In less than an hour, James was out of Adam's room. Incidentally, Rose was still busy at her desk. She watched without daring to ask questions. Not long after, through the intercom, Adam called her to finalize the transaction with James.
Now, James stood in front of Rose, the woman smoothed her appearance, then she bowed her head slightly, apologized first for her earlier attitude, and then asked, "Mr. Connell, the apartment you booked costs 10 million dollars. Are you going to pay in full or apply for credit?"
James took out the multi-purpose payment card that the system had given him. "I will pay using this."
James hesitated slightly when he received the black card with the gold list. He didn't seem to know which bank this card was issued by. It looked quite foreign, but very luxurious.
Rose then inserted the card into the payment machine. There was a PIN code to be entered. James entered it in secret, and the transfer of funds was done in a matter of minutes. Rose had no idea that this man who looked so shabby and like he had nothing was a very rich man who could buy a million-dollar apartment without a second thought.
The payment was complete. Now, all James had to do was take care of the paperwork and other administrative matters which would probably take longer than he expected.
"I'll call you soon to hand over the apartment," Rose said in a professional tone.
James nodded as he looked out the window of Giant Real Estate's tall office. His mind drifted to his old flat, a place he never wanted to return to. Not because he was arrogant after having everything, but because the memories with Sofia were still attached to the walls. Walls that once bore silent witness to various plans to make the girl happy, before finally everything ended in a heartbreaking betrayal.
"Can I move in today?" asked James, trying to hide his impatience.
"Actually you can, Mr. Connell," Rose explained, "but the apartment hasn't been cleaned yet. We also need to make sure all the appliances and interiors are in perfect working order. At Giant Real Estate, we place a high priority on customer satisfaction and there can't be any shortcomings."
James let out a long sigh. "I don't have time. Can you hand over the keys to the apartment now? Because I need to move in immediately."
Rose nodded her understanding and said, "Just a moment, sir. I have to confirm it with my boss first."
She turned away for a moment to call Adam, with a short conversation before Rose finally turned back to James. "Can you wait a moment? The employee here, Mia Roberto, will accompany you to check the apartment."
James, though disappointed, understood the situation. He agreed to wait for Mia. "Alright, I'll wait."
The man had decided not to cause more trouble, making the decision to wait outside. However, before he could open the door, Rose, looking rather panicked, came running from her desk.
"Mr. Connell, where are you going?" she shouted as she approached.
James simply pointed outside, saying in a calm voice, "I'll wait for Mia Roberto over there. Just call me when she arrives."
Rose tucked her hair behind her ear, a gesture of obvious agitation. "Geez, Mr. Connell, why wait outside for Mia? Just wait in our lounge room, I'll take you to wait there."
James raised one eyebrow, as if questioning his suitability for the room.
Rose gave him a sweet, expectant smile. "Mr. Connell, are you still angry with me?"
James, not wanting to think too much, finally relented. "Alright, then take me there."
Rose happily escorted James to a lounge room specially designed for important clients. The room was decorated in soft, soothing shades. The walls were lined with fine mahogany paneling and embellished with elegant abstract artwork. The thick carpeted floor adds a luxurious and cozy feel to the space.
In the center of the room are several sets of cream-colored leather sofas facing an electric fireplace, providing warmth and comfort to those who wait. Small tables sit beside the sofas, fitted with modern yet functional reading lamps.
In the corner of the room, there is a bookshelf filled with various real estate literature and architecture magazines. There is also a long table topped with the latest automatic coffee machine, a selection of teas, and a small glass cabinet with a selection of wines and spirits.
The ceiling is adorned with a crystal chandelier that emits a soft glow. Views of the city can be seen through the large windows that also provide natural light into the room.
"Mr. Connell, I hope you are comfortable here. If there is anything I can help you with, please let me know," Rose said, before leaving James alone, who was beginning to feel at ease in the silence and luxury of the lounge room.
Not long after James had settled into the lounge room, a waiter came to bring him a cup of hot coffee. Next to the cup was a small plate filled with canelé, a classic French snack that was savory and sweet on the outside, and soft and warm on the inside-the perfect choice to accompany the coffee and pass the time.
James had just taken a sip of coffee when a system alert popped up on his phone screen:
[Complete your transaction today immediately, then choose a second virtual assistant who can follow you everywhere, including doing personal business].
James thought, didn't he already choose a virtual assistant, Julian? Why is he still being asked to choose another assistant? He hasn't even used Julian to its full potential because he still doesn't know what to tell her. How could he possibly want to add another assistant?
The system adds: [If you get one more assistant, god points will be added].
Engrossed in thinking about the system's commands, a woman's voice suddenly greeted him, "Good morning, Sir."
James turned his head and his eyes met a brown-eyed, wave-haired woman with a tall, slender body who greeted him. She was absolutely beautiful, leaving James momentarily stunned, watching her for longer than he should have.
The woman extended a hand, "I'm Mia Roberto, the person who's going to help you see the apartment unit you bought today."
Shaking hands, James smiled. "Nice to meet you, Mia. I was waiting."
Mia returned his smile. "I've already been informed of your situation. Let's get this over with quickly, so you can enjoy your new apartment without further delay."
They both then left the lounge room, walking through the corridor lit by the soft morning light, heading towards the apartment that would soon be James'.
James and Mia's steps were muffled by the thick ivory carpet that stretched all the way to the elevator. Mia pressed the elevator button, and the doors opened silently, revealing an interior lined with dark brown wood paneling and gold-framed mirrors. As the elevator glided up silently, James grew impatient. This was the first time he was going to see the 10 million dollar apartment he bought. The first luxurious and comfortable place for him in the 25 years he had been living. Sofia... it's a shame you left me. If you hadn't treated me so badly, we could have gotten married and started a nice, luxurious life.A soft sound of an elevator signaled that they had arrived. The doors opened, and their steps continued. Then, it stopped in front of a door made of mahogany with a chrome-plated doorknob. Mia took out an access card and pressed it against the security panel integrated into the door. At the audible 'click' the door opened.James stepped into the apartment and was mesmerized. T
James chose the second assistant. She was a woman with servant functions. She could cook, clean the house, and also if James needed she could perform sexual activities for him.The assistant was activated, she was named Freya Chiel."Greetings Sir, I am your assistant. You have given me the name Freya, that means you can call me Freya. My job is to help you."Freya then analyzed James. "Health level is good, feeling 90% good, but still needs a little help, biological needs fulfillment is poor."James is still sitting with his legs crossed watching Freya his assistant.Freya finished analyzing. She looked at James and said, "Sir, I can serve you if you wish. From my analysis, do you need a girlfriend or can you use me?"James tugged at one corner of his lips. "I don't need you for that."Freya tilted her head slightly to look at James."Never mind." James didn't want to make Freya think too hard. "I'll give you an assignment if I need you to."Freya nodded. "Very well, Sir."James then
A few weeks later after James was enjoying a comfortable life with the power of the system, one afternoon he decided to go out for a cup of coffee in a new setting.Just as the coffee was being served. He saw a couple walk into the café, hand in hand."Wow, what a busy day in the city. I didn't expect to see him again." Sofia spoke to her new boyfriend, Max, but James could clearly hear it as an insinuation.Max smiled briefly as he glanced at James. Meanwhile, James glanced at Sofia. The woman was quite eye-catching with her luxurious and elegant appearance."I'm not sure he has enough money to pay." Max whispered to Sofia then the two of them chuckled together.Sofia and Max walked to find a table for them. Coincidentally crossing James, Sofia without hesitation said, "James, I hope you're not lost here."James just smiled and replied calmly, "I've been lost to the wrong woman. It doesn't apply to choosing a cafe." Sofia was surprised by James' answer. She was annoyed. "You mean, I
James could probably just walk away as if he didn't care about Sofia. However, her anger was still so great. Sofia's beauty is no secret. She has an appeal that cannot be ignored, and she knows how to capitalize on it. In a fit of rage and wanting revenge, she decides to use her charm to persuade Max to speed up their engagement plans. Sofia is no ordinary girl to be toyed with so easily. She has honorable origins as the daughter of a well-known food and beverage (F&B) business owner in Florida, which is not to be underestimated and Max agrees with that.A meeting of the two families has been agreed upon and an engagement date has been set.Sofia had printed out the invitations and she was ready to embarrass James in return. She called James asking for a meeting and James, who was not busy at the time, agreed to meet her."Take this invitation for yourself!" she said in a loud and stern tone.James read the invitation and sarcastically commented, "Wow, are you really going to marry th
James held his forehead and was right to notice the red liquid flowing. Freya pulled James up and took him to the living room."Sir, I'll treat your wound," she said as she hurriedly prepared medicine and bandages for James."Freya, I'm fine. You don't need to bother like this." James said.Freya protested. "But, Sir, even if you have divine power, your body is still an ordinary human body. If you don't use divine protection, you will also get injured."James only smiled at Freya's lengthy explanation. The girl probably didn't know that before gaining the power of the system, she was a person who was used to getting hurt and had to ignore her wounds frequently. He didn't explain to the girl how much pain he had endured, how many wounds he had to ignore. She just smiled at the girl's concern.Freya cleaned James' wound and finally covered it with plaster. "Everything is done. Now, you should feel better, right?" she asked.James furrowed his brow. "Why are you so panicked, Freya? I onl
The next day, the man left for the luxurious building in the city center where Sofia and Max's engagement party was taking place. He arrives in a pink Porsche borrowed from the system and Julian is the driver. When he got there, he was greeted with warm smiles and hospitality from the well-dressed party staff. He was shown to his front-row seat, the perfect spot to see everything clearly.Inside, Sofia Martinez looked gorgeous with her hair in a high ponytail, showing off her slender neck. The shimmering white dress she wore made her look like a queen. The dress was designed with exquisite details, with delicate sequins and a flowing skirt, creating an elegant and luxurious silhouette. At first, Sofia did not notice James' presence. However, some people began to whisper excitedly and all sorts of rumors began to circulate around the room, saying that there was someone very handsome and classy who had just arrived there. This made her curious and she set out to find out who it was.Whe
The woman seemed to have a mysterious connection to the family, which fueled James' curiosity.James, a curious young man, had just seen the figure of the girl in the red robe passing in front of him. He wondered, "Who is she and what is her connection to the Peeter family?""System, can you identify where she went?" James asked the system, hoping to find an answer. It only took him a few seconds to get an answer.[System Information: She ran towards the park that was behind the party building.] The park was the most likely place for someone to run and hide when at a party.James, who knew the place, hurried to follow her. He was curious about what the system had said about the rare disease that the red-robed woman had. He also wondered, would he get more points if he managed to help her?Meanwhile, Arnold, the only person who knew Mia's whereabouts, looked furious. "Where did she go?" he asked, frustratedly looking for Mia who had now disappeared from his sight.James followed the di
Julian was at the front of the waiting car. He showed the demeanor of a professional personal assistant awaiting the arrival of his boss, with a calm and patient face. His posture was slightly bent forward, ready to open the car door when his boss arrived.James was already in front of the car, and Julian immediately moved to open the door. Mia, however, remained silent. She felt embarrassed, worried that James' offer of help was just a game. Hence, she was still hesitant.James again invited, "Come in, I'll take you to my apartment. There we will begin your treatment."Mia pondered for a moment, feeling ashamed if she had to go back to her father after choosing to be with James for her treatment. She finally decided to go in, and soon James followed suit. They sat side by side.Mia felt a little panicked to be honest, she knew that her skin disease was probably disgusting. She was worried that James might be able to smell the foul scent from her body. Even so, she had decided to acce
