At the sound of her name, Andrea cursed loudly and she hurriedly covered herself with a duvet.

“ Shit! Shit! Why didn't you lock the door?” She cried out at the man beside her, who hadn't raised his head from the bed. 

“ Wha…what are you doing at home by this time of the day, Nathan? Aren't you supposed to be at work?” She stammered and bowed her head in shame.

Nathan widened his eyes at the foolish question asked by his girlfriend, “ shouldn't I be asking you that same question?” He asked, disgustingly staring at the naked body he had always wished to see. Despite staying under the same roof and married for almost two years, Andrea had not bathed or undressed in his presence. She told him she was protecting her body for the right time for when they bought their house. He gritted his teeth as he saw her flaunting the nakedness he thought he was preserving for only himself.

“ Erm, I was having a little headache and Mr Felix here brought me home to rest. It's not what you are thinking, please baby” Andrea pleaded with guilt. She held her head in pain to support her false claim, but Nathan refused to be fooled by her.

He folded his fist , then he shouted in rage, “ Really? You must have thought I was foolish to make such a statement..”

Andrea wanted to give him a savage response, but the guilt and the shock from her face was wiped off, the moment she noticed Nathan came in empty handed.

“ Are you so poor that you can't afford a mere plate of ice cream? How did you plan to celebrate my birthday then?” She flared up in anger.

The man beside her raised his head, then smirked at a dumbfounded Nathan.

“ I planned to buy the Ice cream, but I encountered an unfortunate situation at the restaurant. But I had already bought a necklace as your birthday gift. It is …” Nathan opened the wardrobe, then he brought out a small box wrapped and was tied with a ribbon.

Andrea picked up a transparent lingering from the side of the bed, then wore it to cover her boobs and private parts. She snatched the box from Nathan's hand, then she tore the box open with a force. A gold necklace with the shape of a heart carved at the end fell. 

A mockery laughter came out of her mouth as she picked up the necklace, “ Is this what you referred to as ‘a beautiful necklace?’. This thing that looks like a dog chain is my gift, I just know you are the biggest idiot I have ever seen in my life. I'm sure this necklace isn't worth ten dollars. Felix here is an expert when it comes to pampering a woman. Apart from taking me out on a special date for my birthday, he brought me here and satisfied me sexually, which I know you can't do. I don't think a weakling like you can make me feel like a woman. Felix also bought us tickets for a week's vacation to Paris as part of my birthday gift. Everything costs a fortune, which you can't afford if you and your coming generation worked for a thousand years.

Nathan was in pain, he felt like his bones were being crushed and his heart was shattered.

He faced Andrea with his eyes red in anger, then he spoke with a hoarse voice, “ You really know how to break someone to his lowest limit. Haven't I been working hard to pay for the house we live in?What did I ever do to you to deserve this kind of humiliation?  You promised to consummate our marriage after paying for the house. Why did you betray me by sharing your sacred body with a total stranger?” 

Andrea scoffed and she stuffled the laughter threatening to come out of her mouth. “You must be gullible to think I will ever share my precious body with a lowlife like you. I was never serious with this marriage in the first place. You are just a pawn in my game to get what I want. I needed shelter with my family and I knew you were the only idiot that would agree to work his ass off just to buy a house for a woman you barely know” She threw the bombshell at him.

“ A what! A game? I…I don't understand” Nathan stammered.

“ I..I..I, see how you are speaking like a demented person, a moron!” She mimicked him, then she sat upright to continue.

“ Well, let me break it down to you. We were at our lowest point when I met you working with my cousin. You foolishly fell in love with me and I decided to play along with you until I get what I want. I held onto you just for me to get a better guy, and here is he. I never loved you at all.” Andrea brushed Felix's hair tenderly as she explained. Her scattered hair was flipped to the back and she confidently sat back on the bed. She was no longer ashamed of her act, so she waited for Nathan's outburst.

“ So you played me! Why did you lead me on, when you know you didn't want me? Why did you collect half of my salary whenever I gave it to you, when you didn't love me? Why did you allow me to work my ass off just to buy a house in your name, when you know you won't stay with me? You are wicked!” Nathan yelled. His eyes were filled with tears but he controlled his emotions.

Nathan knew Arthur Wilson, Andrea’s father, was scammed and this made his company go bankrupt. He was never ready to start again, so he ended up drinking and gambling. Andrea’s mother, Josephine Wilson was a full housewife so feeding became difficult for the family. To worsen their situation, the Wilson family was given an eviction notice from their house.

Andrea came to her cousin's place of work to seek help, that was when Nathan met her. He just lost his mother and he hadn't gotten over her demise. He felt lonely and he needed a shoulder to cry on. Although it was love at first sight, he felt pity for Andrea and he started helping out from the little money he earned. He couldn't believe he would be tossed aside like a nobody after the sacrifice he made for the family. 

Andrea's voice brought him back from his deep thought, “ I'm not wicked, you are the one that is stupid. If you weren't dumb, you should have realized I had no plan to make a family with you when I have never wanted to be seen with you in public. I can't even stand eating outside with you. But you have an empty brain, so I wasn't surprised you can't understand women. You are not romantic, no fun, you have body odor and yuck! I didn't even allow you to kiss me. How could you think of that as a marriage? Don't you reason at all?” She stood up from the bed to drink water from the bottle placed on the bedside drawer.

Nathan breathing increased, “ You told me I'm attractive and I have a promising future. You told me you will stand by me till I succeed, what changed? Why did you make empty promises to me?” Nathan questioned bitterly, he couldn't spit out the lump in his throat.

“ That's because I no longer find you attractive. Your look is no longer appealing to me. How will I continue to find someone with an empty pocket and low status attractive? I thought you could become rich because of how versatile you are, but that isn't happening anytime soon. You are even poorer than a church rat. You are wretched, Nathan  and you think that's ordinary? You are cursed and I can't keep on pretending to be okay with your wretched lifestyle. You never take me shopping or take me to clubs and to worsen it all, you never make me feel like a woman. Gosh, you are boring!” She described with her hands.

Felix was tired of watching the tantrum before him, so he tapped Andrea to get her attention.

“ Who is he, sweetheart? He asked

“ He is the fake husband I told you about. We had a contract marriage, so you don't need to worry about him” Andrea answered.

“ Okay. Why is he throwing a tantrum then? Shouldn't he let you go peacefully?”

Felix played with her hair passionately, then he kissed her on the lips. He stood up from his position to wear his pants, but before he could process what was happening, Nathan had already sent a hard kick to his standing manhood.

Felix cried out loud like a trapped cow as he howled in pain. He held his manhood with his hands, then he gradually knelt down in pain

Andrea rushed to Felix's side“ Are you mad? Do you want to kill him or render him useless like you? Why can't you use that useless strength you've possessed to make money, instead of attacking people unaware?” She shamelessly yelled on top of her voice.

He hissed at her, then he moved to where Felix knelt down, writhing in pain. He forcefully held his neck in a tight grip, “ How dare you kiss my wife in my presence? Aren't you scared of death?” He asked while throwing Felix dagger with his eyes, then he lose his grip on him

Nathan checked his hand and he was surprised. He didn't know where the new strength and confidence came from, because he was weak earlier. Maybe it's as a result of the aggression he felt when he saw another man openly giving Andrea the happiness he hadn't achieved since they met.

Andrea hung her mouth open in shock and she wasn't able to come up with a response.

At that moment, Josephine barged into the room. “What is this rukus all about? You didn't allow me to rest peacefully in this house. Why did you hit a man beyond your status, Nathan? Are you trying to cut off my helper’s life or render my grandchild fatherless?” She shouted at Nathan.

Nathan went silent for a few minutes to digest the new information she just heard from his mother-in-law. When he understood the message passed to him, his leg failed him, then he fell on the floor.

“ Am I not a helper or savior to this family? And what did you mean by having a grandchild? Why did I seem lost?” He asked as he darted his eyes between Andrea and her mother, expecting an explanation.

“ You aren't our savior, you are just a weapon used to accomplish my mission. Furthermore, I'm a month pregnant for Mr Felix here. He is a successful businessman and a person with affluence in this city. So if I were you, I would behave reasonably well in his presence. He can crush you without leaving any trace. Felix was the one that bought me the Porsche I am driving. He also bought the cars mom and dad drive within a week. What you can't achieve in three years of our marriage, shame on you” Andrea replied, rubbing her stomach tenderly.

The tears Nathan withheld in his eyes started dropping uncontrollably. He pointed at Andrea and her mother, “ You are evil and you aren't supposed to be living among mankind”

Josephine hissed, and Andrea scoffed, no atom of remorse was seen on their faces. Andrea brought out a medium sized brown envelope and he threw it at Nathan. 

“ I want these divorce papers signed before the end of today. I have withdrawn the little savings you have in your account, that will be my compensation for sharing the same room with you. I have signed my part, so let us meet at the court tomorrow by two In the afternoon to finalize our divorce. When you are done, pack your things and leave this house. I will get married to Felix, then move into his mansion, but my parents don't need a nuisance like you in this house. They both need their privacy. I hope we never meet again, Nathan” Andrea finally revealed her plans leaving Nathan to be dumbfounded.
