2023-04-11 23:19:28Griffin Wright had a lot on his mind and he found it difficult to think about how his life would turn out after this event.
" I've given her all my life. I've used all my entire life to think about her and the only thing that kept me going was the love I had for her. How am I suppose to live from now on?" Griffin was in a great dilemma and he wished it was all a dream... a bad dream.
Everything had been so hard on him since he dropped out few years ago to help his girlfriend as there was no one for him. He got lost when he was a kid and his foster parents were no more, leaving him to cater for his and his girlfriend's expenses but he kept enduring everything, no matter how hard it was because he believed he was the happiest with a girlfriend who truly loved him unknowing to him that he was just a fool who had been fooling himself for the past two years.
" Two years. Good 2 years! I thought I was the only one she loved but I've been fooled! I was f**king fooled! The heck have I done to myself?!" Griffin cried! He paid no attention to the people beside him as he cried in agony.
It was okay to be poor when his girlfriend was in his life but everything came falling on him the moment she left him and he could vividly feel the heavy weight on his shoulders. He felt stuffed! His heart was palpitating vigorously and the pain in him was immeasurable.
He grabbed his chest and made a painful face. " I never knew heartbreak was this painful. I'm suffocating. " He mumbled while trying to steady his breathing that had already turned haggard.
Griffin never thought there would be a moment in his life when he would feel heartbreak but this happened to him? That too, at the hardest phase of his life! He felt like life was cruel. He felt like fate was cruel! How could nothing work for him? What had he done wrong?
" What have I done wrong?!" He cried in his head!
Griffin believed so much in his look as he knew only a handful number of men was handsome enough to compare themselves to him but he still worked hard to be rich... why was nothing working well for him?
" I kept working. I continued working, thinking everything would be okay one day but why? Why is this happening to me now?"
He was still deep in thought and dwelling in his own sorrow when he heard sound behind him and he turned his head to see what he was but his eyes twitched when he saw what it was.
A luxury car which was even more expensive than Benedict's car parked right beside him and he took a step back. He did not know it but he already had a thing against luxury cars the moment he watched Benedict drove off with his girlfriend and seeing another luxury car parking beside him ruined his mood!
" Argh! Crazy!"
He rolled his eyes and cursed inwardly as he turned his back to leave. He knew he would keep seeing luxury cars and his mood would keep getting damaged and he had to leave if he wanted to live.
" I gotta get outta here!" He muttered and graoned.
He stopped in front of his car and let out a deep breathe. Looking at his car and comparing it with those luxury cars broke his heart badly. His life had truly been a mess! Pushing it all behind him for a moment, Griffin decided to get home before thinking more about his new life without his girlfriend when he heard the sound of door opening and he looked back~
" Are they..." He stopped...
A young pretty girl stepped out of the luxury car and some huge men also came down. They walked over to the girl and bowed a little before turning their head to Griffin's direction. They stared at him for some seconds and glanced at each other.
They said something to each other before they all nodded and the girl took a step forward while the men quickly took position behind her and they all walked toward Griffin.
Griffin took a step back as he watched them walk toward him. " What are they doing? Why do I feel like they are coming to me? What for?" He kept asking himself as he looked at the girl and the two men.
" Did that Benedict guy send people to me to give me money so that I can leave his girlfriend alone? Does he love her that much that he is going to act like all those billionaire in movies and give me money?" He was so confused that his mind was already running wild but he had no intention of stopping or cautioning his mind.
He cleared his throat and stood right " I should take the money and take care of my debts. I already lost her anyway and I have nothing to my name. She already sees me as shameless anyway and I don't think there is anything bad in being totally shameless " He told himself and waited for the people to get to him.
The lady walked majestically and stood in front of Griffin. She bowed a little and her lips curved into a sweet smile like she was some rich professional secretary! She sized Griffin up from his head down to his legs and her smile widened " You really are the one. Your looks says a lot " She mumbled politely. " Are you Mr. Griffin Wright?"
" Mister? This is the first time I will be hearing someone call me Mister. What's all these about? Who are you?" Griffin wasn't going to act all nice to the people who took away his girlfriend even if they had money!
" My name is Emily and I'm here on behalf of your father; Mr. Edward Devon. He asked me to lead you to your rightful place. " The lady explained and Griffin raised a brow.
His father? He had no father. He was found missing when he was young and he heard nothing about his father since then. What was this?
" Are you sure you are not wrong? Maybe you are mistaken?" He asked but Emily shook her head and smiled gently.
" We've been looking for you for a year, so, we can't be mistaken and you look so much like your father. Take, this is a card that contains 100 millionaire dollars and a badge that identify you as a member of the family. You can come to us whenever you are ready. " Emily explained. It seemed like she did not want to rush Griffin at all because she understood how hard it would be for him to accept new identity when it was so sudden.
" Why is so many things happening to me today? Is this all a dream or reality? What's all these for goodness sake?"
Griffin was conflicted. Only God knew how much he had searched for his parents and how much he missed them but he had always failed. His father, Edward Devon, the richest man in the whole world with over 10 trillion asset?!
Does that mean he would be the heir?
" As the heir of the Devon's family, we will be expecting you soon to take your rightful place. " It was like the lady was listening to his thought as she explained further to him and he sighed.
He was still thinking about what to do when he saw the message from the bank where he had borrowed 1000 dollars to surprise his girlfriend telling him to pay or he would be arrested and he looked at the card with conflicted emotion~ " What do I do?"
