178. Betrayal.

"There's been a new update." The officer in charge of Kelly's case announced. "The new autopsy we carried out shows that Miss kelly Jacobs died of poisoning." He said like it was nothing.

"So it means my client is innocent." Mr Manning said as he scanned through the autopsy result.

"It appears so." The officer didn't look particularly pleased that Lucas was innocent. He was probably satisfied that he had caught a culprit and solved the case but now things were different.

"So I'm free to go now?" He asked, eager that the whole thing would be behind him now.

"Yes sir, we're sorry for the inconvenience." It was very obvious that the apology was hollow.

"It's alright, I'm just glad that I get to go home without having to worry about coming hack here."

"If I may ask, have you been able to apprehend the real culprit?" Mr Manning asked, looking serious.

"Not yet, but we're working on it. But my advise for you Mr Williams, is that you be careful from now on."
