8. First Million Dollar Investment

Chapter Eight

“What should we do Xander? I have some money with me but it won’t cover all these. I will have to call home and it will take some time “ said Zion

“Don’t worry , just trust me Zion” said Xander.

Xander didn’t say anything to the waiter and the security men, he just put his hands in his pocket and brought out his black card and gave it to the rude waiter.

The waiter’s hands were shaking when his eyes were laid on the black card, he collected the black card with trembling hands. He has worked in the luxurious Royal Castle Restaurant and he knows that only the extremely wealthy people which make up 1% of the world have access to a black card.

“I am so sorry Sir, please forgive me” stammered the waiter which shocked Zion and the security men

“Should we arrest him?” Asked one of the security men

“How dare you ? You both should apologize to this powerful gentleman immediately or we neither lose our jobs'' said the waiter and the security mens eyes widened in shock as the bowed down and asked for Xanders forgiveness

“Forgive us sir for acting on impulse, have mercy on us” they said with a shaky voice. Getting a job in the Royal castle is not easy and their lives will be ruined if they get fired.

“Where did you get that card Xander?” Asked Zion unbelievably

“Don’t worry, I will explain everything to you after I settle this drama “ answered Xander before he turned around to look at the waiter who looked like he was about to shit in his pants.

“I need to see your manager or the owner of the place,” said Xander. On hearing this the waiter and the security knelt done in their feet and started begging with tears

“Please forgive us”

“Don’t make the manager fire us”

“We promise not to look down on anyone again or be rude “

“Have mercy on us young master”

They kept crying and begging which is becoming irritating and distracting the other customers that are trying to have a peaceful meal, their pleading for help even overshadowed the classic piano music that is playing in the background.

“What is going on here?” Came a voice which seems to make the waiter and the security men more scared.

“So sorry Sir, we have sinned against guy and shan’t the restaurant “ said the waiter bowing to the middle aged man that came in with two bodyguards behind him.

“I am Duke Ambrose and I own the Royal Castle. I am here for my monthly supervision and he wants to know what’s going on here and why my employees are making a scene ?`` The man and the culprits couldn’t even talk or raise their heads.

“We came to eat and your employee insulted us and even called the security on us before they even gave us a chance to pay “ said Zion in a diplomatic tone as he stood up and dragged the black card out of the waiter and gave it back to Xander.

Duke Ambrose’s eyes lit up when he saw the black card and the initial on it.

“You’re fired and I will make sure that you never look down on anyone again because no one will give you a job again on my order “ said Duke Ambrose to his employees

“We are so sorry sir”

“Have mercy Duke”

“We have learnt our lessons' ' they kept begging and crying but it all fell on deaf ears.

“I give you a second to disappear from my presence or it might get bloody, '' threatened Duke Ambrose, making the waiter and security men stand up as they hysterically ran out of the luxurious restaurant.

“Forgive me gentlemen , why don’t you pay for the meal and come into my office for dessert. It’s my way of apologizing for the way my employee behaved. I am deeply disappointed in them and I apologize “ said the Duke Ambrose

“It’s alright sir, here is my card” said Xander as he gave one of the bodyguards to cash out the Money and the pay instantly went through and Xanders card was returned to him.

“I wish Ashton and his chipmunks were here to witness this !” Said Zion with a big grin as they all stood up and went to the Dukes gigantic office that had a different dining table inside.

“Get the chef to bring us today's special” said Duke Ambrose as he welcomed them in a hospitable manner, he didn’t border on their outfit or test them like small kids even though he obviously seniors them by a long short.

They had some small talks about the weather , politics and Princeton University. Duke Ambrose is also an alumni of the prestigious university.

“Thank you for the delicious desert” said Xander and thee Duke nodded

“I will let the chef know so that he can keep up the good job” said Duke Ambrose and Xander cleared his throat going into a business mood.

“I will like to buy your restaurant “ Said Xander with all seriousness

“Are you fucking out off your mind Xander?” Shouted a shocked Zion.

“Please pardon my friend here for using curse words. His name is Zion and he will be my lawyer henceforth” said Xander which made Zion totally speechless that he had to shut up and let Xander continue speaking.

“Why?” Asked Duke Ambrose

“Because it’s a good business investment. You just made 33,000 dollars from me in a single day and it’s not even the festive season of the year. I wonder how much you make daily and by the end of the month. This is a profitable business and I believe that it won’t die or go of thee market because humans must eat , plus I like the fact that it also provides job opportunities for the staff “ said Xander and the Duke listened attentively

“That’s a smart move especially for a student, you will make a good business man when you graduate “ said the Duke and Xander politely thanked him.

Xander knows that he has to prove to his grandfather, the grandmaster Kings that he is capable of starting a investments and building an apartment empire that will give out a lot of profits at the end of the day and this is his first investment….he plans to buy and own the Royal Castle Restaurant knowing that he won’t get bankrupt over this one. Rich people pay a ridiculous amount of money for food that if they eat they get satisfied and a 20$ meal can also give them the same satisfaction.

”I am not interested in selling Royal Castle besides there is a lot of paperwork involved and it’s no an easy process “ said Duke Ambrose

“I have my lawyer here,I will send down my secretary, Miss Kim and you can brief her on what to do,” said Xander, going into a business mood.

“Give me some time and I will think about it “ said the Duke

“Do you have other restaurants?” Asked Xander

“Yes, it’s a chain of restaurants in about 15 cities in different part of the world and they are all in luxurious and strategic locations “ said the Duke sounding proud of his accomplishments

“Then you shouldn’t have a problem with losing one to a young star who admires you work and business ideals right?” Questioned Xander using the negotiation skills he was taught in business school.

“Well, I will have to talk to my lawyer too” replied the Duke

“What’s your offer ? How much do you want ? Name it and it’s yours “ said Xander knowing that money has the power to change someone’s decision and he is going to use it to his advantage. Duke Ambrose obviously has money but that’s the thing about the rich people. They will always want more money.

Duke Ambrose looked at Xander for a long time before pressing Some stuff on his smart computer before he cleared his throat and spoke.

“A hundred million dollars” said Duke Ambrose. Xander kept quiet and did the maths in his brain, his grandfather gave him 500 hundred million dollars to turn into a billion in profits before he was crowned as the heir to the King's multi billionaire company.

“500 thousand dollars seems fair “ said Xander

“I am not selling my distinguished and renowned restaurant in distress, it’s okay if I don't want it. I admire your courage and zeal and that’s why I am agreeing to this offer in this first place “ said Duke Ambrose

“600 thousand dollars immediate payment “ said Xander

”5 million dollars“ said Duke Ambrose bringing down the prize drastically which is a good sign for Xander

“I will pay 1 million dollars Duke Ambrose” said Xander playing the game

“You have to pay delayers , new deeds and all other things from your pockets.You will also start paying the staff from your earnings “ explains Duke Ambrose

“My secretary will work on that “ said Xander

“3 million dollars and that’s my final offer” said Duke Ambrose with an air of finality.

“It’s a deal!” Xander said, sounding so excited , this was his first deal as a billionaire heir and he smashed it without any help from his grandfather.

“Nice, doing business with you young man. Do out in a good word for me when you meet grandmaster Kings” said Duke Ambrose after the both exchanged a firm handshake

“How did you know ?” Xander asked because he can’t remember introducing himself , yet this man treated him with utmost respect.

“Only members of the Kings empire have access to such black cards and we are honored to have you here , once again sorry for the way my employees behaved in your presence “ said Duke Ambrose, shaking both Zion and Xander again.

“It’s all in the past , I look forward to doing more business deals with you in the future “ said Xander

“The pleasure will be mine, feel free to call me anytime” said Duke Ambrose while stretching his hands to give Xander his business card.

“We would like to take our leave now. My secretary will use the information on the card to contact you and we can settle everything legally” said Xander in a business tone.

“Of course, I would like to invite you over to my house for a celebratory dinner where I can connect you with other business moguls and not just their sons . That way, you will have more connections and networks” said Duke Ambrose

“I will appreciate that” said Xander sincerely before he and Zion stood up to leave the Royal Castle Restaurant

“Feel free to come with your friends and your woman” said the Duke slyly , after calling thier attention at the exit door.

“I don’t have any woman” replied Xander wondering why everyone is suddenly interested in the woman in his life while in the real sense , he has never even dated anyone. No lady wanted to date a broke orphan.

“That’s good news and quiet shocking especially for such a fine young man like you ” said the Duke, sounding excited with a calculative look in his eyes .

“That was amazing! That was crazy! Dude , what in my wildest dreams and imagination is going on! And did I mention the fact that you killed it there! You’re like a real business mogul ….guess all those theory and statistics studies weren't in vain!” Said Zion sounding genuinely excited and happy for his friend .

“Thank you Zion for sticking by my side and not getting embarrassed of being friends with a poor university janitor like me” said Xander but the humble Zion just brushed it off

“But really, talk to me. What is going on? Where did you get all the money from and who is the grandmaster Kings ? Please don’t tell me you did something illegal or fraud anyone ? I know you as an upright young man. But before you answer, can I touch the black card and see how it feels ?” Said Zion excitedly patting Xander on the shoulder.

“Here is the card” said Xander, giving Zion to hold and feel it. Zion is not from an extremely wealthy family but he came from a well to do family where both his parents are lawyers and they have a private chamber but he is so humble and down to earth.

“Cool, now you can answer me and please be honest with me. I deserve to know the truth as your friend” said Zion returning the black card to Xander

“You won’t believe this but I just found out that I am a billionaire heir overnight” Xander said honestly , he and Zion are good friends and he trusts him but Xander got a very crazy reaction from Zion when he told him the truth.
