Chapter Two

"Stop barking!"

Levi growled, held Dustin's collar and pushed him against the wall.

His eyes were bloodshot.

"What? You pathetic trash! Wanna hit me? Well, you have an old mother living in the slum,right? Touch me one finger,you'll see what I can do!"

Levi's hands clenched into fists. His fingernails sank into his palms until his hands were bleeding.

"Don't you dare!"

"You'll see!"

Dustin sneered at Levi.

Levi glared at him,breathing heavily,loosened his hand slowly.

He couldn't take the risk of putting his mother in danger...

"One day,I'll make you regret it!"

Gritting his teeth, Levi walked out of the apartment.

He didn't want to be with the two disgusting creatures for one more second.

The sudden sound of his phone ringing brought him out of his line of thought.

"Hello," Levi said.

"Levi, I need you to come home right now." It was his mom. 

“What is it?”

"You'll know later. Be quick!" 

Levi took a deep breath, took the next bus back to his mother's house.

"Hey mom," Levi walked to her.

"Why did you call me to come back home?" 

"Because I wanted you to meet someone." 

"And who is that?" 

"Why not come into the house and see for yourself? Stop standing outside like a stranger." 

The pleasant smell that filled the room announced the presence of a rich man. He smelt like money and the man had a lot of it. 

"Mom, who is he?" Levi asked. 

"He is your uncle," his mom replied with a smile on her face. 

"My uncle?"

Since when he suddenly got an uncle? His mother never spoke of any of her family.

"Yes. He has been looking for us for a while now." 

"Levi, perhaps your mother hasn’t told you about this”,the man spoke,with tears in his eyes.

“Your mother, my sister, eloped with your father when she fell in love with him and got pregnant for him.We couldn’t find her since then,even when your grandparents died”,he paused,and sighed deeply,”You’re the only family I’ve got now.”

Levi looked at his mother who seemed sad, didn’t say anything ,waiting for him to continue.

“You see,I’m getting old. And as such, I will need to hand over my company to someone. Since I have no son of mine, I have decided to make you the president of my company so that you can start learning the ropes of the company."

“Oh,by the way, my name is Damon Gilead, but you can call me Gilead. I’m the owner of Corsair Real Estate."

"What?!" Levi's mouth fell open.

Corsair Real Estate.

That's the biggest real estate company in the province.

"You mean it?!" Levi asked, perplexed,"But I can't…" 

“You can,”his uncle smiled,”You’ll have assistance.”

"Here," he took out a card from his pocket and handed it over to Levi. 

"What's this?!" 

"That card contains 100 million US dollars for you to spend as you please." 

"Oh my God!" Levi squealed.

"Is this real?!" He turned to his mother and the woman just nodded her head with a smile on her face. 

Levi held the card in his hand firmly,saying with a trembling voice,”thank you,uncle.”

 He didn’t know what else to say. He couldn’t even believe it’s true.

And as far as he knew, Corsair Real Estate was the same company that Dustin and Ella worked for. 

What would their faces look like when they found this big surprise?

Levi couldn't hold back the uprise of the corner of his mouth.

"So what do you say?" His uncle asked. 

"I'll accept it!" Levi nodded firmly,trying to keep his calm.

"Good! We need to introduce you to the entire team then. Tomorrow by 8. Be ready. My driver will pick you up."
