Edward was surprised by Charles' sudden outburst and felt a bit uncomfortable with the idea of someone kneeling before him. He quickly interjected, "Mr. Hurley, there's no need for that. I don't want to make a big deal out of this."

However, Charles was insistent. "No, no, no. It's the least we can do. Hugh needs to learn some respect and humility."

Hugh was mortified. He had never been asked to kneel before anyone in his life, and the thought of doing so in front of Edward was unbearable. But, he also knew that his father's condition was serious, and if Edward had a solution, they needed to hear it.

With a heavy heart, Hugh reluctantly kneeled down and apologized. "I'm sorry, Mr. Ed--- I mean, Boss. I was out of line. Please forgive me."

Edward smiled slightly and waved his hand, signaling for Hugh to stand up. "It's alright. I'm not one to hold grudges. I understand that you were just trying to protect your father."
