As they clung to each other for support, Miller felt a surge of gratitude towards his mother. As they waited anxiously, the doctor emerged from the emergency room, his expression grave as he approached them. "Are you the family of Mr. Larkin?" he asked, his tone serious.

Miller and Mrs. Larkin nodded, their hearts pounding with fear and anticipation. "Yes, we are, I'm his wife and this is our son." Mrs. Larkin replied, her voice trembling slightly. This wasn't the usual family doctor, he had directed them to this doctor and had promised them that he was good and fit to handle Mr.larkin.

The doctor sighed heavily, his face lined with concern. "I'm afraid I have some difficult news to share," he began, his words heavy with sorrow.
