The academy, though could be consider a single school made for young dragon warriors, it was actually made up of different schools within it, these schools were designed to teach and train specific dragon warriors.
The school of water trained water dragon warriors like Susan, the school of fire trained fire dragon warriors like Steven, the angry boy that almost fought David, the school of earth trained earth dragon warriors like the boy with black spectacle and finally the air school thought air dragon warriors like David and Flora.
Flora had shown David the other schools of the Dragon Academy, explaining what they were and warning him to never go to any other school apart from the school for air dragon warriors as students were not allowed to interfere in the affairs of any other school apart from theirs.
David felt bad upon hearing that he couldn’t go to the other schools, wanting to explore more about the Dragon Academy and also to maybe pay a visit to Susan in the water school.
In the school of air Flora took David to the academic class which was the first class for the day.
Once there David took a next to Flora.
The teacher then walked in and not long after began the lesson.
The teacher taught about an important topic that affected the entire history of world, a topic David knew little about, the Dark Dragon Lord and how his reign over the world.
The teacher began the class with a brief history about how the Dark Dragon Lord appeared out of nowhere with a power so great it shook the entire world.
At 16 years old the Dark Dragon Lord had already brought entire nations to their knees and those that dared to go against him he reduced to dust and ash.
Many years after, as a fully grown man he had conquered the entire world.
The Dark Dragon Lord was indeed a person to be feared not just for his power but for the dark dragon warriors he commanded.
The dark dragon warriors were ruthless and would obey every command given by them from the Dark Dragon Lord no matter what it was.
The Dark Dragon had a philosophy that only dragon warriors had the power to purify and fix the world but they can only do it by forces since the people of the world are cruel and heartless.
His philosophy was what drove and motivated every cruel and wicked action he committed, he also taught his dark dragon warriors the same philosophy he believed him which drove and motivated them as well even after his death.
The Dark Dragon Lord was a dangerous dragon warrior not because of the power he possessed alone but because he was able to influence other dragon warriors so that they would see the world the way he saw it and have the same belief as him.
He was not just a powerful dragon warrior; he was a manipulator, a villain who believed he was a hero.
David sat down listening to everything the teacher said attentively and focusing on every word, wanting to know more about the Dark Dragon Lord but then the school bell rung and then all the student had to leave the class.
David felt bad that the class could not continue as he wanted to know more about the Dark Dragon Lord but from the little knowledge about him, he could get from the class he began to wonder how and why a person like the Dark Dragon Lord would want to wreak havoc and destruction just because he believed he was saving the world.
The concept was strange to him and he found him thinking about how insane the Dark Dragon Lord had to be to confuse evil for good.
The next class David had to attend was power training class which unlike the academic class focused on teaching students how to control and master their elemental powers and not on the history of the dragon warriors.
David was excited to attend the class as he had heard from Flora that he, she and the other students would be leaving the academy to practice and train on how to use their powers.
David was excited upon hearing that he and the other students of the academy would leave the academy, not wanting to waste any time he rushed out of the academy, following the other students outside the academy.
Once outside David watched as one by one all the students began to summon their air dragons and ride away, following the teacher who rode on his air dragon as well.
David upon seeing the student leave on their dragons felt a bit nervous as he had, at least to his knowledge, never summoned a dragon before.
David then took a deep breath in and then began to attempt to summon his dragon, even though he didn’t know how exactly to summon a dragon.
Not really sure what he was supposed to do, he closed his eyes and tried to force his dragon out.
He tried with all his might but no matter how hard he tried his dragon refused to come.
“What on earth are you doing?” said Flora was sat on her dragon’s back watching David from high up in the sky.
David upon hearing Flora’s voice opened his eyes and then smiling nervously at her
“Flora, you’re still here” said David nervously.
“Why haven’t you summoned your dragon yet?” asked Flora.
“Well, I kind of don’t *sigh* really know how too” said David while bowing his head down in shame.
Flora upon hearing what David said could not believe it, a dragon warrior who didn’t know how to summon his dragon, something that was supposed to have come naturally to all dragon warriors.
Flora then flew down and landed her dragon next to David.
“Did you just say you can’t summon your dragon” asked Flora still unable to believe that David could summon a dragon.
David just nodded his head, feeling too embarrassment and shame to answer Flora with his voice.
Flora then took a deep breath, still unable to understand why David couldn’t summon his dragon but couldn’t think too much about it as the teacher and other student had already gone so far and if they wanted to reach them, they had to leave right away.
“Get on,” said Flora.
“What?” said David confused.
“Get on my dragon, I’ll give you a ride,” said Flora.
“Oh” said David before climbing on to Flora’s dragon.
“Hold on to something,” said Flora.
David then held on to Flora tightly before her dragon began to flap its massive wings and then taking off.
Flying high in the sky Flora’s dragon flew as fast as the wind and managed to reach the other students who were shocked to see David riding alongside Flora on her dragon.
The teacher, riding his wind dragon led the students to the top of a mountain so high that its peak reached the sky and was covered completely by the clouds.
Once on the mountain top the teacher came down from his dragon followed by the rest of the class.
Immediately David sensed the air on the mountain felt different, it was thinner than normal which made it hard to breath.
David could feel himself slowly suffocating as he found it harder and harder to breath the thin air and it wasn’t only David struggling, the other students including Flora were struggling as well to breath.
“Listen up students” said the teacher with a deep and loud voice.
“As I’m sure you’ve all noticed the air here is thin and hard to breath. If you all weren’t dragon warriors the thin air would have made you lose consciousness in mere minute and in about an hour or so, it would have suffocated you all to death,” said the teacher.
David upon hearing what the teacher said felt a little scared, fearing he would lose his life attending the class.
“If you all are scared of dying due to suffocation don’t be, as dragon warriors your bodies can handle breathing the thin air. To us dragon warriors the thin air is more of an annoyance than anything life threaten,” said the teacher.
David sighed out of relief upon hearing that he wouldn’t suffocate due thin air.
“That being said, your lesson today is an easy one” said the teacher before snapping his finger and using the power of the wind to create a ball of dense air around him which enabled him breathe properly without struggling.
“All you have to do is create a ball of dense air around yourself to enable you breathe properly, if you all can manage this simple task, you pass, if you can’t, you fail,” said the teacher.
“Oh, and try not to pass out while doing this exercise. I don’t want to have to drag your unconscious bodies back to school grounds” the teacher added.
The students that began to try to create a ball of air around themselves like the teacher instructed to enable them breathe properly.
It was not an easy feat to accomplish because to use the power of the wind the wind dragon warriors needed to focus but as they struggled to breathe focusing became more difficult.
As time passed a few of the students managed to successfully create the ball, like Flora, but others, like David, were still struggling.
No matter how David tried he could not maintain the ball of air around him and it would often dissipate the very moment he formed it.
David, after a lot of failed attempts in creating the ball of air fell to the ground, exhausted and struggling to breathe.
Flora, seeing David in the state he was in could help but feel bad for him and so she decided to give him a helping hand.
Flora then went to David and allowed him in to the ball of air she created.
David, now within the ball of air, could breathe proper and managed to get some his strength back.
Flora then helped him up.
“Thanks Flora” said David to Flora, feeling grateful towards her for helping him.
“Don’t thank me yet, to pass you still have to create a ball of air all on your own,” said Flora.
“Yeah” said David with a deep sigh, wondering how he was supposed to focus on creating the ball of air when he could barely breathe.
Flora, seeing that David was lost in his thoughts, thinking of how he could focus on creating the ball of air decided to help him out with some advice.
“Try doing it with a clear mind, avoid thinking as much as possible and only focus on the task given to you,” said Flora.
“Avoid thinking” David said to himself and then taking a few brief moments to think about what Flora said.
“Alright, I’m ready to try again,” said David.
“Good luck,” said Flora.
“Thanks, I’m going to need it” said David before leaving the ball of air.
Once out of the ball of air David when down on one knee, took in a deep breath and then began to clear his mind as best he could, focusing solely on creating the ball of air.
As David’s mind was now focus solely on creating the ball of air slowly the wind began to blow around him, a ball of air around him.
David had done it; he had successfully created the ball of air.
Flora could help but smiled proudly at him upon seeing him create the air ball but then something strange began to happen.
With David’s eyes still closed, he began to see strange visions in his mind.
In visions he saw the Temple of The Golden Dragon Warrior and the golden locket on the neck of the mysterious woman he dreamt about in the morning.
As David saw the vision, he felt a strange power flow through his entire body and as it did his ball of air grew bigger and bigger, engulfed everybody within it and even grew so large that it engulfed the entire mountain peak.
Everyone, including Flora and the teacher were shocked upon witnessing David incredible display of power.
David then felt the strange power slowly disappear and as it did the ball began to shrink down until only engulfing David within it.
David then slowly opened his eyes and then smiled happily upon seeing the ball of air he had created.
“I actually did it” said David, happy to see that he was able to create the ball of air.
David then noticed the strange looks everyone was giving him, a strange mix of amazement and shock.
“Why are you all looking at me like that?” asked David, feeling a bit strange as everyone continued to look at him strangely.
The teacher then walked up to David and then asked, “What’s your name?”
“David” said David.
“Hmm” said the teacher, thinking about something a few brief moments before turning to the rest of the class.
“Class is over, you all to return to the academy at once,” said the teacher.
With that said the students, one by one began to summon their dragons and ride away.
Flora then summoned her wind dragon.
“Are you coming or not” asked Flora to David, waiting for him to get on her dragon.
David then climbed on to Flora’s dragon before he and her flew off, riding Flora’s dragon.
“Hey, do you know why everyone was looking at” asked David.
“You seriously don’t know” said Flora, shocked to find out that David did not even know what he did.
“Not really. Did I do anything wrong?” asked David.
“No, you were actually amazing,” said Flora.
“Really, what did I do?” asked David.
Flora then told David how he created a ball of air so massive that it engulfed the entire mountain peak which David found it impossible to believe.
“I still don’t believe that could do such a thing” said David, not believe what Flora said about him creating a ball of air that covered the entire mountain peak.
“Whether you believe it or not that still doesn’t change the fact that it happened,” said Flora.
David remained silent for a moment while thinking about what Flora told him.
As he thought about it, he spotted the Temple of The Golden Dragon Warrior and then remembered the vision he had and strange power he felt.
David could not explain but he could sense the same power coming from the temple, almost as if it was calling out to him.
He wanted nothing more than to go to the temple and find out more about the power he felt when he saw the vision but sadly, he had to return to the academy with the other students.
Once they returned back to the Dragon Academy Flora informed David that they had one more class to go to, combat class, the all class every student from the different schools of the Dragon Academy had to attend. David upon hearing that there was a class where all the students of the Dragon Academy were allowed to attend together became excited as it meant he would be able to see Susan again. Flora took David to combat class, once there David saw that all students in the academy had gathered there. The students there were participating in different forms of combat practice, whether it was in the form of light sparring, weapon training or practicing their combat skills on a fighting dummy. David looked at the students as they practiced their combat training and couldn’t help but wonder why the academy would want to train their students in the art of combat. David did not really understand the concept of violence and it was because of this lack of understanding that drove his curios
After the combat class Flora, along with Susan and Akiri took David to the library, the final destination of David’s tour around the academy. “Wow” said David upon seeing the massive tree size shelves filled with hundreds of thousands of books. “That’s a lot of books” said David as he had never before seen so many books gathered in one place. “Yeah, everything about the long history of the dragon warrior from the late Elementary wars to present day has been carefully recorded and stored in these books” said Akiri. “Elementary Wars?” asked David wondering what the later Elementary Wars were. Akiri was about to answer David but Flora stopped him, knowing that if Akiri started talking they would be stuck in the library all day listening to Akiri’s history lesson about the Elementary wars. “No need Akiri, heaven only knows I can’t take another one of your long and boring lectures. David, the Elementary wars was a war that happened thousands of years ago, back then the dragon warrior
It was lunch time and David made his way to the dining room where all the other students went to have their lunch. Once there David was greeted by Flora, calling out to him and inviting him to seat with her alone with, Susan and Akiri on their table. David smiled upon seeing them and then went to seat with them. “How was your meeting with the Head master?” asked Flora with a playful smile on his face. “Stressful and I can’t believe you described me as a simple idiot to the Head master” said David, still a bit offended about how Flora described him to the Head master. “You actually did that Flora, that’s cold even for you” said Akiri shocked upon hearing what Flora said about David. “Hey, I never called you an idiot, I simply state that you lack basic knowledge which you do but it’s not like that’s the only thing I said about you,” said Flora. “Yeah, I guess you’re right” said David with a playful smile at Flora. “Why did the Head master want to see you anyway?” asked Susan a b
David roamed through the academy halls before finally reaching his destination, the Head master’s office. He could hear the Head master reprimanding Steven from within the office, saying her disappointed his parents would be with him upon hearing what he did.Steven remained silent, uttering no words and just allowing the Head master to continue, he was used to hearing the Head master and so many others in the academy talking about how much of a disappointment he was, it wasn’t new information to him.Steven still felt a great deal of sadness and regretted over his actions to so degree, he didn’t regret what he did to David because in his mind he deserved everything that happened and then some.Steven wanted nothing more than to hurt David for daring to say he was shocked to hear that his, Akiri’s and Flora’s parents were the Golden Dragon Generals because in his mind he was judge them all, seeing them as to weak to be the children of the Golden Dragon Generals, and if there anything
David made his way back to his room.He tried opening the door with his arm only to wince in pain upon touching the door’s handle. It turned out that the hand he used to touch the door was the same hand Steven burnt when he shook David.David just looked at his burnt hand and sighed before opening the door with his other hand.He went to his room and immediately collapsed on his bed, worn out and tired because of everything he had gone through in just his first day of school.David then began to think about how he managed to make three friends (Akiri, Flora and Susan) and apparently one enemy (Steven).David sighed as he began to think about Steven, wondering what his problem was, he had saved him from being expelled from the academy and instead of being grateful to him Steven’s anger towards him only grew more.David didn’t know what to do.He didn’t want to have Steven as an enemy; he didn’t want to even have an enemy in general. He was raised and taught by Abari to be friendly and
David, in his air form blew out of the academy, reforming outside the academy gates and hoping nobody would see or noticed he was gone he ran in the forest, headed straight for the Temple of The Golden Dragon Warrior. Araban arose from his slumber, sensing something in the air that woke him up. Araban then got up from his bed and upon doing so, Steven who was still awake, lying on the fall turned to him. “Why are you here, old man?” asked Steven. “One of the students has left the safety of the academy. I have to retrieve them” said Araban. “How do you know?” asked Steven. “The wind told me and it never lies” said Araban as he got up. “Get up” said Araban. “What?” said Steven upon hearing Araban asking him to get up? “You’re coming with me, to help me catch the student” said Araban. “What? Why?” asked Steven, not wanting to follow Araban to forest so late at night. “Because I said so, now get up” said Araban with a strict voice and an ice-cold glare. Steven upon seeing Arab
David woke up the next day and saw that he was in a strange room, lying down on a bed. “Where am I?” David asked himself while looking around, trying to figure out where he was. “You’re in the academy’s infirmary,” said a voice. David then turned around and saw a woman standing not too far away from him. “I’m Boma, the academy’s healer,” said the woman. “What happened, why am I here?” said David. “You are here because Araban found you after hearing an explosion come from the Temple of The Golden Dragon Warrior. And as for why you’re here, well nobody can answer that but you” said Boma. David then took breath before he began to remember what happened the other night. He remembered going to the temple and touching its door, after that he remembered feeling a strange power flow through his entire body but everything after that was blurry and unclear. Boma then quickly examined David’s body to see if he was alright. “Well, nothing seems to be broken. It seems like whatever happe
Night soon came to the academy and it was time for dinner and so David made his way to the dining room and sat down on his usual seat, on a table alongside Akiri, Flora and Susan. “Are you okay, Akiri told us you weren’t feeling fine today” asked Flora. David seeing the worry and concern in their eyes for him, he was happy to see that even though he had not been in the academy for that long he already had friends who cared so much for him. “I’m fine, I’ve just been feeling a little under the weather that’s all” said David with a smile to reassure her and the others that there was nothing to worry about. David’s smile brought a sense of ease to the minds of Flora and Akiri but Susan could shake the feeling that he was hiding something. “Come on guys, let’s eat. I’m starving” said Akiri. “You’re always hungry, seriously where does all the food go” asked Flora, wondering how Akiri can eat a meal fit for ten men and still remain so thin. “My stomach” said Akiri jokingly, causing Dav
