Part 4

Emily shook her head. "No, I don't think so. Grandpa wouldn't do something like that without telling us."

"Then, how did he get that much money? It must be from some illegal activities. That brat is no good, I always knew it," Camille said, pacing back and forth in the living room.

"Shall I call William and see what can be done?"

Camille nodded in agreement. "I almost forgot that I have a very rich future son-in-law. Quick, call him now."

"Okay."

Meanwhile, Edward was in a three-star hotel room. He chose this place because it was very close to the Shennan boutique. After taking a quick shower and getting dressed in his new clothes, Edward looked at himself in the mirror and smiled.

Edward felt good, and his clothes was perfectly tailored. His hair was still slightly damp but otherwise he had perfect posture.

"Looks like I'm ready to own a luxurious house," Edward thought to himself as he grabbed his wallet and headed out of the hotel.

Edward arrived at the Poseidon Club and was immediately impressed by the grandeur of the building. The exterior was adorned with marble columns, while the interior was even more lavish, with crystal chandeliers and gold-plated accents.

The Poseidon Club was the most exclusive and prestigious social clubs in the city. Founded by a group of wealthy businessmen and socialites, the club was known for its luxurious facilities, high-end amenities, and VIP services. It was a place where the rich and powerful came to socialize, network, and indulge in their hedonistic desires.

The Poseidon Club also was infamous for its secrecy and exclusivity, and membership was highly coveted but extremely difficult to obtain. Despite its reputation, the Poseidon Club was a symbol of status and success, and being seen there was a badge of honor for many of the city's elite.

"Excuse me, sir. Can you show me your membership card?" A burly guard asked Edward in a polite manner. This was the first time he had seen Edward, but Edward's demeanor and appearance did not indicate that Edward was a poor man.

"Membership card?" Edward frowned. Damn, I didn't know about this, he said to himself.

Edward did not know James' phone number either, so he asked the guard, "I'm sorry, but I don't have it. Can I ask you a little favor? My friend, James Hurley, is inside and he's waiting for me. Please tell him that I, Edward, am waiting for him outside."

The guard remained relaxed as he replied, "I can't leave the post. You can call your friend and bring him here."

Edward took a disappointed breath, but just as he was about to leave this place, someone called him from behind.

"Is that you, Edward? What are you doing here? Begging for a job? At this hour? Are you stupid?"

Edward turned his head only to see four people walking towards him. One was Emily's new boyfriend, William Stone, and the other was an older man Edward didn't recognize. As for the other two, Edward still remembered that they were the ones who beat him up earlier.

William came here because he wanted to discuss business with the other man, and he did not expect to meet Edward so soon. Earlier, Emily had called him and told him about the situation at Shennan's boutique. He promised Emily to take care of the matter immediately.

Seeing William's arrival, Edward's hands were tightly clenched. His gaze sharpened as he replied to William's words, "I will avenge your previous actions a hundred times more cruelly. Remember that."

Edward walked away, but William stood in his way. William arrogantly said "I honestly don't care about your existence. I don't even want to remember you. However, Emily's problems are my problems, so if you want to live until tomorrow, tell me where you can get that kind of money."

Edward glared at William, his fists still tightly clenched. "I don't owe you any explanations. And if you think you can intimidate me, you're wrong."

"I don't need to intimidate you, and I have other ways of getting what I want." With a stern expression, William made a gesture with his right hand, and his two bodyguards immediately rushed at Edward.

Smack! Smack!

However, William immediately shivered after witnessing the scene in front of him. In just a matter of seconds, Edward managed to take down both of his guards.

"This ...." William subconsciously took a step back. He would have been beaten up if Edward had been so determined to attack him.

Edward's finger joints clicked as he walked toward William. He was satisfied with the effect of the Domination Points he spent.

"Now it's your---"

"Stop right there, young man. If you proceed with your plans, the Green family will pursue you and your loved ones relentlessly. Do you truly wish to become an enemy of the Green family?" Suddenly, the old man standing beside William spoke in a serious tone.

Edward eyed the elderly man with a cold expression and retorted, "What do I care about becoming the enemy of the Green family? Are you trying to protect William? I suggest you move aside. You have no idea who I am or what I'm capable of."

Anger surged in Harold Shennan's heart. He had lived long enough, but he had never been treated like this.

"You're right, I don't know who you are, but I do know who I am. And I am not just any old man. I am Harold Shennan, the patriarch of the Shennan family."

After that, Harold Shennan took out a silver card and spoke to the security team, "For 20 million dollars, break this man's legs for me."

Edward squinted.

'He wants to harm me? And say it in public like this? Is this man crazy?'

As he looked around, Edward saw a few passers-by, who appeared to be members of the Poseidon Club, but they only shook their heads with expressions of pity before walking off casually. This made Edward wonder if this kind of thing was normal in the Poseidon Club.

'What kind of club is this? And what am I getting myself into?'

Suddenly, Edward saw the security guard nod and take out his gun, which was equipped with a silencer. His heart raced as he realized the seriousness of the situation.

Edward's heart was pounding in his chest as he faced the barrel of the security guard's gun. He knew he had to act fast or he would be in extreme danger. Taking a deep breath, he mustered up all his courage and spoke again.

"Please, listen to me. I have something that might interest you," Edward said, trying to sound calm despite the fear that was gripping him.

"What is it?" The security guard asked, his finger still on the trigger.

"I can offer you more money. I can pay double the amount that Harold Shennan offered," Edward said, hoping that the guard would consider his offer.

The guard looked at him skeptically. "And how can you do that?"

"I have connections. Wealthy, influential connections. They can transfer the money to you in a matter of minutes," Edward said, hoping that his words would convince the guard. He would not win against firearms either way.

William laughed out loud. "Beggars like you want to double the price? and you know influential people? Tsk. You should be proud that your two legs are priced at 20 million!"

The guard hesitated for a moment before nodding. "Okay. I'll give you 5 minutes to prove it. But if you're lying, I'll shoot you where you stand."

Unexpectedly, Harold Shennan did not mind. "I want to see what you're up to. If you turn out to be bluffing, then it won't just be your legs that I'll cripple!"

Edward breathed a sigh of relief as the guard lowered his gun. He knew he had bought himself some time, but he needed to act quickly to fulfill his promise.

Whether it was fate or not, but luck was with Edward. A quite familiar masculine voice suddenly rang in Edward's ears.

"Yo, Edward!. Sorry for not telling you about the membership card!"
