Chapter Forty-Seven
Two major headlines dominated the news that morning, and both brought unpleasant tidings. The first concerned Diana, while the second involved Attorney Smith.

West barged into Lady Margarita's room with an accusatory look on her face.

“How could you do this to your granddaughter? Are you this heartless?” she demanded with her arms akimbo.

“West, this is my house. Mind how you speak to me, or I'll throw you out,” Lady Margarita retorted, sitting up in bed, clearly just awakened.

“You might as well throw everyone out and have the whole place to yourself! I believe you would prefer solitude in your old age. What I will not allow is you blocking the way for my children.” West stormed out angrily, slamming the door behind her.

Lady Margarita smiled smugly. She suspected what West was referring to but decided to confirm by checking her phone. Upon seeing the headline she was expecting, she dialed a number and waited for the receiver to answer, wearing a satisfactory smile all the while.
