Chapter 5 - An Unusual Stranger

The eye contact between Ella and Milan was intense. MIlan couldn't believe he had totally forgotten his wife was a popular model, and Daniel was wealthy as well.

The thought that she might attend such an event never occurred to him.

Ella gazed upon him with clear disgust. It was like seeing his face had ruined her night.

"What are you doing here? Are you now spying on me? Don't you have any other place to work, huh?"

Milan looked around to make sure no one had heard Ella's harsh words before he plastered on a fake smile and acted like everything was alright.

After all, he was simply doing his job.

"I have your orders."

Milan said, almost placing the food on the table, but Ella stopped him by putting a hand up.

"How am I sure this isn't poisoned?"

Ella said, eyeing him with disgust. Milan's smile didn't falter even though he was feeling so much pain inside his heart.

Ella just knew how to get to him without even trying so hard.

"Forget it. I've lost my appetite. Get me another waiter. "

Ella said, waving him off like a fly. Milan knew if he was to return the food and request another waiter, he might get blamed for not doing his job right.

"The other waiters are all busy right now, ma'am. If there's any other food you want, I can -"

Daniel scoffed, cutting him off.

"Are you deaf?"

After that question, Daniel kicked Milan's leg from underneath the table, causing him to lose his balance.

The contents from the tray fell on the floor, the plates and glass cups were shattered into pieces, and Ella's dress was spilt with wine.

Milan immediately had deja vu as the same thing had happened with his mother-in-law when he had broken her teacup. Daniel snickered as gasps and murmurs were heard from the people around.

Ella closed her eyes, trying to hold back her anger, but she failed at it miserably. She quickly stood up, pointing a perfectly manicured finger at Milan, who was on the ground laying on the spilt food.

"You idiot! Just look at this mess! Can't you do your job, right?! Look at my dress!"

Ella acted like she was about to cry, even though the wine spilt on her dress was barely even visible as she wore a black dress, luckily.

Within seconds, Ella bursted out into fake tears.

"Ohh no…look at my dress"

She whined. Milan immediately got on his knees, pleading in front of the entire guests who murmured.

It was so embarrassing, and some people even laughed.

"Why are you apolosing when you can't even afford this dress. Do you know how much this costs?!"

Ella continued her outburst while Milan kept on pleading, not knowing what else to do. Daniel stood by Ella's side, trying to calm her down.

When Milan made eye contact with Daniel, Daniel had grinned like the devil. Milan had known that Daniel had just planned to humiliate him.

"What the hell are you doing on the floor, you bastard? Go get her a towel to clean up!"

Daniel scolded Milan as he tried to console Ella.

"It's alright, sir. I brought over a towel. "

Milan looked over at his manager who had arrived at the scene and he felt more ashamed as he knew he was done for.

"What kind of people do you employ?! He can't even do his job properly. Just look at me!"

Ella whined gesturing towards her dress.

"I'm so sorry, ma'am. Please forgive him on my behalf. I promise such will never repeat itself. "

Ella scoffed and dramatically as she grabbed the towel from the manager and wiped off the wine on her dress like it was blood.

"What will that bastard do about my dress?"

The manager looked to Milan pitifully before replying to Ella.

"You don't have to worry, ma'am. It is our fault we will get it dry cleaned and sent to you. Please calm down. "

Ella folded her arms and sat down. Throwing the towel at Milan's face.

"You get back to the kitchen. I'll meet you there briefly. "

The manager spoke to Milan and he nodded obediently, still apologising once again before he shamefully left the scene.

"You're fired!"

Milan had heard that word three times in one week. It was exhausting. He couldn't even beg his manager because he knew nothing would change.

It was hopeless.

Ella and Daniel had gotten him to lose a job he just wanted to do for his ex co-worker. He didn't think the night would end the way it did.

All because of the woman he had chosen to marry.

Milan packed up his bags while his fellow workers gossiped about him as he walked out of the kitchen.

Milan was sure mistakes like that must have happened, but Ella just had to go overboard. He overheard some workers say Ella specially requested he was fired or she would leave them a bad review.

Milan forcefully shut the door to the kitchen, closed his eyes, and let out a heavy breath.

"It must have been hard"

Milan almost jumped at the voice that spoke to him. He analysed the owner of the voice.

It was an old man dressed in a tuxedo with a walking stick that smiled at him.

"Excuse me? Who are you?"

The man walked closer to Milan, smiling widely at him.

"Why don't you join me for a drink?"

Milan had never been to a VIP lounge in his entire life. Once he had stepped inside earlier, he could immediately tell he didn't belong there.

Soft music was played and the atmosphere was extremely peaceful.

Milan didn't know what he was thinking when he had agreed to have a drink with a stranger but after the events of the night, he actually felt like he needed a drink.

"What would you like to drink tonight gentlemen?"

The waiter asked.

"What would you like young master?"

Young Master? Milan was taken aback by the old man's choice of words but he kept his questions for later.

"Um..Just give me your best wine"

The waiter nodded, took their orders and left.

"Young Master? Why did you call me that?"

The old man cleared his throat.

"Young Master, we have been searching for you for such a long time and now look…I've finally found you"

Milan cocked an eyebrow at the man in confusion.

"What are you talking about?"

"Young Master, you are an heir to a wealthy family"
