James and Mia were in the room.

"Come sit down, James!" said Mia in a soft but worried voice. Mia guided her husband to sit on the edge of the bed.

After James sat down carefully, Mia immediately opened a small cupboard in the corner of the room. The cupboard contained a first aid kit that she always prepared to deal with emergency situations like this.

Mia found what she was looking for, and immediately ran back to James' side. With gentle and loving hands, she began to clean the wound on James' face and put a plaster on it.

"I'm sorry, James," Mia said with a trembling voice. Her face looked regretful, "I shouldn't have let Max hit you like that."

James only smiled slightly, then winced as if in deep pain. "It's me who should be apologizing, Mia," he replied in a low voice, "I should have been able to protect myself and not worry you like this."

Mia shook her head quickly, "You're not wrong, James. This is all Max's doing."
