The doctor remained mute but he turned jittery. His palms were starting to sweat. Leo squinted at him. He is sure of what he is saying.

He's had one kind of photographic memory since he was young so he wouldn't easily forget people that left a kind of impact on him except the insignificant ones.

He ignored the whispers around him and grabbed the scared doctor by the collar, almost choking him. "I asked you a question and what I expect from you is an answer. Where is the doctor that was on duty earlier?"

"Sir... There were so many... Doctors on duty... So how am I... Supposed to know... The one you are... Talking about?," The doctor managed to get the words out of his mouth with great difficulty.

That was when Leo realized that he was choking him so he loosened his tight hold on the collar a little but not letting go completely.

He moved closer to the doctor with a sinister smile. "Don't you dare try to act smart with me? You must know something at least an answer to my q

Larson chuckled. "Is that doubt I sense in you officer Joe? Why don't you go on investigating the actual murderer starting from the doctor instead of wasting your time bickering with me!" Joe was so infuriated. The bastard dared to use his own words against him. Has he no respect for the officer of law!? Feeling like he might explode with anger if he continued to stay there, he turned to the doctor who had long since shrunk back in fear at the argument. He just pulled the poor man by the collar and dragged him out of the ward. "Brother, do you think we can rely on these cops to get to the root of the matter?," Miles spoke for the first time. His words were however lowered and meant for Wave's eyes only. Wave rubbed his tired eyes. His hair seemed to have grown whiter even more. He sighed,"We have known Joe since he was installed into the post of a mere sergeant so I know we can trust him. Besides, he owes his entire life and what he had become to Victoria. So he definitely

"Hire a P.I?," Leo repeated with an uncertain look as they walked out of the elevator into the reception of the hospital. Larson nodded. "Yes boss. The cops are totally useless in this case. The detectives are no different themselves. They are from the station and could be easily bought over to twist the evidence against you," He spoke softly because of the nurses and doctors that were walking past them. Once the coast was clear, he continued,"So the best advice I can give you is for you to hire a private investigator so we can get to the root of this. No matter how a person hides, he can't hide from the face of technology. They will be able to bring an end to this in no time and also refute the wrong allegations against you." Two nurses passed by and he stopped talking again till they had left. "You have just said it yourself that you don't have many fans in the family. One Greene individual isn't enough to take you down but imagine if the whole family gathered against you? How

"Boss, it seems like they are here for you. Should I tell them that we are not related so they can let me go," Jake whispered as soon as they were cornered round the car with no place to go. Leo looked at Jake incredulously. What's he saying!? Pfft! Larson couldn't hold back his chuckle and this seemed to infuriate the thugs cause they wondered what was making their captives laugh in this tense situation. "Boss, why are you looking at me that way? Can't you fight?," Jake finished his sentence with a gasp. Leo didn't bother to lie and immediately shook his head sideways to indicate a negative answer. Jake's image of Leo being a powerful Ceo crumbled at once. It was his turn to give his boss a weird look. "How can you not know how to fight? All CEOs know how to fight. Isn't that how it is supposed to be?" He sounded like he was trying to convince himself. "Isn't that your job? Shouldn't you protect the Ceo?," Leo sounded irritated. "Looks like our presence didn't frigh

Joe walked into the ward with a solemn expression but was quick to notice that the ambience of the room seemed weird. It was weird but he couldn't pinpoint exactly what was weird in it. Wave and Leo walked to him immediately when they noticed him. He briefly glanced around. Miles was nowhere to be seen. Huh? Where did he go? "Were you able to find anything?," Wave asked as soon as they got to him. Joe sighed and rubbed his eyes. In just a day, a case has made him more exhausted than he has ever been in his entire life. "No," His reply was concise. "No?," Leo repeated. "What do you mean no? Did you or did you not find the person you were searching for?" Joe was irked by Leo's questioning tone. His eyes narrowed as he snapped,"The man is dead! He was murdered before we even got there. The murderer obviously knew we were gonna hunt the doctor down so he got there first before us and silenced him." Leo and Wave fell silent. The latter fell into a deep thought. He now

The white walls weren't the first thing Heaven noticed when her eyes finally flew open. It was the woman beside her, looking at her worriedly. She immediately tried to sit up, arousing the woman's attention. "No honey, you should lay back," Grandma Emily hurriedly held her down gently and arranged the pillows behind her carefully. Others in the room came closer. "How do you feel now?," Miles asked her, the worry evident in his dim eyes. "I'm fine." Grandma Emily noticed that Heaven's voice was hoarse so she reached out to the jug of clean water beside the bed and poured out a cup. Then she had to help Heaven sit up again and hold the cup till the latter emptied it. "I had the weirdest dream," Heaven suddenly spoke, startling the three people in the room. Before anyone could speak or ask her what her dream was, she explained,"I had a dream that mom was dead. She was lying in a bloody bed with lifeless eyes." Then she laughed. Her words and reaction was making the peopl

Leo's phone vibrated and after he checked the message, he looked at Wave. "Grandfather, we will be able to leave soon if no problem crops up. The chauffeur is on his way. Do you want to come along or would you rather visit later?" Wave was about to answer but Miles suddenly butt in,"Wait what? What are you two talking about?" The hoarseness of his voice was clear enough. Probably due to his old age. He looked at Wave and then glared at Leo as usual. When none of them refused to answer, realization finally dawned on him. "Brother!," He called out in shock. "You are really gonna let our granddaughter live with him. Didn't Joe explain to you that he is the prime suspect of these murders? Besides, who else would benefit the most if James and Victoria were out of this world and now you want Heaven to leave with him!?" Leo's lips twitched with anger. There was silence for a while when Leo began to think that she had probably agreed. But then, she said,"I have to go now. I don't wanna miss my flight." With a mischievous chuckle, she ended. "Wait what!?," Leo exclaimed, sitting up. He looked at the phone screen and realized that she already ended the call. He immediately tried calling her back only for the calls to be disconnected over and over again. He made a low hissing sound and tossed his phone away. "What's wrong? Why don't you want your girlfriend to come over?," Leo was startled by the sudden soft voice that asked. But he was quick to answer,"She is not my girlfriend." He then turned back only to see the amused smile on grandma Emily's face. His eyes unconsciously trailed off to Heaven and when he saw that her eyes were closed, he frowned slightly. D

"Can I have them?," The officer was startled by detective Tom's sudden request. He looked down at the bundle of newspapers in his hands, frowning at the way the dust from them smeared his uniform. "Sir... The officer didn't dare to object so he just gave the papers to Tom and turned around to walk back into the room. Tom didn't leave. He followed behind the officer and when he walked in, he wasn't surprised to see officers everywhere, searching through the deceased things. Even the room was in a mess. He hurriedly put down the newspaper and the first thing he noticed was the headline. His brows furrowed as he mumbled it out softly,"Hawk? How come I never heard of him." The headline stated,'THERE HAS BEEN PRISON BREAK AND ONE OF THE CRIMINALS ON LOOSE, HAWK WAS SENTENCED TO BE MURDERED THIS WEEK.' This week? Detective Tom checked the date of t

Leo laughed and she was forced to release her hand when his lips vibrated against it sensually. "We didn't go all the way... Perhaps we could explore further tonight and maybe make a baby to appease the Grampa Wave." "You told grandpa?" She shrieked with widened eyes. "He didn't seem pleased," Leo led her to the car. Emily looked surprised and a smile soon spread out on her face. Meanwhile, Wave was speechless. When the words finally sunk in his brain, he yelled,"You rascal! How long have you had your eyes on her? How long has this been going on? Do you really think you'd be able to get her to the bureau without consulting me first?" Leo cringed at the noise. "Grandfather, she agreed to it. I'm afraid she might run off this time if I don't hold her down. Sorry I didn't let you know before this." "No... This is unacceptable! The atmosphere of the car seemed to get even colder with the distance covered. Q quivered and looked consequently from Leo who'd literally turned to a huge block of ice emitting strong frostiness and Heaven, who was just sitting quietly in a corner. 'Just make up already,' he groaned inwardly but didn't say a word. All of a sudden, Leo ordered the chauffeur to stop the car, just a few meters away from Wave's manor. He ignored the looks he got from Q and Heaven and ordered,"Get out." Quan and Heaven exchanged looks confusedly until he repeated his words again,"Get out." The passenger's door automatically opened. Without thinking, Heaven made an attempt to walk out but Leo halted her movement with a cold glare. He was sitting opposite her so as soon as she saw the way he glared at her, she subconsciously sat back. Quan didn't need anyone to tell him that the person asked to get out was him. With grievance in his heart, he walked out. As he watched the car zoom off,

I'll surely make you regret what you did today." Leo didn't refute her word as he was pushed in. He simply dismissed the receptionist,"You can leave." The receptionist was relieved to leave that place cause she immediately hurried away. "Boss, you have twenty more minutes till the next meeting," Jake bent low to inform him. He nodded and looked at Valerie with that same expressionless face. "You have just ten minutes. Why did you want to see me by all means?" Valerie appeared a bit embarrassed. However, the latter's eyes suddenly fell on a strange file. One he's never seen before. "Which file is that?" He pointed at it. Jake looked at it and suddenly reacted like he'd forgotten to mention something while saying the schedule just now. "You asked me to research Mason's company, remember? Initially, I got the result and wanted to inform you but that thing with uncle Miles came up and you asked me to suspend it." As he explained, Leo's eyes darkened. Leo looked up at the collection of pictures on the table and a soft look suddenly adorned his cold features. At first, he had been very confused as to why Heaven suddenly decided to leave the country months ago. The crisis was over and there were no murder threats anymore so why did she suddenly insist on going abroad? He had been angered and bittered about her decision for a long time, feeling she was inconsiderate of his feelings and simply selfish until he found the real reason why she went abroad. A month after her departure, he began to receive emails from Q with pictures of Heaven's endeavors abroad. Leo unintentionally moved closer to look at the pictures closely. One picture had Heaven wearing this cute overalls with a pencil tucked behind her ear and a folder in her hand. She was standing in front of a Corp. smiling at a company of three unfamiliar men. Leo frowned and suddenly brought out scissors from a drawer to trim out the other Intruders in the picture. Jake

"Mr Greene is fine and out of danger now. There weren't complications during the surgery since we were able to detect the poison early so he is perfectly okay," the doctor watched the people around him breath in relief. They were now in a fresh, clean Vvip ward and Leo was lying unconscious on the bed with Heaven sitting by his side. Receiving no questions, the doctor continued with his speech,"We would just like to put him under observation for some days because the poison weakened his body system and coupled with the large portion of anesthesia found in his blood—" Q coughed nervously when he heard this and subconsciously moved away from Wave who turned to the doctor with a puzzled look. "Anesthesia?" The doctor nodded at Wave's question. "Yes, we discovered that he had been injected with an overdose of anesthesia." Detective Tom itched his head nervously and exchanged a look with Q. "What happened while I was gone?" "Nothing," Q didn't even look at him. Larson took a stance against the walls as grandma Emily led Heaven to a bench. They had gotten to the operation theater and the bulb was still showing the red light to indicate that there was an ongoing operation. Larson pulled Q back when he saw that the latter was going to join grandma Emily and Heaven on the bench. He moved closer and asked again in a hushed tone,"Nothing?" "Why are you being so nosy all of a sudden? I already told you nothing happened." "I believe you are lying," Larson glared at him but this didn't faze the latter. There was a sudden deafening silence in the room. Everyone literally froze at Q's revelation. "What?" Detective Tom managed to choke out. Q nodded. "Yes, my name is Quan Greene." "Which of the Greene's?" It was after detective Tom asked this question did he realize how stupid it sounds. He turned to Wave. "Granduncle, do you secretly have an illegitimate child outside that gave birth to this grandson?" As if on cue, grandma Emily and Wave glared at him at the same time causing him to seal his lips with his fingers. "Don't say nonsense and don't call me granduncle. I am not your relative. Do we look alike?" Wave retorted. "What's going on? Why is the private investigator saying his name is Quan Greene? How is he related to us?" Grandma Emily immediately demanded an answer.
