38. Pleasant Season.

Lucas watched with genuine happiness as Ivy caressed her legs, smiling to herself. She had gotten her first cramp earlier that day and she was thrilled. She was recovering faster than he expected.

"Having fun?"

She looked up at him, giggling like a child. "Yeah, I am."

He sat on the sofa next to her and took her small hand in his. "See, I told you you were going to recover faster than you know. I wasn't wrong now, was I?"

"No. You really don't know how happy I am Lucas. I thought I was going to be confined to that chair all my life."

"I didn't. I knew you were going to walk, and run again. I never lost faith in you for one second. I knew you were a strong woman, and that you were going to pull through."

He had to admit, there were some times he almost lost faith but he had to remind himself who he was married to.

"Thank you, I don't know what I would do without you." She hugged him and rested her head on his chest.
