James was certainly fine. He deliberately let himself lose like that, willingly beaten by Max, just to make the situation seem dramatic like in a love drama. At the same time, he wanted to see if under these conditions Mia would still choose to be with him or choose to go with her family.

"I'm okay." James whimpered. It actually hurt quite a bit because he hadn't activated his protection. Max's punch really hit him.

Mia innocently helped James to get up. She put James' arm on his shoulder. Instead of feeling helped, James was worried that Mia's tiny bones would be crushed.

Max mocked the weak James.

"Mia, look how useless your husband is!" Max taunted.

Sam woke up and saw how James was doing. He stifled a laugh, his cheeks beginning to swell like balloons. He said, "Mia, what your sister said is true."

Mia glanced at Sam. He who had always been disgusted with Mia and never wanted to say hello, now seemed to be busy with his business.
