are released at night. Isn't that what you wanted for me?" Ric spoke directly to Leo at this time and the guests gasped.

"Until then take him and his pompous girlfriend away and lock them up till the dogs are released at night." Ric deadpanned before turning to Johnson.

"Johnson, shall we?" 

Mr. Rogers hurriedly led Ric to his office but not before dropping a warning for all the receptionists and security guards. "As for all of you that did as much as speak unkindly to the young Master, I would deal with you all later. Take those two away.

Lisa who was so arrogant earlier looked like a helpless puppy now. "Please Young Master, I promise he's not my boyfriend, I don't know him. Don't let them take me away with him. Please don't punish me with him." 

Lisa screamed and begged while the security dragged her out. Itt was very embarrassing.

The reception lobby was quiet as everyone made their way to their rooms in Silence.

Johnson proceeded to show Ric around the Resort before he told him a little about himself. Honestly, Ric didn't expect Johnson to be so loyal to him because Johnson looked very domineering.

It was at this time that Ric understood that Johnson had been very poor when he went to Westmoreland county, he had served Lord Maximilanno diligently and earned his trust.

However, when Johnson relocated to Avrilla city to start a life, Lord Maximilanno had put him in charge of most of the property in the city.

Ric also discovered that these property were all in his name so in the actual sense, Johnson was just a caretaker for Ric's property. 

Johnson also told Ric about the Hemsworth board and informed him that he would need to formally complete all procedures the next day.

After this Johnson brought Ric to the Chairman suite and set up a table for him.

The chairman suite was characterized by its luxury and finesse. Ordinarily no one could reserve the Chairman suite no matter how wealthy they were.

The chairman suite was specifically reserved for the owner of the hotel.

The table had the "Mole Poblano," a luxurious Mexican dish. The complex sauce combined chili peppers, chocolate, and various spices, creating a rich, velvety texture. It was served with tender turkey, offering a harmonious blend of savory and sweet flavors.

Ric immediately started eating his meal hungrily since he was starving. He hadn't eaten anything since he was discharged from the hospital so his stomach was already growling.

"Sir, should I bring some of the documents containing the different partners and group of companies under the Maximilanno family for you to acquaint yourself with?" Johnson asked politely.

"No please, I would like to shower and rest a bit first. I will go through it later in the evening."

A thought flashed across Johnson's mind.

"Mr. Maximilanno, please I'll be back."

"Please, call me Ric." Ric chimed in immediately.

After that Johnson left the suite and made a call "All of you in my office now!"

Then he headed to his office.

Ric didn't know what Johnson was up to so he busied himself with his meal.

Ric would have never dreamt that he would be such a rich and powerful person. However, one thing bothered him greatly.

Could an ex-convict be allowed to be chairman of the Hemsworth board? He made a mental note to ask Johnson when he returned but as for now he was going to enjoy the luxury of this room.

Even if he wasn't going to be the chairman of the Hemsworth board, the money in his Diamond card was more than enough for him to spend In his lifetime.

Also, since the Serene Resort was also owned by him he could use the revenue to start up a personal business for himself and succeed with Johnson's assistance.

Ric took off his dirty clothes and admired the suite before proceeding to take a shower.

The chairman suite featured plush, velvet furnishings, a king-sized bed with high-thread-count linens, and a crystal chandelier casting a warm glow. 

The Floor-to-ceiling windows offered panoramic views, while the marble accents and gold trim exuded elegance. 

Ric opened the wardrobe doors to find a pair of slippers, bath robes and several clean white towels. The bathroom equally had all kinds of bath gels and shampoo.

However, when Ric finished from the bathroom the door of the Chairman suite was pushed open and about five or six beautiful ladies filed in.
