Part 5

Edward turned his head and saw his new friend, James, walking towards him. Edward felt a surge of relief wash over him as he realized that he might have a way out of this dangerous situation.

"James, thank God you're here. Do you have a silver membership card for the Poseidon Club?" Edward asked, his body still shaking slightly.

James nodded and pulled out a silver card from his pocket. "I do. But why do you need it?"

Edward quickly explained the situation to James, and James' expression turned serious as he listened.

On the other hand, everyone was shocked when they found out that Edward's friend was James Hurley, the future heir to the legendary Hurley family. Even for William and Harold, their faces turned as pale as white paper at this time.

On the one hand, William came from the wealthy Green family, whereas Harold was the head of the Shennan family who was respected everywhere he went. But when compared to the Hurley family, William and Harold had no other choice but to be humble.

As expected. When James looked at Harold and William, both of them were like nervous children. They could only smile wryly and were speechless.

James said with a serious look, "This matter is over here. Do you understand?"

James did not really want to swim in muddy water. He did not want to offend the Green or Shennan families for the sake of Edward whose origins were still unknown. It was just that his instincts told him that Edward was not someone he could offend, so he decided to stop the matter here.

However, Harold's pride was still hurt after being yelled at by Edward. "Since Mr. James has said so, we will not pursue this matter further, but what about your friend? He had previously said that you, as his influential friend, would pay 40 million dollars to the Poseidon Club. How will Mr. James handle this?"

"This ...." James did not know what to say. The Shennan family was one thing, but the Poseidon Club was another. Even if all the heads of the big families of York city gathered, they still would not dare to offend the Poseidon Club.

After some consideration, James brought his lips to Edward's ear and whispered, "Let me ask you seriously. How much is your money? If it is less than 40 million dollars, can you ask your family to send it now?"

James actually had 42 million dollars in his account, but he didn't want to give up the golden opportunity to assess Edward's financial level.

Edward smiled and replied in a low but clear voice, "Send me your account number. After all, I have said that you are the one who will pay for it."

James nodded and sent his account number, and by the time he found out the amount of money coming in, his hands were shaking so badly that he almost dropped his phone.

Seeing James dumbfounded, Edward tapped James on the shoulder and said, "Consider the rest as an expression of gratitude from a friend."

James felt the urge to kiss Edward. He still could not believe that Edward had just sent 200 million dollars into his account. In other words, he got a gift worth 160 million dollars!

"I love you, Ed."

"But I don't, and I won't. Now pay for it. I need to buy a house as soon as possible."

James laughed, then immediately transferred 40 million dollars to the Poseidon Club's official account.

"Uncle Harold, do you have anything else to say?" James was so happy, as if his wife had just given birth to healthy twins.

"I..." Harold Shennan took a deep breath. For him, tonight was too humiliating that he did not want to leave his house for the next three years.

Ignoring everyone, James took Edward into the building, and the first place they went was the reception desk near the entrance.

"Good evening Mr James. How can we help you?" One of the receptionists immediately greeted politely. Although she was young and beautiful, but still lacked when compared to the cashier girl at the Shennan boutique, Brenda.

"This is my friend, Edward. He wants to be a member of the Poseidon Club." On the short walk to reception, James asked Edward to join the club, and Edward agreed without a second thought.

The receptionist smiled kindly and looked at Edward. "Good evening, Mr. Edward. Would you like to hear a short explanation regarding membership cards at the Poseidon Club?"

Edward nodded and started listening.

To become a member of the Poseidon Club, there was only one requirement. Money. Regardless of position, occupation, or family background, the Poseidon Club will accept everyone as long as they have sufficient personal money.

Regarding the membership card itself, it was divided into 5 levels, namely bronze, silver, gold, black and transparent cards. Each card represents the owner's personal assets.

To get a bronze card, one must have assets of 100 million dollars, and 300 million dollars was the requirement to have a silver card. Next, the gold card was for those who have 1 billion dollars, then 10 billion for the black card.

This was how Edward found out how big and awesome the Poseidon Club was, and why gold cards were so rare. How could it not be? The difference in personal assets between a silver card and a gold card was 700 million dollars!

Edward looked at the receptionist with a curious face and asked, "So, what about the transparent card? How much personal wealth does one need to get that?"

She smiled and replied, "Well, the transparent card is reserved for only the wealthiest of the wealthy. To obtain a transparent card, one must have personal assets worth over 100 billion dollars."

Edward was taken aback. He had never even heard of someone having that much money, let alone personally possessing such wealth. It was almost unfathomable.

To join, the club would check Edward's assets first, so Edward was a little nervous.

"Do I have to show my personal bank account? Is there no other way?"

Fortunately, the receptionist nodded. "You can show the ownership data of your personal property, such as a house, car, or jewelry."

Edward was relieved, but not James.

James whispered to Edward, "Why did you choose such a troublesome way?"

Edward hesitated before finally deciding to tease James, "I have too much money."

Edward didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Too much money? Since when did a human have too much money?

Edward awkwardly told the receptionist, "I'll use the second way, but before that, I need to buy a house first. Can I ask for a little time?"

"Sure. Take your time."

Since Edward did not have a membership card yet, he could only enter the lobby. James immediately called Kieran Stone who was waiting for them in the VIP room.

As soon as Kieran received the call, he came out of the VIP room and met Edward and James in the lobby. Kieran was a tall and muscular man with a stern face. He was dressed in a black suit and had a pair of sunglasses on his face, making him look like a secret agent.

After a brief introduction, Kieran showed Edward a list of luxury houses for sale in York city. "Mr. Edward, take a look, this mansion is located in the city center and is very strategic. In addition to being beautiful and luxurious, its security is also guaranteed. For only 600 million dollars, you will----"

Edward shook his head. Although the house was nice, but it didn't seem to be satisfactory enough. "Frankly speaking, I'm not looking for a house based on location, but the level of luxury. It doesn't matter even if the house is in the suburbs."

Kieran Stone's expression changed immediately. Given that Edward was still in his prime, Kieran thought that Edward was looking for a house downtown, but that did not seem to be the case.

"Actually there is one, but ..." Kieran glanced at James, asking for an opinion.

James got it. "You mean the former residence of the Freys? It doesn't matter. Money isn't a problem for him."

Kieran's eyes lit up. If someone on James Hurley's level put it that way, Edward's family must be much wealthier than the Hurleys.

"Mr. Edward, have a look at this one. You'll love it. This magnificent mansion is located in one of York City's most prestigious neighborhoods and features intricate architectural details, including a grand entrance with sweeping staircases and soaring ceilings. As you step inside, you are greeted by a stunning chandelier hanging from the ceiling, casting a warm glow throughout the foyer. The interior is lavishly decorated with---"

"How much? I'll buy it." Edward really liked that house. After all, he did not need to skimp if he wanted to get the best rewards from the System.

"Two billion dollars. I'll help if you want to---"

"Send me the account number. I'm in a hurry."

Edward's words made Kieran feel like he had a heart condition and then relapsed. As for the super-rich James Hurley, he felt like a poor man who didn't know the vastness of the world.

James reflexively asked, "Edward, who exactly are you?"
