Chapter 6 - Shocking Revelation

Milan laughed.

He couldn't help himself. It was the best thing he had heard all evening. The joke the old man was making was amusing.

"What? You expect me to believe that"

The old man wasn't laughing at all. He didn't find what he said amusing, and he stared at Milan with a look of pity.

"This is not a joke, young master. I'm quite serious, but I know you'll have a hard time believing me. "

The old man said, giving Milan a concerned look.

The waiter placed the drinks in front of them, and the old man thanked the man politely and watched him leave out of earshot before he resumed talking.

"I had been keeping watch on you for a while ever since the accident that almost happened"

Milan's brows furrowed in confusion.

"The accident..were you -"

The old man nods.

"I sent one of the Bodyguards to rescue you that night. Luckily, I had been keeping an eye on you back then. "

The old man took a sip of his wine and exhaled.

"When I checked your records at the hospital. I was able to confirm that you were actually the one. Young Master, I never thought I'd see you at this event, but now seeing your face up close, you really look like your parents. "

The old man smiled at him while scrutinising his facial features.

Milan found himself speechless.

"I-I don't know how to start believing all of this"

The old man slipped a card next to Milan that had a phone number.

"You don't have to understand it all in one night, young master. I know you have a lot of questions, and it will all be answered. Please just call the number on that card whenever you're ready, and I'll come pick you up, young master. "

Milan took the card and stared at it briefly.

The old man took the rest of his wine in one shot.

"It's a bit late. I'm sorry, young Master but I'll have to get going. "

The old man placed a black card next to Milan, which caused Milan's eyes to widen in disbelief.

"W-What is this?"

"Whatever you need to purchase, you can do so with that card young master. Also-'

The old man fished out a key from his suit pocket that had a number attached to it.

"This is the key to your hotel room. Young Master I know you do not wish to go back to sleep in the same house with your wife after the events that occurred tonight. "

The old man stood up, and Milan followed suit, completely overwhelmed.

"What's your name?"

Milan asked politely.

"Victor Mathias, your butler. I hope to get a call from you soon, young master. "

The old man said, bowing to Milan before he exited through the door.

Milan slumps on his seat, chugging down the glass of wine aggressively that he almost chokes.

Milan lets out a long sigh as he exits the lounge.

Milan had been sceptical to believe Victor's words about him being an heir to a wealthy family. After all, he knew he was an orphan and had grown up in an orphanage.

The thought of having any sort of parent sounded so much like a dream to Milan.

As he put in the key to his room and unlocked it, he was astounded by the view. Everything about the room screamed wealth that a part of him wanted to believe Victor wasn't lying. Regardless, he was still sceptical.

Milan knew he couldn't return home that night.

Who knows? Ella and Daniel might come in the middle of the night only to beat him up. The thought made Milan cringe.

Milan took a shower, ate the food that had been set on the table for him, and finally laid on the bed.

He thought back on Victor's words as he laid down on the bed, staring at the black card in his hand before he fell asleep.

That night, Milan had found himself in a hall with white plain walls.

Confused, he walked around to find an entrance out, but the doors he encountered were shut.

The further he walked down the halls, the longer it got, and he soon started feeling suffocated and trapped.

"Help! Is anyone here?!"

Milan yelled to no one in particular as his voice only echoed through what seemed like an endless hall.

"Are you lost, boy?"

The sound of man caused Milan to turn around to see who the voice belonged to.

The voice was unfamiliar to him, and so was the man. The tall man was dressed in nothing but all black.

A black coat and even a black hat so much that Milan couldn't make out his face.

"Who are you?"

Milan asked, keeping his distance from the man as the man in black took threatening steps towards Milan.

A deep chuckle is heard from the man, and Milan could almost feel the man's lips curl into a grin.

"I'm here to take you home"

The man said and started running towards Milan with full speed. Milan panicked suddenly and ran away, trying to get away from the man, but the halls seemed endless.

Even as Milan ran away from the man, he tried to open the doors in the hall, but they were still locked.

"Who are you?!"

Milan screamed at the man who just laughed at him as he kept on running.

The man didn't say anything else, but he didn't stop chasing Milan as well.

Milan short of breath, loses his balance, and falls on the hard white tiles.

He turns to look at the man whose face is still covered by his black hat.

The man brings out what looks like a white handkerchief as he slowly approaches Milan, who crawls backwards with fear in order to get away from the man.

"Now be silent, boy."

Milan shook his head in fear as the man got closer to him.

A door next to Milan suddenly opens, giving Milan hope. Without wasting any time, Milan gets up and runs through the white door, and his vision goes blank.

Milan's eyes open swiftly, and he almost jumps out of his bed with shock. He could feel the way his heart pounded fast in his heart. It took Milan a few minutes to realise the events that had happened had all been a dream.

Milan looked around him to see he was still in his hotel room as he pondered on the dream he had.

He hears a buzz from his phone and checks to see it's a text message from Ella which causes his heart skip a beat.

It read:

"You better come back from wherever you ran away to you fool. Some man came looking for you"
