CHAPTER 13

“Whhhooooaaaaaa!!”

The rest of the crowd exclaimed in great shock. Did this man just throw out the hefty barbarian through the window with a single punch?

As the remaining two members of the gang saw that their boss had just been defeated, they ran to attack Rakeh and his friend.

The first one agitatedly came closer to Tydeus, but Tydeus immediately stood up from his chair and collided with his jaw using his head. This impact instantly brought out four teeth from the mouth of the gangster as he fell on his groins.

The rest of the crowd in the bar burst into laughter as they saw this.

The second gangster became confused, he didn't know who to hit, maybe Tydeus or Rakeh.

He immediately faced Tydeus and began throwing punches at him. Tydeus stood his ground with his cup of wine as he dodged all the punches without flinching.

As the gangsters kept throwing punches but kept missing everything, the crowd began laughing. Tydeus came close to the gangster again so he could land a hit, but he kept missing as Tydeus dodged them, sipping his wine from his cup.

“Just hit him already, gangster!” Rakeh shouted jestingly at the gangster.

The whole crowd continued laughing; even the young man who had been beaten to the ground burst into laughter as the gangsters became tired and bent down to his knees trying to catch his breath.

Tydeus, with his cup in his hand, came close to the gangster and said to him gently, “That's enough; I will give you a chance to walk out of here now with your bones complete. Now move out!”

The gangster, on his knees, immediately got angry and wanted to throw another punch. But this time, Tydeus not only dodged it but carried him and the other gangster, who was still nursing his broken tooth and threw them out of the bar powerfully through the door.

The crowd in the bar saw this and all began to clap for Tydeus and Rakeh as they went back to their seats.

“So that's all we get? A round of applause?” Rakeh asked Tydeus sharply.

“Sometimes you do things, and you don't necessarily get paid in gold or coins”, Tydeus replied to Rakeh with a smile.

“I promise you, bro, this is the last time I'm fighting for free”, Rakeh said as he collected another plate of food from the bartender.

“Uhmm, excuse me. Sorry to interrupt”. A voice came from behind Tydeus.

Tydeus and Rakeh immediately looked behind them to see who had just interrupted their conversation. It was the young man who almost got beaten into a pulp by the gangsters.

“Hey young man, have you come here to spill wine on our bodies also?” Rakeh said rudely to the young man.

“No, please. Thanks for saving me earlier”, the young man replied.

“I will say you just go straight to the point, young man. What exactly do you want?” Tydeus said to the young man with a straight face.

“Oh, okay, I saw you talking about Cana previously, and I wanted to tell you something about it”, the young man replied to Tydeus.

“Oh, you know about Cana? Good! So tell us what you know about Cana”, Tydeus said as he passed a chair to the young man.

“Thank you. My name is Artecus, and I am a traveller. I have traveled to many places and I know lots of information and history about every place.” Artecus, the young man explained.

“Hmm, you know a lot of information about many countries right?” Rakeh jumped in.

“Yes, you can ask me any questions about any place,” Artecus said with a confident smile.

“So what do you want to help us with concerning Cana?” Rakeh asked Artecus curiously.

“Like I said I am a traveller, and the next country I'm trying to explore is Cana. If you guys are going to Cana, I can help you get there faster”, Artecus replied sharply.

“Okay then, what are you doing in Egypt currently?” Tydeus asked Artecus.

“I came to explore this land too but it seems there's nothing much to explore here. The entire country has been disorganized by the unending civil war”, Artecus narrated.

“So why should we need your help?” Rakeh asked the young man inquisitively.

“I have been listening to your conversations since; if you're going to get a good job as a hitman right here in Egypt, you will need an informant, someone who knows how to sneak and blend in without notice”, Artecus explained himself.

“So you're good at getting information, right?” Tydeus asked Artecus sharply.

“Yes, you can count on me. I heard you both said you are going to take one more job before you leave Egypt for Cana…”

“We can work together, get a good job done and we can go to Cana together. Sounds like a win-win doesn't it?” Artecus proposed with a smile.

“I think I like this guy already,” Tydeus said from nowhere as he gulped his wine from his cup.

“Really Tydeus? You gotta be kidding me. Why do we need an informant?” Rakeh questioned Tydeus.

“To get our missions accomplished faster, bro. We need someone who can give us intel against our opponents, someone who can help us navigate through any place”

“Someone who would study a building like the Iron Fortress, create a good escape plan, and wouldn't forget it”, Tydeus said jestingly to Rakeh.

“That wasn't funny. But I think you're kinda right though”, Rakeh replied to Tydeus.

“I believe in teamwork. I have been travelling all alone, but I think I can do better if I work with a team”, Artecus said to Tydeus and Rakeh.

“Oh well, then you…”

Tydeus was about to reply to Artecus when Sakoh's bird flew into the bar towards Tydeus.
