"Sis, I don't mean to be rude to you but I just have to say it, your behavior at the last meeting was very unacceptable. We were in the middle of a very crucial discussion and you just walked out on us.""I didn't mean to, I just had to attend to something super urgent." She apologized to her brother and turned to her mother who had refused to meet her gaze since she arrived. " Mother, I know the situation of things aren't smiling at the moment but I want you to know that I am fully with you.""If you want to prove that you are indeed with this family, then you will do what I asked you to." Blanche said with a frown."I can't."She finally looked at her. "Well why the hell not?!" "Because I sold the company." Ivy admitted with a low whisper."What! You…sold MY company?!" "Technically mother, it's my company…amd I sold it because I needed the money urgently.""What?! When did you start doing things behind my back? You sold off my company, the company your father and I worked for and
Lucas sat alone in his king-sized office, it felt peaceful once he was back in the comforts of his empty office. The meeting hadn't gone as he expected."I hear you're the one closest to the CEO (chief executive officer), is that true?" A short, pot-bellied man asked. "I am sure you know who I am. My name is Simon Orlando, I have been partners with this very company for quite some time now. Close to five years if I'm not mistaken, and we've never had any problems." There was no need for an introduction but he kept on going on about who he was and what he did."I know who you are Mr Orlando, what I still don't know is the reason for this meeting and that's what I'm more concerned about." He knew the reason they were all gathered, he just wanted to hear from the horse's mouth."To show my appreciation to you for your hard work, I would like to offer a new company car." He raised a car key to show everyone present. "A Lamborghini Veneno." He announced with pride.Lucas's eyes widened mom
As evening casted her shadowy garment, when the breeze became brand-new and placid, the time of joyful reflection had arrived. He needed to clear his head, and so he dashed out, plodding into the silent street of their little town. He decided to take a slow walk, one that wouldn't lead him down the busy areas where shops and bars and restaurants dominated the surrounding, as well as the location that habited the crowds. He needed to think straight - alone. The cool breeze pricked his skin, holding the scent of earthy fragrance around the surrounding. His wife was a lovely woman, the only problem was her family. When Lucas was only ten, the Mochi family had taken him in and since then, adopted him. They weren't nice people and often treated him poorly but he had always believed their hatred towards him was because he and their daughter had fallen in love, and ran off to do a secret wedding. ✩★✩ Ivy patiently awaited the arrival of her husband and not more than thirty minute
"What did my mother do?" She asked as she stood by the entrance."Ivy, when did you get back? I thought you went for a walk." Lucas immediately got to his feet."What did my mother do Lucas?" She repeated the question, tears already blurring her vision."Nothing, she didn't do anything." He treid to sound casual but she could see the unmistakable look of fear in his pale blue eyes, fear that she might have found out something."What are you hiding from me Lucas?" She questioned with trembling voice."Nothing.""Detective Jones, what are you doing here?" "We were just discussing the progress of the investigation.""Do not lie to me, I know what I heard Lucas." This was the worst way she could find out something so huge, and it was definitely not the way he intended on telling her. "Look Ivy, there's no easy way to say this but–""While I was investigating," detective Jones interrupted, drawing her attention to him. "I found out that your mother was an acquaintance to the main suspect
Ivy was alone, again. Ever since her accident, she was always indoors. She couldn't go to work, neither could she go for her occasional strolls. She really hated being confined to that stupid chair.Doctor Julie said she was getting better, but she didn't feel any different. Sure she was starting to regain her sense of feeling in her legs, but they were still too heavy for her to move. She felt so helpless. She heard her mother's usual three knocks on the door and she went to open the door. "My Darling, are you okay? How's the fever?""Better mother." The reason for her obvious concern was because Ivy had called her mother earlier that she was sick and she needed her mother's care. "Thank you for coming so early." She said, even though her mother wasn't really early. She had called her by seven thirty, before Lucas left for work. And she was only arriving, nearly four hours later."Anything for you my dear." She dropped her bag on the center table as she settled on the couch. "I broug
The cold in the room suddenly snapped at Lucas, his whole body shivering. He was happy, but at the same time, it was almost too much. "You want me to reclaim the family's fortune, now?" He asked, his pale blue eyes staring brightly at his butler. Of course that would someday have to happen, if truly he was the son they'd all been searching for. Only, he wasn't ready yet. It wasn't really something he'd ever prepared himself for. After all, no one had suddenly woken up to the realization that they might be the son of an insanely rich family! Grover on the other hand, he begged to differ. "Sire, this household has been waiting for you for years now. It is time." In his voice came confidence and determination. He knew he could die anytime soon, in fact, he was ready to. Only, his promise had to come to fulfillment. And that would only happen if Lucas agreed to reclaim his family's fortune. "Okay, if that's true then," the younger man said, leaning forward in the comfortable chair.
