"Levi, did you hear that?" Brittany woke with a startle, her eyes full of fear.

"Huh?" Levi asked with sleepy eyes. He couldn't remember the last time he slept so peacefully. He did not hear any sound or feel anything.

"Wake up, I hear a sound coming from outside."

"Babe, I am sure it's just the wind. Come back to bed," he urged.

"No, I am sure I heard something. Go check it out."

"Brittany, trust me..."

Before he could finish his words, a loud bang resounded from outside.

Levi stood up immediately, finally alert.

"Oh so now you hear it! Go and check it out, let's know what is happening."

"You stay in bed," Levi advised as he stepped out of bed and slide into a pair of grey Nike slippers.

"Heavens no, I am coming with you," Brittany said as she also got out of bed and followed him.

"Okay, we both can't be out like this."

"Instead of arguing with me, lead the way and let's find out what's going on here."

They tiptoed out of their room and moved slowly to the front door.
