Chapter 03

Davinc - [P.O.V]

I followed Vida looking around this mad mansion.

It looked like a paradise on earth.

Something still bothered me about the marriage but I tried to take my mind off it.

Because it reminded me of my abandoned pasts.

We soon reached her room.

She turned to look at me.

"Tell me... What exactly do you want?" She asked.

"Nothing." I said back to her.

"Oh common... Don't flatter me... Everyone usually wants something..." She said looking at me.

"So speak already!" She said getting upset.

I could see how worried she was.

She looked at me like some sort of leech.

"Is it money you want?" She asked.

"No... I didn't say I want that." I replied.

"Oh then you want a contract?" She asked.

"No..." I said in-between her words.

"Fine... I would give you a million dollars... Tell everyone the document was forged... We'd go to a court and divorce and you can go with a million dollars... Even your aunty will be proud." She says holding my palm in hers while looking at me.

Her puppy dog eyes though... I almost agreed but this was not going to ensure my safety out there.

If only she knows that I am the next mafia lord.

I wondered how the situation was going to be.

If only she knew I was a deadly cultists... I wondered if she would be able to hold me like this.

She noticed I was looking at her fingers.

I grabbed them gently as it reminded me of my junior sister and tears immediately drops from my eyes.

She immediately tries to released her hand from mine but only the right hand slips out as I was still lost in the thoughts of my junior sister.

I wondered if she was safe.

"Let me go!" She said before she lands me a slap.

I immediately was brought into reality.

"Jeez!... You want sex?" She asked.

I looked at her as she walked away.

"Look at me... I might be your wife but mark this words... I will never go so low to let you have me... Never!" She says looking at me.

"But if you want sex that badly... I could arrange you with a model... So afterwards you can leave... Deal?" She said stretching out a hand shake.

"I'm sorry... I am content." I said back to her.

"You know what... Fuck you!" She said looking at me.

"Do you how hard I worked to be the woman I am today... And you just come from nowhere... To take over my life... Never." She says looking at me.

"Plus we can't sleep on the same bed... You can use the floor." She said leaving the room.

"Wait..." I said and she stopped.

"Finally... Ha!... For a moment there... I thought you were going to refuse the one million dollars just to stay." She says and I smirked looking at her.

"I don't need your money... I just wanted you to know that I won't do anything you don't like... I mean... I know you're every man's dream... But I know why I am here... And trust me... Marriage was my least idea... I just hope we could atleast get to know each other." I said walking towards her.

"I respect your personal boundaries." I said only to slip over the tiled floor.

I was falling over her... Unable to stop myself.

I grabbed her waist while in motion.

Our lips touched each other so Softly and intimately as I looked into her eyes with my heart pounding heavily for what had just happened.

Did I just kiss her?

After telling her about personal boundaries.

Her eyes were wide open in shock.

"Get off me!" She yells and I immediately got up... Supporting her just before she gives me another slap to my face.

"Why did you do that?... That was my first kiss!" She said to me as her father comes in while my phone alerts in return... It's Catherine.

I opened the text to see her message.

"Davinc... The bullet fired at me was poisoned... Find me with the map okay." Catherine messaged.

"Sorry I have to go." I said leaving the room.

"And never you return!" Her father warns.

I smiled before I turned to look at him.

"Sir... With all due respect... Your daughter is indeed beautiful... I will respect my boundaries... But least you forget... That she's my wife." I said to him causing him and Vida to open their mouths in shock.

"We'd see about that." I heard him murmur from behind me as I left.

I soon left the mansion... It was heading to evening hours already... I needed to be fast to return home.

Catherine needed me.

While following the map... I finally got to where she was at... In a street by the road side.

I rushed to her, carrying her over myself.

"I couldn't go to the hospital Davinc... I was scared that they mafia clan would find me... I'm dying Davinc... It hurts so much." She says in tears.

I looked at her arm.

"Have you removed the bullet yet?" I asked her.

"No... I couldn't... It hurts too bad... So I called my friend... He's a medical doctor." She said to me.

"Are you sure... We can trust him?" I asked her.

"Yes." She replies me.

I held her to myself as tears rolled off my eyes.

"Catherine... You're a strong lady okay... Let's hope he comes." I said keeping her on my lap.

A man then walks towards us crippily.

"Edward... Finally... Let's get done with it." She said to the man who immediately supported her.

"My place is not far from here... Let's take her there." He said and I followed his words.

We had soon reached his place where she was placed over a bed before her cloth was torn open to reveal where she had been shot.

"Oh my god." He said as I closed my mouth with my hand in shock staring at her arm.
