29. Decision.

"Is everything alright sir? You seem troubled." Mike asked.

Troubled was an understatement. He was more than troubled, he was anguished, disconcerted, distressed and above all, he was scared.

Scared of losing his child, sacred of losing his wife, his family. He was scared.

"Is it Ivy? I thought the doctor said she was recovering."

"She is…she was."

"Was?, what happened? Talk to me Lucas."

For the first time Lucas looked up at mike, he had never called him by his name before. He looked worried as he stood over Lucas. "You must be really worried about her."

"I am, but I am also worried about you. I've never seen you this way before and it's bothering me."

Lucas tried to smile but his face wasn't ready to cooperate. "It's fine, I'll take care of it."

"You better."

This time, he managed to laugh at his warning. "Thanks Mickey." Mike smiled at the nickname but it didn't last long and was replaced by his worried look. "I need to go somewhere real quick, please handle things here for me wh
