“We need to split up now!” Marcus howled at his friend Sam as they ran deeper into the forests, turning back occasionally to shoot at the men who were heavily coming after them.

“Why?” Sam shrieked, trying to take cover behind a tree bark as a bullet came flying towards them.

“Durk!” He yelled at Marcus and Marcus lay down flat and the bullet landed on a tree bark, piercing through it.

Marcus quickly aimed and fired at the shooter's leg. The shooter groaned as the bullet hit his left foot, causing him to collapse to the ground in a thud.

His loud groans filled the air. He was the last man who was close to them. Others were far off and Marcus and Sam could not keep waiting till they got to them.

“That was close…” Sam grinned from the shock he felt and pulled Marcus up.

“These men are dangerous yet weak and not entirely trained,” Marcus said, and they both scoffed at the wailing one.

The men were not that close anymore but they needed to make a decision fast.

“Why do we need to split up

Sam raced back to the location where he heard the gunshot come from. The forest was large and finding it was a bit hard but when he got there, he was relieved to find Derek holding his bleeding arm and Marcus was surrounded by the Police.“Oh… good gracious,” he exclaimed as he got closer to them. “I heard the gunshot and I thought they'd killed you,” Sam howled, getting closer to Marcus.“He would have,” Marcus replied with a smirk, “unfortunately for him, the police closed in and fired at him faster than he could at me.”“Hmm…so much for your years of training Mr Derek,” Sam cajoled and he and Marcus began to laugh.“Make fun of me all you can, gentlemen. I'd eventually get the last laugh and I will laugh it best.”He sneered at them and smiled maliciously.“You think so highly of yourself Derek,” Marcus mocked him and shifted closer to him. “He is government property now,” he declared loudly, motioning for the police to come and put him in the cuffs. “He has got a lot of answering

The search was endless and was beginning to seem futile. Frustration was building up within Marcus and the police officer and Sam. There was no sight of the ladies anywhere.“The cruel fellow said we have only five minutes. We are already two minutes less!” Marcus groaned. He was deeply worried about the safety of the girls and would not want anything to happen to them.“We are trying sir,” Sam reminded him subtly. “We just need to maybe split up again,” Marcus suggested, taking the right turn even before others agreed to the split up suggestions.“What exactly are we looking for? As in, in what condition did he leave them?” The police officer asked Sam as they went ahead to the left.“I doubt that he mentioned that. It cannot be a very good condition. I am thinking they might be locked up in an underground basement around here, a cave or a van.”“Keep your eyes on the game, both of you,” Marcus warned and kept going farther into the bush.He was not sure why he took that turn but he

It was then that fresh tears rushed down her cheeks.“You did it, Marcus…” she whispered through her tears, her lips shaking.“I suppose I did,” Marcus replied, standing up and wiping his sweaty face. “It was a bit difficult getting those wires apart. But I am glad that I could save you both.”“Thank you Marcus,” Jessica squealed, breathing heavily and trying to calm herself. “I honestly thought we were gonna die.”Marcus could not stop gazing at the two ladies. He considered them brave and could not imagine the level of risk they both took.“I will be Eternally grateful to you for this sacrifice you made for me and my friend,” Camelia wept, holding on to his legs.Marcus lifted her and have a warm hug to keep her calm. “What happened boss?” Sam asked, getting closer to him. He turned to Camelia and she knew instantly it must have to do with her.“Is my mother okay?” She asked first, tears gathering up in her surviving eye.Marcus nodded.“This is not about your mother but about everything you have laboured to reclaim.”“What about it?” She asked, turning fully to him.“The call I received was from one of my men. He just brought it to my notice that Derek's company, aka Master Holdings blew up today.“Nooo!” Camelia yelled and almost fell to the ground but Jessica rushed to her side to hold her up and steady.“Wait a minute, who planted the bomb?” Sam asked, his eyes showing his confusion.“My best guess would be that he gave the orders because I just realized that he was referring to that company as well because he knows that it belongs to Camelia's father and she would want to have it back upon her discovery by the police.”“This guy…” the police chief exclaimed, “such a master strategist. Whoever wants to come to me will have to come through you.”His agents nodded and stood on strategic corners of the building. He and the Bulldozer drivers got into a conversation.***Meanwhile, Marcus was with Luciana at his office. She had showed up immediately and she was invited by Sam.“I had the documents ready earlier last week but I noticed you were a bit busy with Camelia's case so, I had to let you handle that first.”Marcus nodded.“But, we have got to move really fast because some information reaching me now is that Magnus has gone down to that building with Bulldozers and is about to start crushing it. I really cannot let him do that.”Marcus

Thomas led his men with heavy guns and weapons of warfare as though they were going for a major battle. The instructions were given by Magnus who was too tired of being dragged back by Matthew’s existence, hence he made up his mind that the only way to maintain his claims to the building was by taking out the one man who would be called to testify in court.“When you get there, take him and his entire family out. Clear them all out, if possible, burn down their home for want of evidence destruction. Do I make myself clear?”“A whole family is about to be brought down,” Thomas sighed to himself. He had been Magnus man for quite some time and it was jobs like this that got him rethinking his job.“Be on guard guys!” He reminded his men. “This was an ex Local government officer, his house must be well guarded.”“And you're right boss,” one of his men whispered, “I see ten men, heavily armed, standing around the gate.”He has looked through the binocular lens on his gun. The evening sun cast its auburn rays into the hospital room, making the room lit with a shade of red natural light. The two friends, Camelia and Jessica were sharing a carton of Pizza and fruit blends. They had ordered it from the hospital canteens.“This tastes so good,” Jessica moaned, while taking a huge bite off her Pizza.“We are getting this executive treatment because Marcus paid for it all. Money is good,” Camelia chuckled and the two ladies laughed heartily. They were truly in their element. The news flashed with the headlines of the crimes committed by Derek and the voice notes of him taken by Camelia was played on the TV.“Look!” Jessica yelped with excitement, “isn't that Derek on the TV?”Camelia was stunned to hear the recordings playing and turned to Jessica.“Wait a minute, you saved the files I sent to you that day?”Jessica smiled heartily. She had never told her that she had the file and had in fact given it to Marcus who in turn transferred it to the police.“Yes.

Marcus hurriedly left the hospital, unable to let the ladies know why.The case before him was a very serious one and with this, his hopes of gaining the MANDIS building project was quite bleak. He drove roughly through the streets, overtaking cars as though he was participating in a car race.“I cannot believe this!” He slammed his hands on the horn, honking loudly at a driver who was moving slowly in front of him.“How did this happen?” He kept asking himself aloud, whilst navigating through the toxic city traffic.Once he arrived at his home, he turned off the car ignition and sat still for a few minutes to gather his thoughts before rushing out of the car.Sam and Uncle Richard were in the living room, waiting for him to return.Uncle Richard knew how devastating the news of Matthew's death would be for Marcus because Marcus was hoping to take back that property and Matthew was his only witness.“How the hell did this happen?” Marcus asked loudly, slumping onto his couch.“We have

With Magnus apprehended and his henchmen scattered, the sense of victory was palpable.“Is it really over?” Mara asked, her eyes reflecting the morning light.“Feels like it,” Clara replied, a cautious smile creeping onto her face. “We’ve fought too hard for this to slip away now.”Marcus stepped forward, pulling out his phone to call the authorities. “They’ll want to take Magnus into custody. This time, he won’t be able to wriggle his way out of it.”As the police sirens wailed in the distance, a mixture of relief and anticipation washed over the group. Clara could hardly believe how far they had come since they had first banded together to confront the darkness in their city.In the following days, word spread about Magnus's defeat and the disbandment of his criminal network. The community began to breathe a sigh of relie

He won’t be back anytime soon.”Marcus looked up, a thoughtful expression on his face. “We need to regroup and figure out what’s next. Magnus may be in custody, but we know he has allies. We can’t let our guard down.”Mara nodded in agreement. “And we need to find out what else he was planning. There’s got to be more to it than just controlling the city through fear.”“Right,” Clara said, her mind racing with the possibilities. “Let’s start by gathering any information we can. We need to dig deeper into his operations.”As the day unfolded, they began strategizing. Clara took charge, flipping through notes and files they had collected over time. “We need to hit his connections hard. If we can disrupt the

She glanced at Marcus, who was scanning the area with a focused intensity. “Are you ready for this?” she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.“I have to be,” he replied, determination flashing in his eyes. “For everyon

“I still can’t believe Magnus is out there,” Clara said, pacing the small room, her brow furrowed with concern. “He’s not the type to back down easily.”Marcus leaned against the wall, arms crossed, his jaw set in determination. “He’ll come back. We can’t underestimate him again.”Mara, sitting on a makeshift bench, rubbed her temples, still feeling the tension from the fight. “What if he tries to retaliate against us personally? With the remaining henchmen falling one by one, it became clear that the tide was turning. You have no idea what you’re dealing with!”“Maybe not, but I know what I’m going to do next,” Marcus said, his voice low and threatening. The days that followed the ambush were a blur of activity for Marcus, Mara, Clara, and Eli. Each moment was filled with tension, anticipation, and the weight of what lay ahead. They meticulously planned their counterattack against Magnus and his henchmen, determined to turn the tables and regain control of their lives. The small, dimly lit warehouse they had chosen as their temporary headquarters buzzed with energy as they gathered around a large table cluttered with maps, photos, and notes. Marcus pointed at a large map of the city spread out before them.“Alright, here’s the plan,” he began, his voice steady and authoritative. “We know that Magnus operates out of several locations, but we believe he’s using this old warehouse on the outskirts of town as his base of operations.”Clara leaned closer, her finger tracing a route on the map. “If we can get the jump on them here, we can cut off any escape routes they might have. It’s a perfect setup for an ambush.”“Exactly,” Marcus agree
