40. Reconciliation.

Lucas sat awake in the pitch black room, he was having a hard time falling asleep. The fact that he might have a sister still bothered him greatly.

If this sister was real, where had she been all these years? Was she older than he was?, was she still alive? Would she recognize him if they met?

There were so many questions on his mind and he desperately wanted answers to them. He quietly got up, trying not to wake Ivy but just as he was about to get up, he heard her sleepy voice.

"Are you going somewhere?"

He should have known she would wake up, Ivy had always been a light sleeper. The slightest sound or movement could wake her up. "I just need a glass of water. Do you want anything?"

"No, just hurry back."

"Alright." Ivy was afraid of the dark so she always had trouble sleeping whenever it was dark, and Lucas on the other hand, couldn't sleep with the lights on. They concluded that she would let him turn off the light on the condition that he stayed with her all through the night.
