A Date

"Did I have one?" I hummed as gentle chuckles washed over me.

"Nope, I didn't because the marriage was still on." I finally let him out, his face tinted with dissatisfaction and glimmers of hope.

"How faithful my son is, I guess I will love to see you go out with someone." His tone was mixed with determination and vulnerability.

"Dad, what are you talking about? Go out with someone?" My tone is neutral but probing. I couldn't dig into the fact that he's just trying to set me out on a date, or maybe just my illusion.

"Yes, I will like you to go out with my friend's daughter, you don't have to worry, she's of high standards like yourself. She's into business and also has such a tight schedule that her father has started to get worried that she needs to settle down. I think she'll be the right choice for you" I watched him speak, as though it were annoying that he's trying to match me with someone.
